  1. William Copeland was the Norwegian my neighbour mentioned. Wiki suggests Spring Valley Brewery was the actual origin of Kirin but it has been known to be wrong!
  2. A Norwegian founded Kirin according to my Norwegian neighbour who's from the same city in Norway?
  3. I don't know - if the guy loves his work then fair play to his employer letting him come to work on his holidays!
  4. Fair enough. I know what you mean about clearing things up as much as you can in order to relax, but as long as you can distinguish between what needs to be done and what actually needs to be done - otherwise you'll become a workaholic. That said, you'll likely get no thanks for it but you know that.
  5. Serious question - Haven't you always got other stuff to do at work, who can leave work with a clear desk every day? So, you're never able to relax and forget about work?
  6. You might find somewhere that makes you even happier. I'd agree that with limited funds/time it's easy to stick to somewhere you have liked before, but the world is a big place. I've liked some places more than others, but not enough to limit myself.
  7. Yep. 15 minutes to unpack it, plug it in. 15-30 minutes max to hang the baubles and stick a star on top. Can't see how it can take 2 hours, never mind 6.
  8. Agreed. I can only assume the 3 syllable pronunciation would be rush-y-in? I've never heard it said that way though.
  9. I'd be surprised if anyone actually waited if there was no traffic coming. As you say, just for the sake of politeness? It doesn't make any difference to the car driver, they still have to wait whether the pedestrian waited or not.
  10. I agree it's not a job for the reason you gave, but the question was "What do you do?" not "What is your Job?" I'd say the answer "I'm a full-time/stay at home mum." would be a perfectly acceptable for such a question.
  11. You've missed my point. I could pick apart that 3rd sentence but that would be another can of worms. I'll bow out here.
  12. Fair enough. It depends how you define full-time, doesn't it? I'm working with not having another job but I'm sure others (including you) may have another idea.
  13. You could use the same argument for any "role." Just for the sake of argument, if a part-time footballer isn't playing football is he no longer a footballer?
  14. I don't see any problem with full-time mum t.b.h. Then again, I'm not a mum. I knew 'more of a mum' would rile, but I did specifically state NOT better and simply more present, so I'm not sure why you've ignored that
  15. Maybe so. I'm not sure how dramatic a change in the face cosmetic surgery makes that might affect the biometrics.
  16. I suppose they are just trying to differentiate between a working mum and non-working mum? I'll stick my tin hat on here, but if they are at home full-time then they are probably more of a mum than those who work. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying a better mum, just more present.
  17. Read a news report that 3 Chinese women were held back because they had had cosmetic surgery done and no longer matched their passport photo. I suppose it disproves the theory they all look the same though!
  18. This might sound disgusting, but where I am we have no running hot water. So, my wife washes the dishes under cold running water using detergent. I'm still alive, and there are 104 million other fuckers here doing the same with no apparent problems.
  19. Agreed. In fact, the only word cheeky should precede is c*nt
  20. I work from home - my work colleagues are my wife and my son. I doubt anything I can read here can beat that.
