Was not aware Sukar was at York City

Nor was I but I wish him good luck. He contributed to our league winning season so will always have a place in Lichtie history. Decent enough lower league player and being at York will mean his mum and girlfriend will put in a lot less miles each weekend to watch him. Thanks for your contribution Jas.

  2. An update on the riduclulous situation re no physio when Doris went off.

The physio is on holiday and the Club attempted to get one from an agency. There were none available so they approached Queens Park who agreed that their physio would be available for both teams. However the sore losing wegie b*****ds reneged on the agreement when their dirty twat number 5 took Stevie out after the whistle.

I hope their manager and the number 5 have a hedgehog for their next shite!!

Think all the work Bri Cargill's putting in really helps, see a lot of kids in Arbroath tops kicking about the town now.

Completely agree. I think Brian has been a real inspiration and his efforts are really paying off. I hope people appreciate what he does for the club.

i too have been pleased with the amount of kids I have seen in and around the town in Arbroath shirts this summer. Can't remember seeing so many before.

    Enjoyed that.

Nervy first half, but what a crackin last 30 minutes. TOB was phenomenal, easily my MOTM despite denholms goals.

Gold did really well on the left, great strike for his goal too. Glad McCord got the full 90, as he needs it. Showed a few flashes of what he's capable of.

Omar is going to struggle for a game this year. Malin looked ok going forward, but was a bit worrying at times in that position. Hopefully we can get a good loan in to give us more cover at full back, as neither he or Jamie Henry are convincing enough.

Not much to say about Hutton - had nothing to do.

Thoughts prunts looked OK, great to see his wee pep talk to Denholm as he came on. Clearly worked! Glad he's in the squad as he seems to be great for morale.

And well done Danny! Looking forward to more of the same.

Exactly my thoughts. Couldn't have put it better myself. The only thing I would have added, was I was a bit disappointed with Yule after the previous games. Not his best game and gave the ball away far too often. Though I still think that he is quality but just had an off day today..

So that's ok to be a dick to the supporters that made a journey to see him and his side?

I know this is dragging up a week-old thread, but I have been off-line for a bit.

Why was he being a dick? Why was he in the terracing? Did fans really make the journey to see him?

I would suggest that the reason he was in the terracing was because he wanted to get a view and perspective on his players, having missed the previous 3 games. Remember, he tends to sit in the stand 1st half at Gayfield then movevto the touchline for the 2nd. So I suspect that he was doing the job that he is paid to do, and was watching and assessing the squad. If he was constantly taliking to fans, shaking hands, posing for selfies, then he is hardly doing his job.

FFS!. Leave the man alone. He led our club to the league championship just over 2 months ago so he must be doing something right. Why do some fans always feel the need to get on his back all the time?

  6. Good performance again by Arbroath and the late substitutions changed the shape of the game, and subsequent result. If only Hester had scored just before the equaliser it would have been a fairer reflection on ten quality of the 2 sides.  Not impressed with Dundee and I wonder if Neil McCann will regret his u-turn. Think they will struggle again this season.

Great turnout in the sunshine and the Club obviously learned a lesson from Thursday night by opening up both pie shops, though still huge queues at both. But does anyone know why they haven't had the bar open at either game? Missing a trick there surely.

Kader and Swankie and Prunty and Malin.

I reckon a back up keeper and another  defender (local boy Kerr Waddle on loan from Dundee FC??) would complete the squad.

I thought last night we played excellent and our fitness levels were also very good, remember we were playing against a very good Aberdeen FC who are the 2nd best team in Scotland and they played their full 1st team.

Great signing is Yule who i thought was our best player on the night (although everybody played well) and what about Kane Hester, absolute brilliant when he came on and he caused them loads of problems, he seems to have filled out a bit and he is a "pest" given defenders no time on the ball, really hope DC gives him more chances this season and does not loan him out again, he is an excellent impact sub and with 8 subs on the bench this season we need a big squad.

All in all looking good with 2 hard friendlies coming up in Dundee FC and Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.

p.s. great crowd last night also in 2,081 although a few folk myself included thought it looked nearer 2,500.

You have forgotten Pongo and Whatley. But other than that I agree with every word of your post.

I also thought that 2081 was a bit low. But everyone must have gone through a turnstile so will have been counted.

Anyone know what the situation is for Calum Brodie. Is he back in Scotland looking for a season of football. Would fit the back up keeper slot.

Apparently he is just back in Scotland for a couple of weeks from his scholarship in the USA so,won't be a long term option.

Robbie was released at the end of the season

Robbie Mutch was at the game and at the end was talking to some of the Arbroath players. He clearly gets on well with them, particularly Ricky Gomes. I overheard a conversation he was having and apparently he has been offered a 2-year contract at Falkirk. Was offered 1-year at both Motherwell and Celtic but opted for Falkirk for the security. Good luck to him and I hope he does well.

what it means is that even the best players get abuse. some posters on here are so precious about how dare we shout anything at a player. if as a fan i see a player not giving of his best week in week out i for one wont be quite it about it. fearns wasnt a scapegoat fearns was terrible

I think that you are mixing two things up. You say that you will shout at a player who is not giving his best week in, week out. Then say Ferns was terrible. Perhaps he was giving his best but that just wasn't good enough. Perhaps he was trying so hard to give his best that he tried too hard and play poorly. Hardly the same thing, is it? Maybe he was just terrible full stop and couldn't try any harder if he wanted to.

Whilst I can take your point about shouting at players who are not giving their all, consistently. I cannot understand fans giving their own players stick, before they even set foot onto the pitch. I don't think that makes me precious, but rather being fair.
