  1. Best performance of the season for me.

Couple of caveats: QotS were awful.

Second, and somewhat related, we scored early enough we could control the game.

Queens were negative as anything, but at least to begin with I get that: we usually dominate possession but often don’t move the ball quickly enough or move intelligently enough to cause a deep, narrow defence any issues.

Johnston took it to the extreme, and once we scored the second I knew it was over - which is not a common experience watching Killie.

But if they score that chance when we were asleep at the start of the second half, then sit in again, it could have been different.

Not trying to be negative, we were by far the better team and as I said it was our best showing of the season. But I wonder what would have happened if we hadn’t scored early enough to undermine Johnston’s only plan (I.e just put everyone behind the ball and hope for a 0-0 or a goal on the break)

  2. Manuel Pascali - always a lot of time for fans. Remember an event for James Fowler's testimonial and the Killie Standard guy was trying to get a picture of Paska. Kept getting ruined by him inviting drunk fans into the frame

Chris Sutton - Comes across as a miserable b*****d but think he's just got a very dry sense of humour. Met him at some sponsor's event he was doing and he stood talking to a few of us about football for a good 45 mins. Also full of praise for the Killie Pie.

Kris Boyd - more of a second hand one but remember him being in the Park Hotel, was eating lunch with his wife so my mates and I opted not to bother him. Some guy went up and started giving it "Boydy how did you get a wife like that? You're punching son." Boyd sort of laughed it off but it was clearly a complete stranger, and tbh he'd have been within his rights to tell him to f**k off.

Jim Craig of Lisbon Lions fame - just a properly lovely guy

For the first time ever, I feel sorry for Lennon.

These self-important, IRA-loving, pluke covered teenagers that call themselves 'The Green Brigade' need a fucking baw kicking. Each and every beige parka wearing one of them.

Very reminiscent of Rangers fans turning on McCoist.

Fair enough wanting Lennon out but given they held a fecking candlelit vigil for him in living memory you might think they'd be less vitriolic about it.

Went back to the start of this thread for the lols, and this reminded me of something. One of the highlights of the game for me was Milinkovic-Savic hoofing a wildly slashed clearance over his own box, from one side to the other, at approximately the altitude of the International Space Station.

His head was gone and it wasn't a surprise when he was hooked.

I was right about the #juggernaut though

Yeah. That’s me. A real neocon.    The white middle class Bernie Bros are quite happy to blame non-whites for not voting. The reality is Biden is massively ahead with the African-American community.  The people most likely to vote for Trump are in the states which suffer most from his incompetence, both home and abroad.   And the people most likely to abstain are the Michael Moore types who took their ball home when Bernie lost out.

Trump’s vote is highly motivated.  Biden’s is not. That’s why Bernie or Bust is a morally bankrupt position to take.  The Democrats are not as bad as the Trump administration.   This isn’t about what Michael Moore thinks, at this point.  It’s about restoring a modicum of decency to the White House.  Of course, you think it’s all one thing or the other. If its not exactly what you think, there’s no point in voting.  Life ain’t like that.  Bernie or Bust = Tacit Trump.

The answer to anyone who isn’t trying to be proved right whatever the result is, of course, to defeat Trump and then challenge Biden from a position of power, as Cornell West has said.

I believe Michael Moore has been very insistent that people should vote for Biden.

And in 2016 he made a whole film about why people should vote for Hillary.

Whatever you think of him he isn't and never has been 'Bernie or Bust'.

Latest gaffe from the *** Biden is that on a telecast speech he states that 200 million Americans have died due to Covid, the actual figure is 200,000!

Clown against Clown, it's a fuckin joke.

I'm not sure this is the gotcha the GOP think it is.

Yes, Biden is clearly not all there anymore and tbh it's shameful he's even running.

But try playing that on an advert.

"Ha, Joe Biden thinks 200 million Americans died from COVID! What a fool, it's actually only 200,000!"

I mean imagine someone like Ronaldo. How many times do you think he's been tested in his life?  A thousand?  Something like that?  Its just not feasible that he could ever have taken anything and got away with it, he'd have been caught years and years ago.

Maradona tried it in 94 and got done straight away. Sine die. Football at the very top level is ultra clean, much more than almost every other sport, because its the biggest sport by far so its very highly regulated and there's so much money involved. Nobody is taking drugs and getting away with it at a decent level of the game, its just not possible.

“I have never doped … I have competed as an endurance athlete for 25 years with no spike in performance, passed more than 500 drug tests and never failed one.” - Lance Armstrong

if you think there is no doping in football you are hopelessly naive

What you've linked very much points to a 3-0 win.

You only have to have 13 players (one of them being a goalkeeper) for the match to go ahead.

If players are quarantined, pulled out etc you can name basically anyone to play:

    Quote

the match will go ahead as scheduled as long as the team has at least 13 players available (including at least one goalkeeper), irrespective of any other provision of the respective competition’s regulations (including the deadline for the submission of the list of players), provided that all players are eligible to represent the Under-21 or the relevant national team in accordance with the applicable FIFA regulations and have been tested negative

I.e they don't have to have been named in the squad. They just need 13 players eligible for the Czech Republic.

If a team can't name 13 players - any eligible players, not just ones in the squad - the priority is to reschedule.

The Czechs announced after a game they'd just played that they wouldn't be playing the second. Presumably the players who faced Slovakia passed the COVID tests or they wouldn't be allowed to play.

    Therefore:

    Quote

The national association that is responsible for the match not taking place or not being played in full will be declared to have forfeited the match

  9. For all Messi was bad - and he was - he creates the second goal with a pass from deep and OG aside was basically Barcelona's only threat in the first half.

Which is not to defend his performance, which by the end was an absolute disgrace.

I'm always loath to accuse footballers of not trying, but he literally wasn't at the end. Just walking about with his head down and not even trying to get involved.

I understand he's getting on a bit and can't press like he used to, and I'm not expecting him to be making blocks in his own box, but he just wasn't doing anything.

Supposedly went to Ibiza with his family recently, but no idea if that’s true.

Edit - sorry misread the story. It is his family that are just back from Ibiza, so unless they’re staying with him, which they not be, he should be ok. However, if they are all staying together, it won’t be ok.

Don't think his family stays with him in Scotland. So unless he's been down to England to see them, which with Rangers having been in France and then playing games seems unlikely, I imagine it's fine.

  11. Thought we were superb today, aside from a shite bit of goalkeeping we never looked like conceding.

The midfield absolutely strolled it, Kabamba was immense and Burke is like a fine wine, such an intelligent player.

Still think we need a bit more creativity in the side for when we're not facing the OF, but if we can add that - and a competent goalkeeper - I think we'll have a good season.

Good to see trump trying to diffuse the situation....him and his advisors are nuts but it plays up to his base and that is what last night was all about

That and he's so thin-skinned he'll have been fuming about people making fun of him for hiding in his bunker.

Therefore he had to make a big show of going outside, while getting his goons to clear the protestors of course.
