I'm less concerned about that than I would have been previously. Ideally we want continuity as much as possible and to try and build something, but the club are as an attractive a proposition as they have been for years.

I would have been astounded if you told me at the 80 minute mark at Firhill, that we would be sitting here with 7 points from 9. I don't think we've played particularly well over the 3 games, but I'm particularly encouraged by yesterday to be honest. That was as solid a defensive performance as you will see, and showed a side that we have not seen much of under Murray.
There is a hell of a long way to go, and I personally need to see a wee bit more before getting too excited, but definite signs that things have moved on from last season.

What I would say, is having heard a few of his interviews now, McPake seems like a pretty good egg.

Our Hamilton? From what I’ve seen looks like he’s either not fit or carrying an injury.
Think he means their Hamilton.
Granted, difficult to tell from a birthday party.

The defence will deservedly get a lot of credit today, but Scott Brown is up there with the best signings we have made in the past decade. We've been crying out for a genuine leader in the middle of the park like that for years.

Exceptionally frustrating. Nothing went our way at all today. O’Halloran was a bawhair away on great balls from Wighton 3 times that I can think that we would be expecting goals from.
Smash and grab from Rovers that.

Glad to see we "did our talking on the pitch"
Dunfermline fans have mentioned a game against Falkirk where McPake let them have the ball all game as he knew they would do nothing with it, and Murray essentially did the same thing today. Looked like a team very much dependent on defensive solidity, who weren't very solid in defence today.
Rovers weren't great at all today, we are yet to get out of 2nd gear this season really in the league, but defended superbly. Ground out win, which we didn't see enough of last season.

Think we've been a wee bit poor to be honest, not a great game by any means, but Pars have looked most likely to score.

There's a real buzz around the Rovers, for the first time in a while, and that is in part down to a great job with regards to social media and the work the club are doing.
These videos with former players are a wee bit too much for my liking though. If I was Mcpake I'd have them on in the dressing room as the team talk.
That said, I do quite enjoy Dunfermline fans playing the fixture down as just another league game, before proceeding to sing songs with the lyrics "we fucking hate you".

I wouldn't trade anything Dunfermline have done in the past 30 years in exchange for the look on my Dad and Grandads face after we won the league cup, to be honest.

This is why most Rovers fans can't see us challenging for the title. For all of our attacking options, only takes one player missing at the back to severely weaken us.
That said, we are still going into this game in better shape than the league cup game - hopefully playing strikers up top and central midfielders in central midfield.

Do you actually score from many? Despite possessing a decent cross he often played it so deep that defences found it too easy to deal with.
It was beyond infuriating to see him get the ball, with a f**k load of space to drive in to, but instead playing a cross that would inevitably be mopped up by the opposition defence. His tendency for backing off was pretty wild aswell.
We haven't scored from many at all, but we've almost exclusively played with zero centre forwards with nobody over 3ft tall in the box during last season, and he's missed most of this season.

Did we mention yet that you're just a wee team?
Think that happens in the same song when you talk about how much you hate us?

That was a key strength for us last season. Knowing other teams’ frailties at set pieces etc. McPake can be such a WUM and said after winning 0-1 at Falkirk that the plan was to let Falkirk have the ball for 90 minutes as we knew we could score against them from a set piece after Dave McKay had studied them so closely.
Great.

Intriguing game this one. I don't know a huge amount about this Dunfermline side, but they are on some unbeaten league run, and certainly appears as though they are a tough nut to crack. They looked decent in the league cup game, and ran Dundee Utd extremely close the other week.
Murray now has selection issues though. You would imagine that at the very least, one of Easton, Vaughan, Mullin or Hamilton will not start the game (he surely has to play Hamilton up top). We look much, much better in the midfield with Brown and Byrne in there - would be a big call to change that. Thats before adding in Ethan Ross who will feel hard done by not to start given how he has played in the past coupel weeks.
There is actual depth and options in the squad, for what feels like the first time in a million years. Murray has been very well backed, but this is the type of game where we need to see a progression from seasons gone by. McGlynn had a mixed time of it vs Dunfermline, but a really fucking terrible one at EEP.
Don't know what to expect though. We concede too many set pieces, and aren't great at defending them - and if we don't start Hamilton then for all the options we have, we will be going into the game without a recognised centre forward - something we saw yesterday and for the majority of last season - which isn't ideal in games like this. I've seen a few fans of other clubs saying that we will be up there with Utd et al for the title, but I don't see that yet. Still think theres a wee bit too much hanging on Hamilton being in form, as well as consistently fit and available.
I'd be happy enough with a decent score draw.

I don't think Dabrowski has made much clear and obvious howlers as such, but I also wouldn't say he looks any better than Robbie Thomson.
It's the main area of weakness in the squad, for me.

Wee bit dissapointing that, felt Hibs were there for the taking in the first half. As is too often the case, very little up top.
On a positive note, Brown and Byrne have already made a huge difference.

Because one player misses out? Weird given you have, at the last count & unless I'm massively mistaken, a squad of around 231 players
230 of them are midfielders tbh.

Still the line-up to come, but is today going to be the first time in at least a year that we field an eleven where everyone is playing in a position and role that they'd consider natural?
We've had Sam Stanton out of position for each game so far this year, we went through all of last year without a proper number 9, not to mention all of the various shoehorning we've done in the back line.
Whether it's a 4-2-3-1 or Murray continues with his baws oot 4-1-3-2, everyone should be comfortable with what they're being asked. Obviously it'll still be an incredibly tough game, but it feels like we're in a good place for it.
Back to playing without a number 9.

I've received mine, but for a different seat to my fanbase account.

From the outside, it looked more like a Kids Club than a singing section on Saturday.
I really don't want to be negative, but I can't help but think it's a rare miss from the new regime.
The club tried to do a hell of a lot last week. Season tickets weren't finalised, Hibs tickets on sale etc - not to mention trying to flog new season tickets.
Could well be they've just tried to do too much in a short space of time.

I see we’ve sold over 1000 for this already, didn’t expect that. Would like to see us go 4-2-3-1:
Dabrowski
Millen Watson Murray Dick
Brown Byrne
Mullin Stanton Smith
Hamilton
Heard from someone yesterday that it was at 1500.

Each to their own, but personally i think commentary ruins highlights. Much prefer being able to take in the atmosphere.

Jings, that's a shocker from Vaughan. He's getting a wee bit of a reputation there, needs to watch out.
Zero sympathy for Morton though, it cancels out that Quitongo dive last year.

Think it's a bit of a strange one, I certainly wouldn't be hanging my hat on Gullan staying fit all season, and Mitchell has looked impressive whenever he has played.
