He gets a bad reputation here of course, but much of it is exaggerated and his behaviour is certainly no worse than that of a lot of the players we watch on a weekly basis (although magnified as he is alone on the sidelines as opposed to surrounded by players on the pitch). And I suppose he should be setting an example as a manager. But the way people on this forum go on, you'd think he deserves to be tried at The Hague for his misdemeanours.

But his record as a manager is pretty decent. Promoted out of the ADL after his first full season. Promoted into the top division at the first time of asking, where Kilwinning have remained ever since.

Final of the West in 2015. Semis of the Scottish in 2016, quarters in 2017 and 2019. Last ever Ayrshire cup winners. And a more than decent start to this season. And all that amidst what seems to be neverending turmoil off the park.

Maybe I’m just basing it on the fact he wasn’t very good for us as a player!

I went to their game v Pollok a few weeks back and I thought Kilwinning were very poor that day. Strain was having a bit of verbals with a Pollok fan near the end.

Personally I just think if Strain is the level of manager we’re looking at then we’re in a bad way

Good segment at half time on BBC Scotland about Ian McCall. Bet they are gutted they’re showing Dundee v Morton that weekend rather than our game and the “occasion” around it

That's what they get for loading their picks with games from the Dundee teams. Although being able to see Dundee so much doesn't make me miss McDaid at all.

Yip, they’ve definitely got a staunner for the Dundee teams, and previous to this weekend Partick (who’ve been shown 3 or 4 times already)  Even before the whole McCall saga I thought us v Partick was the tie of the week in the championship

Partick Thistle will be looking at more Ayr players in January or end of season

they will probably be cutting there budget so players such as Doolan Moffat Harvie and powill be on the radar I would think as well as one or two more

I’d be very suprised if Moffat left us, he seems happy and content since he came back to us and I can see him finishing his career at Somerset

Kilmarnock Football Club is pleased to announce Dominic Thomas has signed a new deal to remain at Rugby Park until the summer of 2021.

The 23-year-old, who joined Killie in 2017, has extended his stay with the club after a promising start to the season under Angelo Alessio.

Dom has made nine appearance for the club this term following a standout season for Dumbarton in 2018/19, which earned him a League One Player of the Year nomination.

Speaking to the official club website, Dom said: “It feels really good to sign this new deal. I am very happy at Kilmarnock and I went to speak to the manager about the future because I only had one year left on my contract.

“He wanted me to be here for longer so for me it was an easy decision and I’m delighted to put pen to paper.”

Dom deserves his new deal, he seems to have knuckled down and has been working on his fitness, bulked up a fair bit & found a wee bit pace, over the summer.

Deserves to start against Ross Co tomorrow tbh......

He definitely did more in the 30 mins when he came on v Hibs the other night, than the majority of your attacking based players did all game. Suprised he hasn’t started more games this season tbh
