  1. Excellent result today! First half was very scrappy and frustrating at times, but the 2nd half was much better. Craigens goal was an absolute rasper, can't wait to see that back on the highlights. Exactly what we needed after 2 poor results (Falkirk I can live with, but Stenny was atrocious!!). Boys will be well up for the Hamilton game now I hope! And the clean sheet, always a bonus. Davo done well at centre half, but very harsh on Bates, unless Ray Mac is keeping him fresh for Tuesday.

  2. Also, did Finnie stop the game to book one of our players for foul and abusive language towards the end? Seemed a bit ridiculous to do so. The game was raging on and we were about to go on an attack, yet he stopped the play for it.

Aye that was 1 of the strangest moments I've ever witnessed at a game of football, just stopped play and booked Callaghan I'm sure it was. Could've just seen out the attack, and waited until we scored (/ball went out of play) and then booked the player.

  3. Was a fairly average game today, a fair result would have been the draw. The booking on Bene in the 1st half was an absolute shocking decision, considering what Baird was doing. Didn't even give Bene any warnings previous to it, can't argue with the 2nd yellow, but still should've have been on the park.

The ref I felt was very inconsistent today, would give the run of the mill fouls but wouldn't give the more serious ones (normally when trying to let the run of play go, it's the other way about haha).

The sending off changed the game, but for whatever reason, we just sat off Falkirk from that point onwards, was very poor up until the last few minutes.

Davo should've burst the back of the net with his effort at the end, that would've felt like a win if that went in I think.

For me, I'd drop Anderson for Tuesday's game, he was murder today.

And the super human that is Toshney just keeps on going, rolled his ankle again about 5mins into the game and ran it off - mental!! Also my MOTM.

  4. Talking of mysterious people coming in just for the 2nd half, there's a gent in his mid-late 50's that I've noticed that comes in for the 2nd half, and I thought it was him you were speaking of but he had the RemembeR top on, he did have a backpack on though. Last set of stairs in the South Stand closest to the Railway stand.

At least he seen McKeown's rasper!

  5. A few points from today aside from the game being utter poison.

    1. The trialist was abysmal, genuinely wouldn't get a game for Dysart!

    2. We were very lackadaisical today, some of they short passes weren't meeting the receiving player, and from through ins - the pass back was just non existent. Both basic things.

    3. We were back to the old ways of bypassing the midfield at times too, and that's 1 thing I've really enjoyed from the 3 previous friendlies that we've tried to play from the back forward.

    4. We need a striker (as mentioned by everyone!)

  6. A ridiculous amount of negativity on this today, I really don't understand it. Aberdeen have played 2 European ties, and 2/3 friendlies(?), we were the better team the first half.

2nd half from the hour mark we were very tired and that's when Aberdeen chucked their first team on, big game changer in my opinion. But that was only our 2nd game - so much positives to take from the game. Especially playing teams of a much higher level.

As for the young boy Wighton, folk on here are being very harsh on him. Leave him be, as the Dundee boys are saying, it'll only be a matter of time, and you can see he's got an exceptional talent.

Dundee on Wednesday, hopefully we'll see a home goal haha

  7. Yes they are local & no they don't just wait for Hearts games, I know some of them & I'm saying no more!

I personally think you should say more and let the police aware of these people*. Obviously interested in scrapping and not the football, absolutely nae place for that in my opinion!! Get them to f*ck before they start bringing a bad name anywhere near the club.

    *fannys!

  8. Really good interview by the new gaffer, I like how he says he'll use any formation to get the W. Hopefully we become a really hard, difficult & frustrating team to play when we're away from home. At home hopefully a more attacking mentality which I think he'll bring.

Off the cuff question, anyone know the name of the song on the intro to the Raith TV interviews?

  9. Right enough, completely forgot about the pitch! Away fixtures could be a go then...

As for the new gaffer, I still think it'll be Derek Adams (I'd also back that despite him being a massive p***k). But I'm glad the club isn't rushing into anything, having said that, I think someone needs to be appointed within the next 2-3 weeks.

  10. The news of Callaghan signing an extension and not wanting to move to an SPL team is absolutely brilliant news.

Reading the comments on this, I had no idea Hearts were looking to offload so many players if we can snap up 1 or 2 of them, that would be superb business but as previously mentioned probably out with our budget.

Hopefully Malpas has something up his sleeve for the close-season for transfers/signings.

  11. I felt a bit frustrated today, some great stuff and some really really poor stuff. For a while a simple 6 yard pass was just nonexistent- crazy! Still plenty positives; Callaghan & Vaughan were superb, Stewart also played well today. Fox was ok in spells, but seemed to be as terrible as ever the rest of the time. Surely a youth could've come off the bench to replace him? Wasn't a great game from Anderson either, looked tired! 3 points is 3 points as they say though.

Ambitious shout but a win on Tuesday and a win against Hibs on Saturday, are we back in with a shout of 5th? (Probably not haha)
