1. I take it clyde fans are under the impression that Dumbarton control the weather forecast

It would seem so. And that we wanted the game postponed and deliberately affected it because we’re so feart of big, bad Clyde and their far superior footballing prowess. Wee flowers that they are.
  2. Not sure if buster is a poster on here, but it’s clear with your post as someone who would have been at game today , that every effort was made but the efforts were just simply not good enough . Incompetence it is . Any Dumbarton fan on here needs to accept that the only numpties on here are from their club

Just because efforts haven’t been sufficient doesn’t mean it’s incompetence as a result.

Some Clyde fans have an absolute minter here.
  3. Really glad that God (who we all know is a Son) dropped all that rain on the pitch so we can avoid a Saturday afternoon game with the superpower that is Clyde F.C. So much to be feared so at least we don’t need to pit our wits against them this early in the season. What a relief.

We all get to do the gardening and go for the week’s shopping now, thank goodness.

  4. Twas not my rumour I'm afraid, think ewan_fife was to blame for it. Last I read Ferguson was training with Falkirk.
Duffy is not the sort to give anything away transfer wise. He might say "We've got deals agreed with three or four in principal" or "I'm hoping to get one over the line later in the week" - but he won't give names or anything until it's signed, sealed and registered. Quite different to his predecessor in that regard.

In regards to your last sentence, for ‘different read ‘better’ imo.
  5. I can’t make it tomorrow due to other commitments. But I had completely forgotten about that farce with the 1 turnstile at the start of the season. Do Dumbarton do that to every club, just because there’s only like 50-100 away fans? Surely when you take 100+ it’s time for the turnstiles at the other end to be open, they were always open when we were both in the Championship? I’d imagine Falkirk probably took a decent away crowd also, was that game down to 1 turnstile also?

We had to put up two additional temporary stands for Falkirk when they came, such was their colossal number.
  6. To be fair to him, it's not as if he's ever had much in the way of pace to lose.

Pace isn’t the only aspect though. If he is to return, hopefully he looks in better shape as well and shows more desire.

Im in favour of him returning. I don’t think he’s necessarily what we need but someone who poses a significant threat to the opposition, particularly from set pieces, then we’re not in a position to not go for it if the opportunity presents itself.
  7. Just going back to the point about Kris Doolan from a day or so ago. He’s left us and apparently isn’t signing for Partick so you might be in with a shout.

I’d be delighted with Doolan but as with Bell, I can’t imagine we’d be able to offer the wages he’d be after.

Jones is a positive though. He’s a striker. Tick. He’s physical. Tick. He’s a body we badly need. Tick.
