  1. I'd be amazed if it wasnt a west team, specifically a CSAFL team that wins it
The better central scottish premier teams will be hard to beat.
I think from the other leagues in the west you would be looking at hurlford thistle, shortlees, dumbarton academy, thorn, goldenhill and Oban having the potential to win it.
Don't know much about the East so can't comment on any potential winners from there
  2. What do we see as tie of the round then folks?
St Pats v Doune Castle looks on paper a good tie , think St Pats will progress but u never know in a 1 off game.
Nothing else really jumping out at me.
St Pat's will have no problems beating Doune Castle. Would expect them to win by at least 3 or 4
  3. Guys ! Not much Happenin on the Caley Chat, early pace setters, who’s looking title contenders And what about the big Premier Division clash tomorrow between Dumbarton FP’s and Giffnock North - the last 2 unbeaten teams in the division ?
    Gimme your thoughts
Should be a good game tomorrow. Both teams started the league well. Dumbarton maybe with the slight edge being at home. I will go 3-1 dumbarton
  4. Thorn
    Giffnock
Dumbarton (would change that if it's true about them losing a number of players though)

    Milton
    Cambusbarron
    Kilsyth
2/3 games into the season already and that prediction about the top 3 in the premier looks like it could be bang on.

St Mungo's also started well after getting promoted last year
  5. How will the promoted teams fair in the premier division next season. Milngavie, Eaglesham, East Kilbride and St Mungo's. Will the aim be to avoid relegation?
Will 1st and 2nd from the last 2 seasons Thorn and Dumbarton run away with it again?

  6. Not sure what the alternative would be - an Argyll league?
Helps having your own mini bus but great commitment over the years to go to all the away fixtures and not just let some of them go unfulfilled when there was nothing to play for in the league.
They haven't had a home league fixture since they played St Joe's in November.
One of the youth teams a couple of years ago even played all their fixtures away to get into a better league. That's how much up here they want to play in a good standard of league.

I don't know the alternative. I do understand the commitment it takes from them and fair play to them. Not only at amateur level but also their youth teams.
I'm not trying to slag Oban off or do them an injustice. Im just not sure it's fair to ask teams from the Glasgow area to travel up there to play a league game some 100 miles away. Only my opinion though
  7. St Pats have to be strong favourites now, had a good run of games against some of the lesser teams in the league and they have put the points on the board.
Think only other teams that can really win it are colville and bburn but I expect Colville to reach Scottish final and bburn atleast the semi's of West so there focus may not be on league.
1st divisions r taking shape now , dropped points for Gartcosh yesterday will hurt there challenge, uddy anvil now look favourites for 1a.  Fallin in a strong position at the top of 1b with a number of teams waiting to pounce on any slips ups , they may all have to battle it out for a playoff place though.
Be interesting to see how it all pans out over the next 2 months.
St Pat's done well to win every game except one so far.
Bannockburn got a tough game this weekend in the west against Cale champions Dumbarton Academy.
Lots of games for Bannockburn and Colville to catch up on. Playing 3 games a week at the end of the season could harm both their chances of catching St Pat's
  8. Some big games in the premier this weekend. Top 6 play each other so points will be dropped in each game
    Thorn v Cambria
    Wishaw v Dalziel
    Dumbarton v Giffnock

The 2 bottom teams play each other
    Milton v Strathclyde Uni

Also good luck to Glasgow Uni who are at home to Eastfield in the quarter final of the Scottish.

  9. No chance of st pats sacking there manager watched them on Saturday vs maryhill thistle very good outfit class players all over the park and must fancy themselves for silverware this season.sad to see another manager leave his job that’s Bridgewater and drummy ams in the last couple of weeks
They usually do fancy themselves for silverware but always seemto end up short. Getting over that final hurdle seems to be a bit of a problem for them. When was the last time they won something?
