  1. Excellent turn out at the rock this evening, popped in around 6:45 and must’ve been in the queue for about 20 mins, nice to see the strips flying out the door, a lot of scarves sold too. Side note: hope they put some of that new training stuff on sale, simply lovely looking, top marks for macron

Oh I know. The white strip is popular because we wore it when we were successful in the  seventies and those who remember that time obviously have a very nostalgic feel for it. Presumably the younger fans like it because of the distinction as you say. And I don't think you will have anyone disagree with your final sentence.

For me the best season for Dumbarton kits was the 15/16 season with the white Joma home kit and the gold away kit, it just screamed Dumbarton for me, although I didn’t mind the red and black away kit a few years later

Does anyone not feel bad for not buying the clubs tops, or is it a case of putting pressure on them to get back to the white, black and gold bands?

I’ve bought every top since 2012/13 except last seasons away one, I’ll likely get both from the coming season too, but I think the club should look into the retro shirt thing because it has potential to be a money maker, Raith done it for their Diadora cup winning kit and I’m fairly certain it went down very well

Opinions on Scott Gallacher? He’s supposedly headed our way and looks like his most regular run of games came at Dumbarton. Would I be right in saying he played against us in the play-offs 17/18?

Gave me the fear any time the ball went near him not gonna lie, he is better than Grant Adam though as Jan Vojacek has stated

That's an excellent point. That red and black kit was a cracker - and just Joma teamwear. St Pat's had it in green and white.

I've long been an advocate of a different away kit. Why not something totally wild and different?

That’s why I liked the Blackburn style one I posted last week, in a perfect world I’d have a white home with gold and black band and a gold away, but the away kit could be anything, from inter Milan style like the Hamilton one from a few years back to something like Croatia’s, maybe not in red and white mind you

Bound to be an unpopular opinion, but given the lack of any detail to those white strips I wouldn’t be against them going for something totally different like this and passing it off as being based on the 1886 home kit

As an away kit of course

I spent 1 minute looking for somewhere that does custom kits and another 5 minutes making this. They produce the kits with everything included for less then £30 inc VAT.

Why can't we do something similar to this?

Surely given we’ve changed supplier we could’ve moved away from Joma to a smaller brand like Tag or even to an own brand like Morton have done, and us in the past and gotten a bespoke kit for a cheaper price. I looked at Tag too before seeing this and made this one up

  8. Worth keeping Beanie for that reason alone.
Handling being offered a deal is mad imho. I know he's had a bad time with injury, but I just don't see it with him.
Would've given Boomer a deal on the spot, but that aside I can't disagree too much with the decisions. A few guys will go on to do a good job wherever they end up: David Smith for example.
I'm shocked that Grant Gallagher has been punted.
Pleased to see Scott Gal and SeaGal offered new deals. Both proved themselves last season after unconvincing starts.

Would imagine that Boomer is one of the guys who couldn’t attend the meeting
  9. Not sure how in depth this has been covered, but provided Froxy has really looked into flights he could definitely make it back in time for the game, had a wee look there and if he’s up for an early rise in Cyprus on Saturday morning he can be in Edinburgh airport for 1pm, someone will need to go pick him up right enough

  10. Personally on the subject of Aitken and Falkirk, I don’t think Aitken will go, I for one think that Jim McIntyre would be a more attractive manager for Falkirk having done incredibly well at both Championship and Premiership levels in addition to winning a national cup, but maybe that’s just my opinion and they might go for Aitken after all
