John Sutton was lined up to come in at the end of January but Jack Ross pulled the plug at the last minute. I imagine that left very little time for a replacement.

Right from day one Barry Smiths appointment was very underwhelming and very unpopular within the vast majority of the Rovers support. Yet IMO the Rovers board have again made a disastrous appointment and has cost us dear .
As a manager what has he done
Chance to go up as champs with the Rovers Shat the bed then a chance with the play-offs totally shat the bed again
Nothing at Alloa
Nothing at Aldershot
Nothing at East Fife
Inherited a Dundee team and never done much with them
I’m actually amazed the BOD managed to appoint Ray McKinnon because that’s to much of an inspiring appointment that. What next for the Rovers stick with the current manager who the fans hate from the tactics , style of football, No plan B etc and give him more money to waste or cut our loses get rid of most of the prima donnas and appoint a young hunger manager who likes playing attacking entertaining football it’s over to you Mr Sim and Sinton
What would you say if you had won the championshipast week.

It has been a terrible end to the season for Raith but to call the manager a pathetic human is out of order. Would you say that to his face? Would you hell.
A wee keyboard warrior hiding behind your mummys apron strings no doubt.
It is football. Not life or death.

Andy Webster. David Clarkson. Sean Dillon.

But you want the manager who finished fifth in the league ? In terms of league position was Barry Smith the highest placed manager to apply ?
He didn't apply.0 -
I'm sure the Rovers job was interesting Stevie.Hopefully less so now they are in League 1.
Hopefully he will sign with us rather than drop down a league for a full time role. If not, he is not irreplaceable and life will go on. An early decision one way or the other would be helpful though.
He was interviewed and lost out to Locke last Summer. I'm sure he will be on their radar again but would he be interested?

Kevin mcgoldrick just announced on twitter that he's decided to leave the club
The Board were told that he wasn't staying a couple of weeks ago. He didn't resign.0 -
Barry Smith.

The great clear out begins....
Who is in pole position to take the managers hot seat??
John McGlynn0 -
Aye says on Wikipedia.
How do you know he has signed?
I knew because the Manager told me.0 -
He played with St Mirren for the second half of last season.

Hi Well fans...I wondered if anyone could tell me what the seat numbers go up to in the Main Stand per row. 1 - ???
We've got seats 69-74 for the Irn Bru Final and wondered if that's at the side of the stand or more central.0 -
Was a good run but you are really down to the bare bones now. Be good for the Manager to get the ones he wants for next season tied down along with a few new players.

I believe Smith has only 12 outfield players available for Saturday's trip to Peterhead. Going to be tough to stay in play offs with such a small squad.

After a quick Google...
The previous 'triple-punishment' rule meant that a player who denied a goal-scoring opportunity was automatically red-carded and handed a suspension, as well as giving away a penalty.
However, the law has now changed so that players committing accidental fouls, that deny a goal-scoring opportunity, are not automatically sent off, but cautioned instead.
HTH.
Thanks for this. He didn't get cautioned either.0 -
Thought St Mirren were lucky to keep 10 men on the park at the first penalty. If it's a foul then he's denying a goal scoring opportunity. So that's a red card.

Maybe I'm biased but why would he leave us when he has a nice we set up going , and he just named his assistant, if he left for Raith he would be joining a team that potentially could end up in D1 next season
One reason and one reason only, Full Time job!0 -
He was interviewed by RR in the Summer and was close to being appointed. His stock will have risen now with his good start at Methill.

1/5 Darren young with mcbookie. I would be disappointed if he were to get the position. Surely a manager with experience in the championship is needed. Given our current slide towards the relegation places this is not the time to be appointing a manager who has zero experience of managing a full time team.
We appointed a rookie manager and look where we've ended up.0 -
You guys have nothing to worry about. We have no chance whatsoever of catching you even if you don't get another point this season. Prepare for next season.

Lee McCulloch might buy you some elbow room but Barry Smith seems to have got his act together since joining East Fife, although it's maybe a wee bit early to be sure.
Smith was close when Locke was appointed along with Aitken. Both have done fairly well since the Summer.0 -
Barry Smith please so East Fife can be in turmoil on Saturday!!!!

Sutton was in the stands at a game at St Mirren Park and he was all set to go to Raith on the Monday but it all went sour on the Sunday. It was 100% on.
