  1. Y'see this sounds like another grasp at "letter of the law" rather than "spirit of the law". It is this eternal bolthole/loophole seeking that everyone wants to bring an end to. This isn't about scrutinizing every conjugated verb uttered by the SFL. It should be about scrutinizing and penalizing the very real wrongdoing of Livingston FC.

McGruther has said he had an acceptable offer for Livvy as a third division entity. He is shrouding it in mumbo jumbo as being not good for creditors. It's a sham. Livingston care not a jot for creditors. They never ever have cared for creditors. This isn't about what's in it for creditors, it's about what's in it for LFC, and seeking to escape with the minimum of penalties rather than accepting a little bit of what they have dished out for 14 years.

And in terms of the moronic, try this from LL. I can only hope the poster is twelve. If he's a grown man, he IS a moron..........

QUOTE Good to see wee Robbo dispelling the myth about us overspending on wages compared to other clubs. As a one time manager of the club he should know. UNQUOTE

Yep, that's why wee Crabbo left to a club generating no more cash than Falkirk for a salary increase of 280%. David Hagen was a little less at 200%. More revisionist horseshit at play. One supposes LFC ran up £10,500,000 of debt in a few short years by donating inordinate sums of cash to the poor of WL, and never ever overpaying on signing on fees and salaries. It must be true because John Robertson, once the articulate commercial voice of LFC says so. People just need to stop lying on behalf of LFC. It serves no useful purpose.

I was shouting at the radio at what Robertson was saying - the wife thought I was having an epileptic fit!! Fair enough if Livingston had a similar budget to Dundee, Thistle, St Johnstone, etc but they were only able to pay those wages (eventually) by NOT PAYING rent, Inland Revenue bills, electricity bills, non-playing staff wages, etc, etc. If they had paid those other liabilities their budget and playing squad would have been much, much smaller and likely resulted in a battle with Clyde and Airdrie for relegation.

  2. There is an old saying that hard cases make bad law and I think this is one of those.

Relegating Gretna to the Third Div had nothiog to do with the SFL thinking that was a just decision and a fair punishment. It was simply to tie up the fixture lists for the 1st and 2 Divs as quickly as possible in the expectation that Gretna would shortly go into liquidation and it was a relatively easy process to bring a new club into the vacant space in the 3rd.

I think relegating Livi is a bad decision and does nothing for the so called integrity of the league (what a bloddy laugh that expression is)

On the other hand - having seen the Rankine/McDougall business plan (which most, if not all, of us haven't), having listened to McGruther tell them that the club is "hopelessly insolvent" and will still rely on a CVA being agreed for the club to go forward as a going concern and the reluctance (certainly in the last few days) to provide a bond to cover costs should fixtures not be fulfilled - maybe the SFL still see Livingston going out of business after the commencement of the season as a high possibility and, like Gretna before them, are preparing for that possibility.

  3. 21.7 Except as aftermentioned no club shall be entitled, either directly or indirectly, to transfer its

membership of the League to another club

Think you answered your own question there.Clydeband, albeit indirectly, transferred their league membership to Airdrie United

Actually, Clydebank changed their name (to Airdrie United) and moved to a new registered ground. Both perfectly legal under league rules.

  4. Why bother when all you weedgies are just going to pollute them on the 8th August :P

This whole Livi situation reminds me of an episode of Soap.

"Confused you will be..after you've watched this weeks episode of Livi"

There was a 10 minute clip on the beeb website halfway down the page.

    Massone Interview

He can't look the interviewer in the eye. First sign of a man who isn't telling the truth.

I have no time for Livi and can't help feeling that this has been coming to them for years, but even I am beginning to feel some sympathy for them. This is the most bizarre situation I can ever recall in Scottish football. Where and when will it all end?

It is also common for people who are fabricating details in answers to sub-consciously look to the left as this is the creative side of the brain. Massone does this a lot in his interview.

(Although this could also be due to English not being his first language.)
