Shame about Gats moving on, seemed a consummate professional and a genuine good bloke.
Massive respect for him as a keeper, but more importantly, his ability to not turn to a block of ice in his short sleeves, when playing during the winter, especially at Gayfield Park.

End of an era.
We've known this was coming but makes me very sad all the same.
Similar to Sir Bobby leaving.

Farewell Ricky. An immense and passionate player. Hall of Fame incoming.
@SimonLichtie Can you work out how many miles he's put in for the club? Something to keep you occupied while away from this toxic place.

Can you recall a single time in history, and I'm including every manager appointed to every football club since football was started, when a manager turned around a record like McIntyre has had (THREE 5-0 scuddings in his last 4 games!) and made a success of things?
There's always a 1st for everything. We'll see how it pans out.

Aha.
Get a petition up wanting McIntyre punted, that we can all sign and hand it to Mike Caird.

Here we go again. Another pumping. Continuous pointless McIntyre talk. Just accept the fact he's here for the summer and at least until October. As much as fans can moan and bitch about him all they want, it doesn't seem as if anything is going to alter the situation any time soon.
Anyway
Thank f**k the seasons over.
Onwards and hopefully upwards.

I’ve seen Arbroath’s starting 11. Mesmerising. Anyone care to guess how we’ll line up. I haven’t a scoobie.
10 at the back and we'll still concede 5.

Season ticket prices frozen. That’s really good to see.
I think with the amount of dross most of you guys have had to watch the last couple of seasons, you be getting a discount for renewing.

We have been linked with Grady McGrath although I think he may end up at Montrose. Being a Dundee lad and they train in Dundee and Perth, plus he might think he will get more game time there.
Maybe league 2 with Forfar might be a better step up for him. Shanks hasn't exactly stormed at Peterhead. Hester, too hasn't blitzed at Montrose compared to Elgin. Not saying they've done bad mind.
It's going to be like most signings from lower levels...a bit of a lottery.

Perhaps they will announce it at the end of the season unlike how we announced the signing of Gallagher.

Not trying to portion blame on Boruc here, but 36 goals have been conceded during his 11 + 1 sub appearances. Constant chopping and changing of the defence has contributed to our demise.

This is Adams putting himself in the shop window trying to get a new club. Apart from the wonder goal, no club would've taken much notice of him before or since that game at Raith. An attention seeker with many bad pro qualities by the looks of it. Be surprised if he's at a club in the SPFL next season.

Of course it’s his fault - who else do you blame for us getting pumped every week. He’s responsible for signing players, training, motivation, tactics etc etc.
Of course he can’t be literally blamed for every single player error but the bigger picture yes.
The buck stops with the manager, that’s universal.
So the players are robots programmed by Jim and are excused of being able to think and act for themselves.
These past 2 years of supporting Arbroath has seriously screwed your thinking.

Watched the highlights of yesterdays game. Though they scored some cracking goals we did ourselves no favours for any off them.
1st goal. Ball bouncing around in the box but we have bodies back. Gold has slotted into CB as Little has gone out wide to challnge for ball. Dow can be seen getting back to and goes into the box running past 2 QP players at the edge. If he stays at the edge then he would have been in a position to stop the shot or got the ball.
2nd goal. Little 3/4 yards behind Steele and Teale (cant see Delaney) and player makes run. Simple ball, Little plays him on and Teale chasing QP player and its a goal.
3rd goal. Steele makes a hash of it. Let it bounce and caught out. Little and co just jogging back expecting Steele to deal with it. Once he fucks up no on is position to defend properly.
4th goal. Free kick into box that no one seems to attack. QP boy brings it down, turns and blasts it in.
5th goal. Easy ball down the right. Ball passed to edge of box and Slater misjudges his attempt to get the ball. Looks like he will get it but seemingly backs out at then decides to go for it at last second and misses it. QP player controls, plenty of space and curls in a perfect shot.
5 goals that are caused by players just not turning up. Individual mistakes that have been happening throughout the season. Players with no confidence and switching off.
I can tell from your analysis who's fault it is we conceded those 5 goals.
JIM MCINTYRE
I'm not exactly a fan of him staying but with all the he's getting, I really hope he can prove the doubters wrong and get us challenging for top 4 next season.
Needs to be targeting that hard b*****d of a midfielder we've been lacking for so long.

I get that the blaming culture in football always rests on the manager when things go pear shape. Obviously I don't get some of the starting XI or decisions that seem to be made on the pitch, but players should also be accountable. Their confidence will also be very low with all the poor performances and results and that is probably adding to mistakes being made.
The lack of continuity in the back 5 doesn't help either when Gaston, Little, Walker TOB and Lyon have constantly been in and out of the side. Gaston might not be at his best but he could add that bit of experience to help some of the inexperienced players like Teale, Delaney and Steele.
Whatever happens next season, JM will be damned if he does well and even more damned if he doesn't.

Been keeping tabs on him once I'd seen the amount of goals he's scored. Could be useful if we can develop him using Gallagher and McIntosh experience.
We should only attempt bring in youth (not loans) if we have the capacity to be able to improve them. That seemed something we probably weren't able to do with Shanks

Jim had mentioned that he had already tried to get Wales in January but the player chose to stay at Alloa on loan. Gut feeling is Wales will end up at a championship team on loan for the first half of next season to aid his development to break into the first team at Killie.
Your assessment makes absolute sense for these youngsters taking the next step in progression. It's also good to know Jim has spotted these players. Hope he has some kind of good rapport with a couple of Prem clubs for possible loans.

There's 3 young lads on loan at Alloa (Wales, Steven & Sunderland) who've been doing really well this season. Jim and his backroom need to be sourcing some talents like them from Prem clubs too.

All this McIntyre talk is becoming very
As a couple said earlier, you can possibly see by players non selection that it could end up meaning offski in the summer. Gaston, unfortunately, looking like one of them.

Not a bad side for league down as it stands
Keeper
Steele / Walker
O’Brien
CH
LB
Stewart / Stowe
Gold
Slater
Murray / Dow
McIntosh
Gallagher
You could place Stewart in even more positions.

Hopefully Jim will be able to sought out the type of creative players that will benefit our new signing otherwise it will be a waste if chances aren't being provided in the final third.
Need to go into league 1 looking to be in a more attacking mindset as we have been stuck in a rut of playing defensive, containing football, trying not to lose, rather than trying to win games in the past couple of seasons.
2 -
So it looks as if Jim is here for the foreseeable future. We're doomed this season so now we need to give him an opportunity to re-sign some of the current squad (Scotty ) and bring in some additions. If he can't get us fighting for promotion then he has to get us at least playing some nice football. Failing either of these, then needs to exit the club.

Think Campbell needs a mention just now, outstayed his welcome and we’ve paid the price for that.
This may be true but also we couldn't have guaranteed we could keep punching above our weight with a different management in place. The only hope may have been that we played a better brand of football.

Does Jim pick the defence by lottery numbers as you never know what the back 4 and gk will be.
