Latapy? Tosh was outstanding for the 6 months we had him in McCall's team
You are rattling off players who we just can't afford now or refuse to pay for FFS. I really wish fans would get their collective heads around we will not get any quality from the South unless we stump up the cash. Cheap players from abroad looking for a stepping stone will go to English lower leagues as they are paying 4 times + what we will offer.
It is easy for us all to say go and get players from England having no knowledge of either what we are prepared to pay of what we have to pay. Players will get more in the conference in England than with us.
Stevie Tosh was a while ago, maybe I'm being revisionist here but I thought he wasn't interested for most of his games for us. Played well for the first couple of games and then looked like he couldn't be bothered, to top it off once he left he was mouthing off in the press that we had lied to all our players about getting promoted and all our players contracts should be ripped up, the man was a tool for us.

We never do our business early. It seems to be the younger/newer supporters that are getting their yfronts in a knot.
Aye and maybe last summer had a world cup and referendum to keep you occupied and there's nothing this year.

For the first time in years, we have a relatively settled team with only a few tweaks required.
The likes of Raith and Livi sign a new team every season. That's not the way I would wanted.
The season after we went down and lost 18 players whilst signing 9 was maybe exciting for some, but for me, continuity is what's required.
Add to that, I would rather the club advise us of signings once they have signed on the dotted line.
Those needing the club to.tell us we are looking at players need to get a grip. It's blatantly obvious that is what will be happening.

You can understand folk getting impatient though, this feels like the longest close season in history.

I can get on board with the idea of Liam Craig recapturing some good form with us and working out as a signing, worry is it's another local reject we're taking from the scrap heap.
Please please please sign a couple of strikers from further afield.

Cooper in my mind hasn't been given enough game time by the Ginger Man, and Smith doesn't cut it, hooked in the semi & final because he was ineffective, and for someone who has pace to burn.....I haven't seen it yet!!!
We definately need at least 2 strikers, a goalie if Jamie goes, although in saying that, Bowman might do a job if given a chance,and people for some reason say that we need a new RB, personally thought Kieran was/has been doing a good job for a few seasons now.
With John Baird starting his 1st full season with the Mighty Bairns you might just see another 20 goal season from 1 of our strikers!! thoughts????
I thought Duffie was a good right back but fear he has gone off the boil, can be suspect defensively and timid going forward. To be fair to him he has had a while out with injury and might come good but even before then he had started to fade. Could be that a new club is what he needs, he reminds me of Tam Scobbie, thought he was good when he was establishing himself but then he just seemed to lose a bit of his sharpness and was time to move on.
Would like to see Baird have a good season, we need a couple new strikers for him and Biabi to mix with, at least one with some experience.

Cooper is frustrating.
He has loads of technical ability however just disappears in games.
Smith however does little for me.
Agreed, Cooper has shown glimpses of something. I wouldn't be sad if he hung around for another season to see if he can start to make a proper impact.
Smith I feel sorry for because he has tried hard in games, but the quality really isn't there. It doesn't justify some of the abuse he has had from some folk but it does justify us not wasting anymore time on him.

Thoughts on David Clarkson for next season?
Not a source just a genuine question.
I hope we don't sign him, he doesn't score enough goals, we've got folk that can do that already.
We need to sign someone to replace Loy's goals, preferably of the previous season's tally. If we just sign local differs we'll do nothing this season. I know signing a goalscorer is easier said than done but we shouldn't be signing folk we know aren't going to do it. Houstie has something to prove with this season's signings, fingers crossed we're aiming for better.

If Leahy does go we need to sign a LB. not convinced with Dick.
Dick looked pretty good first few games of the season but against Hibs in the last league game he didnae look confident at all, hesitant, poor passing, and positioning. Could be because he has been kept out the team for so long and he can build himself back up to better form, but if Leahy goes I dinnae fancy us gambling on him getting better, Leahy would definitely need replaced.

Not bad. Well, apart from Duffie being mince now even when he is fit. And we're playing pretty well in a lot o the games just now, changing things up would be daft.
If we were struggling though, I'd like us to try this.
