Our best "wingers" are Hancock and Cammy. Hancock's crosses are better than anything McGregor was putting in. McGregor has proven to be more effective and a real threat playing in a freer role in a 2 up front.
I've said it earlier replace McStravick with Cammy and play Hancock and Cammy as wingbacks. Leaves McMaster where he plays best and the heart of the defence is untouched with McCabe still in control of pulling the strings when we have the ball at the back. I do think Hearts will be more effective in their high press and that is where we will win or lose the game if we get caught and lose soft goals.
Really looking forward to playing them on our own pitch.
I disagree. Do not change our shape as our turnaround in form came when we went to a back 4. Going back to 3 CBs and wingbacks will result in one thing only, a defeat. Murray did this in 2019, got a 5 nil thumping.
It's a simple swap, mcstravick out so lyall or donnell in. Nothing else needs changed. Maybe Gal in from the start and use McGregor's pace off the bench after the hour mark.

Even if we get one, he probably won’t be announced until Saturday morning. Airdrie special
The seethe from the Falkirk fans when DJ was announced 5 minutes before the team sheet in the playoff was superb banter. Peak trolling

Euan Devenney was a weak link whenever he played. Goals inevitably came from our left hand side, playoff final a great example. I liked him and really wished he had kicked on, however his omission from the starting 11 coincided with us picking up form. Hope he does kick on somewhere as his commitment was never in doubt but he's not one for carrying in the championship.

Get Kennedy in the bin. Falkirk's two biggest games in the playoffs he barely showed up. A poor man's Gabby McGill and I'd be doing everything to keep him as he's still getting better every year! Ive heard he wants to stay and if we offer him what he wants I wouldn't be too worried over a P&B post.

Passing about the back is also easy possession when not under pressure.
Like the passing that lead to the first goal you mean?

Agreed. As are Airdrie. Long established so too…So why the question marks?
Team of jobbers (you agree this), easy win, we move on.

Falkirk looked like a jobber 2nd division side and we should have won more handsomely but for the ref ruling out a perfectly fine goal.
Some of the football we play is excellent and Falkirk couldn't keep up. They did have their spells and indeed dis create some chances, but 3-2 flattered Falkirk.
Anyways, job done. Nice n easy, onto next week.

Yes, that should have been condemn. It was us condoning [condone, verb: accept (behaviour that is considered morally wrong or offensive;) approve or sanction (something), especially with reluctance] that Airdrie fans were complaining about.
Did you perhaps mean condemn?

Some strike from Easton and Both penalties stonewallers. From the highlights McLean is clearly saying more than "you're a clown".Having watched the highlights MacLean's red was definitely for something said to the linesman. He turns and starts screaming at the linesman as soon as the penalty is awarded.
Ref getting it tight from Dumbarton fans (should be looking at their own imo) but it was the linesman who flagged for two of the reds. Don't think there was a harsh booking other than geggans second yellow. Currie should have been told to get up and on with it, no need to hit the deck like that. Other than that there can't be many complaints surely.
Still smiling, so much sweeter after the antics of McLean in the first fixture when Dumbarton fans refused to condone his play acting. No sympathy.6 -
For the umpteenth time. It was a booking. Sit downBehave yourself, he tugged the boys jersey, it was a foul and nothing more.1 -
Total heads gone stuff from Dumbarton today......hilarious stuff. Your players never shut up from the first minute and the indiscipline from them was Incredible. I said at half time you would be lucky to finish with 11 men on the park. They do know it's against the rules to grab a handful of the oppositions shirt (Buchanan especially)? Asking cos they were at it anytime they got within "grabbing" distance then mouthed off at the audacity of the ref to award a free kick. Only soft booking was Geggan for a foul on Curry, but then why blatantly run in to the keeper like that?
Great GIRUY stuff from both sets of players/coaches. Dont mind that but you do leave yourself open to looking like a bit of a tadger as Dumbarton found out.....and great to see McLean getting sent off for absolutely nothing. Thats Karma from the first meeting between the sides.
As for Airdrie, a bit too pedeatrian today and no excuse for conceding that 2nd goal vs 8 men. Unusually suspect at the back so hopefully its a blip and that's one we got away with.4 -
We are once again seeing that Murray does not know how to set a team up to attack. There is no tempo or fluidity when we go forward, its kick and rush, playing for breaks and second balls mostly. We had one great move vs dumbarton where we passed and moved quick, but that is an isolated example. I think we have the players to get the ball down and move it quick, we just don't have a manager who can organise them. Gallacher has been bloody awful too. Why does he never react to a ball quicker than the nearest defender?
Added to this, we seem incapable of dealing with the opposition running at us. How many goals have we conceded from players cutting inside, instead of getting shown down the line? Schoolboy defending.
Mid table was my expectation this year. Cove and Queens park are splashing the cash, Falkirk will be there too. Montrose, we seem to make them look like Brazil whenever we play them so don't hold out much hope we will be above them. Could end up 8th.
Falkirk second goal on saturday was a lovely finish, but the 3 failed clearances from us were embarrassing. We conceded our second against Dumbarton from a sclafed clearance (Calum Smith), same vs Falkirk(Quitongo). Professional footballers that can't kick a f*cking football properly. What happened to just getting the ball clear?2 -
Are you actually insinuating it wasnt an out and out dive? Why did McLean need reminded from a team mate his leg was sore and he needed to hit the deck again?
Obviously you lot will struggle this year going by that performance and you are desperate for any result you can get, no matter how it comes. Seems you have turned into a proper tinpot club.0 -
McLean cheated, by diving then rolling about. Simple. He even got up and forgot he was injured, before lying back down again. Proper small club mentality to endorse that and celebrate a draw like a win. I remember paul mcgrillen cheating to get a player sent off vs Falkirk years ago and his popularity plummeted with our support as a result. Penalty was a stonewaller, keeper ran out, made contact and impeded mcgill. 10 times out of 10 that is given.
Anyways, we were streets ahead of Dumbarton once we got going after a shaky start. They didnt look like scoring bar 1 chance in the first 5 min and our defence looked comfortable, bar Wardrop. Can say the players should have seen it out but Murray never helped them with his bizarre substitutions. Maybe Murray will learn if a defender is on a yellow and you have a like for like sub, then fucking use him! Onwards and upwards.0 -

You aren't a great league 1 side, 2 4th placed finishes backs that statement up. That doesn't mean you are a bad league 1 side, you are better than us but that isnt difficult with murray in charge here. Montrose are decent and on their day capable of beating anyone in this league. If you were "great" you would be top of the pile - which you are not.

Well this thread has turned into the predictable shit-fest we all expected. Seems lil old Airdrie still get under folks skin by just existing.
Hoping the team go out and do themselves justice as they've saved their poorest performances for Ayr, so hoping for an overdue performance which should hopefully lead to a win. Another tough game, there are no gummies in this league and Ayr will be confident given the previous games. 2-1the diamonds.
