To all loyal Pars fans I extend my best wishes.

I would not part with a penny until it was guaranteed the money would not end up in Masterton's pocket.

The £500k is to buy out the Club from the Administrator which would pay the CVA, assuming one is agreed.
In terms of what you get - it'll be the (hopeful) beginning of a new era for DAFC when a community owned, fan run, Club arises. So, technically, what we are getting for our £500k is a chance to save the Club we love and try rebuild it's tarnished reputation (rightly so, btw). For a community oe
wned Club, we'd need support from the whole area, which includes local businesses and shops which have probably lost a lot of money, sadly! it'll, understandably, take a long time for a lot of trust and respect to return for DAFC, so it won't be easy and a "quick-fix". As for the fans run, it's as it says on the tin. Again, for this to work, we need to reggain the trust and respect of our own supporters which've been neglected under Masterton; we need to make EEP an enjoyable place to come to on a Saturday afternoon, we need to get into a position where the fans are the most pivotal part of the Club and that we never get into this embarrassing shambles of a situation again. It's going to be a long road to recovery, but we're up for the fight. Yeah, we'll get called "cheaters" etc for years, decades, centuaries to come....but we recognise we've cheated and most genuine Pars fans are ashamed and quite rightly upset and hurt with how their Club has been run and treated other Clubs, fans, sponsors, local businesses etc. My hope is in years to come I have a team, a team I can be proud of (whatever level and standard) and a team who can be thought of in a good way because they treat others with the respect they deserve.
On a personal note, I'm sorry to all creditors, football and non football related. My hope, in a few years time once DAFC are (hopefully) a stable and viable business, outstanding monies can be repaid, or compromises found, such as free/cheaper advertising, for example.
I sincerely hope that the Pars survive but cannot help feeling that all the impressive fund raising by ordinary fans could prove to be in vain as the full story has yet to be revealed.
The big-money men have yet to make a move and are sitting in the background waiting for events to unfold.
God forbid that Pars find themselves in the same situation as Cowden, where the team is run solely by fans who have to accept any decision made by the owners. Cowden pay a rent to play at Central Park and a similar situation could arise at EEP, currently owned by Gavin Masterton. It would be a tragedy if he was to benefit in any shape or form from the current plight of DAFC.

Any chance Cowden can have the floodlights?
Any chance of Cowden getting the ground? Masterton will kill off the Pars while the Brewsters have already taken our stadium.
When Yorkston and Calderwood arrived to replace such sound football men like Woodrow and the Paton/Campbell set-up the game was a bogey. Their egos were sickening and Masterton was just as bad, overseeing the amazing amount of debt Pars now find themselves trying to battle.

Any Pars fan who gives Masterton money under any circumstances needs their head examined.
I sincerely hope that the Townies survive in some shape or form but that pompous ass must not be allowed to be part of the new beginning.

Who is the bigger fool? Masterton or Bob Purvis for believing in him?
. Must be a close call.

The baw's burst, I am afraid. And we all know the men responsible.
Idiots.

Probably because the chairman in waiting is Rodney Shearer.
My apologies. I thought he had done a runner as well.

Surely the Pars Supporters Trust are wasting their time in requesting answers from Masterton. They will be told what he wants to tell them and nothing more.
Why is chairman-elect Bob Purvis not clearing up this mess? Yorkston should be emptied immediately and let Purvis and his millions move in to restore some sanity. Or is Purvis waiting till everything goes belly up and then he can "save" the club.
Meanwhile, Leish and the other former directors have headed for the hills in case they are asked to take some responsibility for the state of the finances.
I hope the Pars survive but in my honest opinion they are on the brink and mastermind Masterton will be blamed for their downfall.

OK, I'll indulge you.
"Creditors wouldn't be "throwing good money after bad" by putting Dunfermline into administration because they've already handed that money over, with no guarantee of getting it back. Yet another bogus claim from a discredited poster."
Creditors who wanted to put us (i.e. DAFC Ltd) into Admin, would have to pay to petition the Court to appoint an Administrator. In other words, more "good money". Understand that bit?
Then, how do you suppose they would get anything back out of the insolvency process? It either goes to Liquidation or a CVA. In either case, DAFC Ltd owns very little in the way of assets - it's all under the banner of GM's other companies - so (i) there's not much that could be liquidated to provide a return for those Creditors, or (ii) GM has more than 75% of the CVA-qualifying debt so he has the final say.
You dont half talk some pissh. What is your day job? I think it should be made known in the interests of public health and safety. It obviously has feck all to do with running a business.

Pars fans are not being shown any respect by those in the know. There is far too much secrecy with the top men ready to take money from genuine fans but refusing to divulge the full facts about the financial situation. Even the auction is being held in secret!
I wonder if millionaire Bob Purvis knows the full financial picture. Surely the lecky bill is chicken feed to him and could have been settled without the begging bowl being put out.

Like it or not our club is in severe danger and need cash, if they don't get cash they'll die, surely even the thickest of Cowdenbeath fans can realise that?
Donating money to a club that needs money isn't that crazy, standing by and doing nothing about it and letting 125 years worth of history go down the shitter? that sounds more crazy to me, chances are if this shares thing comes to fruition I'll buy shares, I don't expect to make money from it and I'm certainly not doing it because I like Masterton and what he's done to the club, but I want a club to support, and holding money back isn't going to achieve that aim is it?
It is misguided fans like you who encourage the men responsible for the Pars predicament.
Do society a favour and give your dosh to CHAS.

Surely not even the thickest Townie fan would pay the resident monkeys money for a share of a multi-million pound debt.
I would love to see the Pars saved but donating money to the current regime is crazy - they have shown the rest of the football world how not to run a club.

I would not donate a single penny to DAFC until Masterston has gone. He and his big muppet have put the very existence of the club at severe risk and yet even today he is saying in the paper that fans should not worry. Aye right.

Well done Raith. Donald Findlay won't approve.
I think Donald Findlay might have made it clear that his view on the Rangers situation was a personal comment, and not the viiew of many Cowden fans.

Good luck Hibs.
The dream starts now.

I think those wages are wrong. I'm not aware of how much we're paying for Tosh and Hamilton but until January, our highest earner was £850 a week.
I disagree

According to the interview done in the MDM the directors all put up money when they bought the club and they haven't added to it or taken out any loans, players have already had their wages reduced or been off loaded, Nixon also said they're trying to get to a not spending more than they earn scenario but understandably it wont happen right away with all that's went on last season and the mess they have to clear up, the main thing is they aren't spending like lunatics (Massone style). With the rent being drastically cut and Trust members helping out doing whatever they can, things have been tightened up quite a bit from previous times, still not ideal but considering the mess we were in it's a big improvement.
Off course they have added to it. You dont seriously think they are paying wages up to £1100 a week on current income! Things will be really tightened up come the summer.

Given McDougall's admission that you aren't balancing the books this season, not to mention the money required for the CVA etc in the first instance, where's the money coming from / who is it owed to?
McDougall is subsidising the wages, just like he did at Cowdenbeath and also Dunfermline when he was there. I bet he cant wait to get shot of the player on £1100 a week and others in the £800 bracket. The other directors are also putting in hard cash so good luck to them - they deserve the title.

I chip in as much as I can
Like being a total p***k and one sad b*****d.
This is your one and only life - why waste it on all this shit?

It isn't the debt reduction scheme that pisses folks off, it's that little has been learned, the wheel is back on the train and it's careering down the hill out of control again! Do you really think the gang of 5 are pouring money in because they love Livi? I wonder what the balance of the directors loan account is at present? Which one of them will run out of money first and have to walk away leaving the others with the prize and how will that skew the loyaly to Livi?
I thought it was reduced rent? Not that it matters as you lot have never paid a years rent at the proper rate since you conned Meadowbank in to moving to Livi and killing them off.
It won't matter what the trust/volunteers do, it won't be enough, already you lot are getting carried away in the hot air baloon to the first division, after all isn't it your god given to be there
Sorted out come June now, I thought it was all going to be tickety boo come January?
Trust someone from Kelty to come up with this total pish.

No full-time team could realistically survive in the 3rd division, especially not 1 with the financial record of your club, administration beckons for a 3rd time me thinks
Absolute bollocks.
McDougall is one shrewd cookie and keeping Livi alive is a walk in the park for him compared to what he had to do to keep Cowden going for nearly 20 years.
If full-time football isnt feasible he will act at the first opportunity. If it is feasible then the books will balance.
PS This is a totally anti-Livi thread being kept alive because the Livi diehards keep posting. If they stopped posting the detractors would soon get fed up.

Fine and compo seem fair enough to me.
Wee McDougall has saved another club from extinction - full credit to him again after keeping Cowden afloat for 20 years. We could do with a couple of dozen like him in charge of our clubs.

Can't see there being any points deduction or fine.
Agreed.
Livi have been severely punished already and are now in safe hands. The rest of us should get over it and get on with supporting our own clubs.
