  1. He is (or was) an upcoming contestant on Britain's Got Talent (or the X Factor, I can't remember).
  2. This could be a mistake and if not I assume it's an independent running under a certain banner but apparently for the Aberdeenshire Council, a candidate running in Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside is named Anne Reid and she's running on a 'No Reid' ticket. Eh?! I've seen a few candidates running being referred to as 'No Label' but I assume they're essentially independents who just haven't declared themselves as such and are essentially unaligned (ie - independents under another name). But 'No Reid'?! What the heck is that?
  3. Not quite but I do see there's someone running under a 'No Referendum' banner for Angus council (I think).
  4. They had a councillor in Fife (who'd been on the go for years) up until recently if I remember right.
  5. A quick search there and it turns out RISE are still a thing....albeit a small thing. They have a candidate running in Motherwell West. Also not in my area, but I see in Shettleston there's a Social Democratic Party candidate standing.
  6. That's a really strange one. Very much a Glasgow-based party except for the one candidate running in Sutherland. My basic understanding of them is that they're a pro-independence outside the EU party which is a gap in the market, but I can't see them getting anywhere. That's right! A symbol of the devil supposedly. A quick Google search of Donald Boyd's name though reveals he was sacked by the Inverness Free-Presbyterian Church some years ago for some less-than-Christian behaviour. I presume RISE are no more but the SSP are standing in the Nairn/Cawdor ward next week. Solidarity are standing again in Glasgow by the looks of things.
  7. Time for us to look at some of the more...'alternative' candidates in your area for these upcoming elections. For some reason Inverness always has at least one Christian Party candidate at every election. Donald Boyd, who seems one of their only candidates, is running for the council in Inverness South again. They want to ban abortion, gay marriage and bring back the death penalty. A 2004 Scotsman article also claims that Mr Boyd believes that Radio 1 is 'the devil's music'. I see the SSP are back again and standing in Nairn and a lot more Green candidates by the looks of things this time too. In the Highlands at the last council elections, there were TUSC and Scottish Senior Citizens candidates. Don't seem to be standing this time though. Are there unusual candidates near you in the running?
  8. The National is the quintessential definition of a good idea executed poorly.
  9. I don't follow either, but are Scotzine and Agent Scotland (or whatever he's called) the same person...or to put it bluntly the fellow Muirhead who ran Scotzine before? Similar accounts anyway.
  10. I saw someone mention US Soccer Guy yesterday. I haven't seen that page since the last World Cup. It was alright at times in the beginning but the guy should've given up long ago.
  11. OldFirmFacts is another one of these accounts where the best will always get RTed anyway. Angry Salmond and the Celtic/Rangers Meltdown pages are others that fall into that category. I'm sure I followed Angry Salmond and OldFirmFacts for a while and for every good tweet, there was probably about ten that didn't hit the mark and that got a bit boring after a while.
  12. Do they not? I'm sure they used to. (Thought it might be biased Dundee United fan! )
  13. Just signed Billy Mckay for Caley Thistle and whoever has done the stats for them has gotten it all over the place. Pace, work rate, finishing and team work are all pretty low while penalty taking is 16! What on Earth?!
  14. I remember when Brill signed on loan from Luton for us the first time I saw him was in a pre-season friendly 9-0 win away to Keith. It was a boiling hot day and there were cows grazing in the field literally twenty feet behind one of the goals! Anyway, Brill played the second half and looked like a tubby supporter in goal. After getting into the team though he seemed to become a lot leaner very quickly and in the end was a great keeper for us. I've seen a few ICT fans saying they'd like him back but whether or not he'd be the same keeper he was I'm not sure. He's barely played in 18 months and had an absolutely horrific injury. Was in our end the last time we were played at NDP so he still has some rapport with the fans.
  15. I started following Graham Lineham recently and I honestly think he was unfollowed within about three days. He's on a never-ending tweeting marathon.
  16. Christ knows how he makes a living. Seems to be on Twitter all day and what I've read of his blogs they're just unreadable. Self-obsessed, paranoid drivel.
  17. Bad start of the new year for me. I've been retweeted by Phil Mac...mac...whatever his name is.
  18. But maybe everything that dies, someday comes back. Put your make-up on, fix your hair up pretty and meet me tonight in Atlantic City...
  19. Is that the Killie fan who tweets about 100 times a day?
  20. There's a Channel 4 advert just now for some kids Christmas cartoon film called 'We're Going On A Bear Hunt'. There's a bit where some kids start signing in a very twee middle class English accent 'We're going on a bear hunt, what a beautiful day!' and it makes me want to die!
  21. This social media feed is a bit naff. Everytime I bring in a player on trial, no-matter who it is, you're guaranteed to see 'Yes, he'd be great' or 'Oh no, he's rubbish'. On top of that, as Caley Thistle manager I got drawn against Buckie, Peterhead, Dumbarton and Forfar and one fan wrote 'No chance of winning the cup now'! Not very positive!
  22. Jim Spence was one of the better pundits when he was on Radio Scotland and his Twitter at that time was a bit more interesting. Now it just seems to be daft wee jokes and stories and constantly playing to the gallery.
  23. Had to unfollow Jim Spence. He just doesn't say anything interesting anymore.
  24. I've started off as Caley Thistle manager. Our second pre-season game was against Selkirk. Garry O'Connor was on the pitch but also in the dugout...
  25. One mistake (or more lack of inclusion) I've noticed is Charlie Christie is Head of Youth Development at Caley Thistle but I see he isn't included in the game again this year.
