Arbroath away last season on a Wednesday night was absolutely freezing.
If we hadn’t scored that late equaliser I would’ve gone home completely miserable.I was absolutely roasting that night.

Wouldn't worry about McDaid being smuggled away by an English championship team quite yet. Scouts were looking at McGuffie at the start of last season and clearly didn't see enough. Both of them need to do a job at a higher level (i.e. the Scottish Championship) for a year before they're even considered.
It's great to have young potential in the squad but I think we'll get at least another year out of them all. Including Shankland.

Absolutely. Shankland hat-trick while barely breaking sweat.
What a boii.
His goals could make the difference this time. Also thought big Jamie is ready made Centre Back material.

Did no one even think to ask what he was going to have for scran?
Bit flashy for oor Ian. Do they serve Special Brew there?I'm just raging he didn't go to my fucking oyster bar a mere hop and a skip away...

Was there anything else of interest from the Q&A or was that it?
Hopefully no stupid questions or people crying this time. No, McCall had a pressing engagement at the Ubiquitous Chip in Glasgow's West End.

A cool £1k if I remember correctly...

Looks like Dunfermline are keeping Higginbotham so fingers crossed for McDaid signing....

Did we not announce the likes of Moffat, Geggan and Higgins in May though? They just didn’t join the squad until June.
I imagine we’ll have to wait until the World Cup is over as the majority of McCalls targets will be playing in Russia this summer.#announcejoehart

Might get stick for saying this but I’d rather go for Fleming than McCrorie. At least with Fleming you know what you are getting. He has his weaknesses with cross balls but his shot stopping is as good as I’ve seen from an Ayr goalie. He had some superb performances in his last season and won POTY. In an ideal world I think we should do better but he’s a safe option and had no erratic moments like Hart has had.
Bell is unrealistic as his wage demands will likely be too high and I can’t see him actually wanting to sign for us.Wage demands high? - yes. Unrealistic based on signings so far? - possibly not. He needs to play for someone if he's to put himself in the fabled "shop window". It's not particularly far fetched.

Why the 1st June? I presume that’s when window opens.
McCall is back from his holiday I thibk(presuming he was away for a week) so should hear some signing news this week. Hopefully get the 6 current players still in discussion re-signed and add a GK, LB, CB, CM, Winger and that’ll probably be our lot.
Aye. Got the vibe that a keeper was sorted so presuming that end of contract/transfer window opening would be announcement time. Imagine that most folk would be contracted til end of May.

He seems to be pretty highly rated at Rangers and has played more games for Scotland at youth level than Ruddy and Hart but has had only one season of proper football.
I don’t see the point in having Hart who’s already young and then adding another young goalie. Surely we’d be better off going for an older experienced goalie who Hart can learn from. Unless Hart is away but that still doesn’t explain why he’d get McCrorie in on loan.Agreed. Just haven't heard any other name mentioned.
We've struggled with "name" goalkeepers coming in - Samson, Hutton, Main et al.
Bell is the most realistic experienced keeper shout but would presumably blow the remainder of the budget. As I say, it's such a crucial position but we've been burned so often.

I suspect the keeper deal has already been done, just waiting on 1st June for announcement.

I’d be very surprised if McCall hasn’t spoken to the majority of his targets let alone a goalkeeper.
He wouldn’t have went away on holiday without preparing for next season.McCrorie is the only name I've heard from the outer reaches of the inner sanctum. It's a worryingly crucial signing for this level, no problem with keeping the majority of the existing squad if we can sign the right keeper.

Chat from my Thistle mates is the same on Scully. Unused back up whose level these days would be League 1 or 2. Must be a short list of realistic goalkeeping targets though. Sure McCall has talked to his No.1 target, just not sure who it is...

That’s my preference I was going on the understanding that we’d play one of the top 2 home and away and vice versa with the weaker 2.
Fixtures get released week starting June 4th.
Shitey group but all perfectly decent away days TBF.

Live round the corner but never knew it was a pub frequented by Ayr fans. Will need to try it out.
Are you the guy with the Ayr United air freshener in your car? Everyone assumes that's mine.

Bell, Higgins, and rose are all good enough to keep at centre back.
I'd say two good full backs are the priority (ideally one that can also play centrally).
Other than that a gk and a central midfielder. I'd keep Kerr, Adams and doc (Kerr as a backup/coach and Adams as general superman figure).
We'd obviously need a strong striker if shanks doesn't sign.
So for me 4 players are essential - with replacements if anyone else leaves.
I reckon Ferguson and Boyle will probably leave - but can't think of anyone else that shouldn't be kept on.
But I very much trust the manager to make the right calls.
Quite agree on CB options. Add a Balatoni to that and we have a chance. Full backs are utterly essential. Cannae think of immediate candidates though.
Roundly agree with everything especially keeping Superman.

Pretty sure from Paddy's body language yesterday, he knows he's away.
Never have I loved such an average player more.
Goodnight sweetheart. May Cliftonhill worship you.
