Ref having a nuke. 2 of our players tripped - foul to Arbroath.

2 good saves from Doohan have kept us in it. I’ll be amazed if we walk away with anything.
McKenzie on for Moff.0 -
Ayr struggling to get out against heavy wind/rain. Arbroath 10/3[emoji102]

What's the formation?
3/5/2, Harvie & Houston wing backs0 -
1-1 pen. ‘You’ve been framed’ stuff from Roscoe-Byrne. 4ft first touch, Arbroath player nicks it as he kicks.

Ayr/wind dominated the first 30 without creating any clear cut chances, the goal was one of our first attempts on targets.
Arbroath done well against the conditions. Could be a totally different game when they have the wind in the 2nd half.
3-5-2 could be a stroke of genius by Kerr in these conditions. Gives us solidity through the middle but we do lack that penetration out wide.0 -
Anyone at the draw tonight to hear the Q&A?
McCall didn’t say a huge amount we don’t know already.
Did say he’s targeting a right back and striker, although a lot is dependant on today’s result.
Looking for a more physical striker in the loan market, he’ll most likely come from down south.
Admits the loan market isn’t ideal but it’s very much dependant on the attitude of the individual.

Rangers 1st half team V Ayr Utd - Jak Alnwick, Jordan Houston, James Maxwell, Danny Finlayson, Rhys Breen, Jason Holt, Graham Dorrans, Jamie Murphy, Josh McPake, Eros Grezda & Joe Dodoo.
Rangers lead 1-0 at HT Jamie Murphy with the goal.0 -
We apparently matched Moff’s wages when we re-signed him from Dunfermline, allegedly £800 P/W. Assuming he was on the same last season, I don’t think McCall could justify the same again if he’s already stated Moff will have to accept less game time next season.
It’s certainly a catch 22. I wouldn’t want to lose Moff, especially to a potential rival, but I’d rather the money was used elsewhere.
Moff has been a fine servant and a modern club legend but unfortunately sentiment can’t come into it.
The club have also done a huge amount for Moff. We gave him his chance in senior football and I’d imagine the club have been more then accommodating with his PT business ultimately letting him plan for retirement through time.2 -
I'm surprised the money being offered for him. I'm more surprised Ayr haven't taken it given he'll likely be off for nothing in the summer.
I suppose it's refreshing for a club not to take the money and run but although it's been a good start I can't imagine Ayr will be challenging at the end of the season so thought the cash would be handy.
Hypothetically speaking, a club bids £100k for Dobbie. What would your thoughts be?0 -
£150k bid from Partick rejected yesterday apparently

Great signing! Apparently shares a flat with Micheal Rose in Glasgow.
In other news, McCowan will start tonight with Ecrepont making his debut from the bench.5 -
Bet 365 still have Partick as favs for sat. Ayr 2.87 & Partick 2.37
We’re 3/1 to score in both halves with Bet365 also...0 -
I’d take Queen of the South at home right now!

The facility is supposed to be top notch, I think they run a lot of the professional coaching badge courses there. Pretty sure Mourinho done his there!
Anyone up there?0 -
Robby McCrorie is our man if the rumour mill is true.

Rose will sign tomorrow apparently. No word on McDaid or Crawford.

I hope that the 500 fund keeps growing quickly while it has momentum.
Could make the difference in getting the best quality in these crucial positions.
Would still love to see a bit of a 'wildcard' signing, an unknown from deepest, darkest Poland, Slovakia or somewhere.
A new hero in the making.
Or just some random that McCall saw playing keepy uppy on the bench while on holiday.
What's Ronaldinho up to these days?

Good start but I’ll start getting excited if Rose/Moore/Shankland sign.
Furtado has left Raith, would we take him/do we need him?

McCall away on holiday perhaps? The guy deserves a break if so. Must be tough for football managers, very few windows for time off.

Youngster Nathan Baird is to sign a pro contract in the coming week, the only youth being promoted apparently.
He’s a centre back/right back and has been playing pretty well for the 20’s at right back most of the season by all accounts.
Has been on loan at Maybole Jnrs also this year.0 -
Agreed. He's talking about Ayr and his goals in the past tense. Mentally he's away already and will only stay if his other options don't work out for some reason, "Come and get me" is his message here.
Ah well, I was 100% certain he was going to be off a month ago, and I'm back in that place now after a wee wobble. Best of luck to the lad anyway.
To me, he’s talking about this season in the past tense as opposed to talking about his time at Ayr.
I’m actually more confident he’ll stay after that article. States there’s a chance he’ll stay with us, far better than him coming out and saying he’s definitely moving on.
As much as he’s keeping his options opened, you could see it as him bartering with McCall.0 -
I’d invite Doc back for pre-season and ask him to prove his fitness before offering him a deal.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s been a great servant for us but I don’t think he’s ever quite hit the form of his first season with us.
He was probably offered a substantial wage to stay with us this season and I don’t know if we could justify him being one of our higher earners next season.0

Got away with that one tonight, I counted 4 wonder saves from Doohan and twice Arbroath hit the bar.
The difference in the two dugouts was interesting - they had Rab Douglas in shorts motivating players the full game, ours stood emotionless.
There’s different styles of management but I know what I’d prefer if I was out there playing on a night like that.
