  1. Why is Paddy so bitter ? Is he pals with Stevie ?

Did he even apply for the job ?

Anyone got a link for Duffy interview I missed it today.
I understand he did apply. But don't see how he possibly could be bitter about being passed over.

I reckon there's been a beverage or two consumed during the Sunday games and someone didn't take his phone off him before he was let loose on Facebook!
  2. It was frank mead who made the decision I went down and asked him at half time and he said that a few fans had complained about the noise last week. When I questioned him he became quite aggressive. What chance have we got of attracting young fans with people like that in charge

That's so disappointing. What a joke.

Furious at the ineptitude and short-sightedness.

All bringing drums for QOS then?

  3. Seriously, good luck but it's emerging that there's a small but growing band who profess to support the club but would rather greet into their keyboards about prices than either turn up for games or make their point to the club.

Definitely. Short sighted people who don't realise how lucky they are to have a local, historic football club like ours. They'll lament when it's gone.

I wish it was as cheap as possible but I understand we have to compete in the market and I love our club that we all support.

Picture from my wife's instagram. Any reason Novo has our training top on? Surely we're not going down that road?

Surely he's just keeping fit via the Durrant connection or an extra pair of hands to dip his toe in the coaching water.

    Surely!

Plenty of Instagram opportunities in Australia.

What a weird few months for him. Leave us, sign for Raith, play in goals, retire, start business, unretire, nearly sign for East Kilbride, sign for Troon, play for Troon, agree on Facebook to a move to an Australian 5th Division team, secure said move, prepare to uproot your life to live on the other side of the planet.

I hope he's good at negotiating signing on fees.

Makes me dizzy reading that. What a peculiar fellow.

It seems like Aitken is a 'dead man walking'.

For fun only, who do you think would be within DFC's budget and would do a better job?

Obviously only out of work guys as DFC wouldn't be paying compensation.

    Take your pick.

From that list, Alex Rae and Ian Murray may have failed at St Mirren but given where that club is, isn't too much of a blemish. Can't see Murray entertaining the thought of a return though, especially if he is looking at an adventure in the fjords.

The audacious moves - Jamie Fullarton, Billy McKinlay and Paul Dickov

Ally McCoist has made noises about getting back into management, would certainly be high profile...

Neil Collins has set himself up a nice life in Tampa with his family but one can dream of a return as player manager. Joe Cole was on Soccer AM saying that he is very aggressive and intense so that would be good fun.

Aitken a dead man walking - dismissing the idea of him staying on in the event of a narrow relegation via the playoffs?

On the other side I found Wilson on Linkedin: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/ian-wilson-82950312 Can't say I've ever heard of eGo, but I did find this interesting

"Main Board Director of a Scottish Championship Football Club. DFC have been promoted twice since the new owners took control in 2008 and have ambitions to play in the Scottish Premier League and to build a new stadium suitable for The Sons of the Rock to display their skills to a bigger fan base"

So had a look into Ian Wilson and from what I gather he is an experienced consultant who has worked at boardroom level of large organisations. However, he has no football or sports experience outside of his time with DFC and I believe he is also based in Leeds.

Through his history working in Application Management he seems to have been involved in the creation of sports news website (http://www.ego4u.co.uk/) but that is dead with no updated since 11/15. Perhaps he is fully focused on DFC since that time?

It is my assumption that he has been a direct Brabco hire to oversee their interests.

In today's Reporter newspaper - "Aitken, I got my game plan wrong"

There's also a nice trip down memory lane with 2 pages on Martin Mooney, reminiscing about his 7 yrs @ Sons. :)

Can't get a copy of the Reporter right now - any chance of a cheeky scan job on the Martin Mooney piece? :)

Agree with others that our squad is looking pretty good at the moment and definitely has a better balance to it than last year, however I do wonder about the financial side of things. We have a squad of 21 players, with one of those out on loan - Stevie was adamant we could only run with a squad of 18 and since we reached that number we've added good quality loan players. Perhaps we've had investment from a sponsor to allow that, which would be great, but the picture painted 6 weeks ago doesn't really resemble the painting we have now.

Regarding the financials, I am confident that the club is running in the prudent manner we would expect even with the increased squad. I would be extremely disappointed if we were taking any risks. I propose that Stevie's comments around a max squad size of 18 may have been a bit of bluffing. Given the way the Stanton deal went through (Hibs holding out for more money and us digging our heels, as was suggested), by holding the party line that we have limited budget it may have helped in dealings with other clubs.

Plus its technically only 20 players as Todd will only be paid expenses due to being on an amateur contract.

  10. According to reporter today Aitken can only afford a squad of seventeen or eighteen players with only one or two loanees . Record is saying docherty will definitely sign. Aitken is dying budget is tighter than last year but he has players in mind to fill squad which could be smallest in league.

I'm all for a more streamlined squad. It makes sense but I would expect the loanees and remaining 3 or 4 signings (beyond Docherty's hopeful signature) to be of good quality. Raith's new signature Chris Johnston, who is quite a capture in my eyes, will be coming up against us for example and if Nade is a no then I hope there are decent alternatives in the pipeline. Tight budget means Stuart Miller has to have a good list of options from his scouting done to date.
