I'm nae expert bud but we played wi 3 at the back yesterday which was alarming.  We try to play football from the back but we gave ye a goal from doing just that yesterday. We've lost goals like that for weeks now.Sometimes it's better booting it especially when winning.

Yer 1st goal was excellent but oor keeper might have been caught oot of his line,to which many keepers seem to do nowadays, wander when ball not near them.

We played 2 up front one defo a great signing, 2 goals in 2 games but if the other is a striker I'm getting my boots back oot the cupboard especially when we had pacey players on the bench.

Haven't seen spartans yet this season but personally think EK and Shire will be too strong for ye to win the league but ye never know.

As for us there's certainly a big gap between us and a top 4 or 5 finish, that's for sure based on what I've seen so far, though I was well impressed wi the young lad from cowdenbeath yesterday.

We desperately need a few easy Scottish draws to get some much needed funding in to even compete at this level.

All the best for the rest of the season.

    Welfare v Vale

Fair points Newcy by now you should be seeing signs of a settled team ?

but 1 of the best left backs in the league left on the bench and 1 of the best centre forwards in the league at under 20s last season gets 10 mins ?

  4. Considering ww last senior competitive game was 24 th October I'm not surprised one or two over age players have been drafted in especially wi a lack of match practice. Fairly certain it's allowed in the rules so is open to ALL teams not just ww or Preston.

Agreed Newcy no rules broken and its upto all teams what they do

  5. Very fair comments from a neutral. Mind you looking at the highlights (filmed from LTHV side of the park) you'd think WW, strong wind behind them in the second half, only got out their own half twice, once for a stonewaller penalty claim and once for the winner. Go figure, as they say.

Two sets of lads trying to pass the ball in atrocious conditions and some quality goals on both sides. You're right, most of the WW lads are now at the top of the age group. They've been finishing games strongly and scored quite a few late goals.

Looking at uptheslope's comments you should be embarrassed mate. Especially if you were the guy on the park at the end ranting at the ref, very undignified. Aye Lothian played well after the first 25 mins or so but I thought the whole development thing was about developing players rather than winning. Whitehill had the chances to kill it btw.

have to agree the highlights do make it appear Lothian were robbed and totally dominated the 2nd half especially

As for the penalties I thought they were both pens and neither given so no harm done

Its all about experience for the lads I don't think the results really matter in the long run if any of the lads make the step up then well done to all concerned

  6. Absolutely agree with you BUT I also think the committee at craigie have some delusions of grandeur that are completely unfounded based on almost all criteria apart from the quality of the grass! Strollers often suffer from the same.

their committee must smoke grass if they actually think after umpteen managers in a year and signing poor players they would do any better in the short term @@@@sake get a grip theres nay relegation so chillllll
