  1. A few years back when the club was seeking help from volunteers I wrote to MR with some suggestions that I thought might be helpful.
He invited me to join the board at the time for a match and dinner to discuss the way ahead.

However when AT found out he told me I would have to work through him, although we had never met.

I then met with AT and basically just had to listen to him telling me how he had everything under control and everything that I had suggested he had already thought of and rejected.

He said I was wasting my time because if it didn't come from him it would not happen.

I still wanted to help and did some serious work. I sent it to him and still haven't received a reply.

How he is still involved is unbelievable but a major contributing factor in the decline of our club ever since.

    A 100% clean out needed.

  2. Could someone help me with a clarification?

As the Q & A car crash video approaches 20,000 views, it strikes me that no true Falkirk fan could bring down the derision and ignominy on our club.
They claim to be lifelong Falkirk fans but has anybody seen Deans, Colburn and the rest of them at the Falkirk Stadium of Brockville over the years?

  3. I think Sheerin is a good appointment but we have given him no chance.

If you read his interview in the Herald you realise we have given up hope of competing in the third division.

"I don't know what sort of figures they deal with up there but I've got a pretty strong idea it will be better money than we pay for those three (Draper, Vigurs and Logan).

"It would be tough for us to compete for that type of player in the market Cove have shopped in."

So we can no longer compete with Cove, as we can't afford the players they are signing.

I guess our strength now is in paying people who don't play football, when we all know it's only on the pitch that matters.

I didn't think things could get any worse but a board who turn down investment and don't see the need to be competitive in the third tier of Scottish football is an astonishing betrayal of Falkirk fans.

I am sure they will all be hiding behind Sheerin and then behind the new CEO.

I don't need to say this but I hope we play brilliantly today.

  4. If Rawlins have very deep pockets, ask Stephen Robinson what he wants for wages to manage us for a season, get us up then if he gets a better offer he's free to go.  All the names being banded about are just a complete gamble which we cannot afford to do again.

I like this idea and it would be a sign of the Rawlings making a difference and breaking out of our cycle of failure.
However, any new manager will have to be someone who wants to work for Gary Holt!
  5. Some of my favourite ever players.
Tiger was the smallest but toughest ever full back
Johnny Graham my favourite ever goal scorer.
John Markie not the tallest centre half but always got his head to the ball.
Any Bairn who was present will remember Billy Fulton's 25 yarder in the bottom corner for a 1-0 win over Celtic at the Hope Street end.
(Just missing Geordie Gibson and Willie Wigham for my all time favourites.

  6. Shame about the score because I was really impressed with most aspects of our performance tonight.

We had good fitness, attitude given we were behind all game and we were prepared to take the ball under pressure and pass it.
Play like that and we should stay top.

However, three players were stand out weaknesses in an otherwise good performance.

Durnan is like starting a goal down.
Todd specialises in giving the ball away.
Salmon can't move when the ball comes his way.

And OK the keeper is probably alright at our level but not against that opposition.

If we replace the three above (Kenna Connolly and Miller?) and sign a centre back in January, we will be on our way.

    Time to be positive

  7. For some time now the academy has been our get out of jail card, but not any longer.

it really pains me that we let young players with great potential leave and there is nothing left in the cupboard.

Conor McBride to Celtic and Johnny Mitchell to Brentford the prime examples. Would be great to see them in the squad instead of this lot.

I guess we passed them on for little money which has been used to bring in no hopers.

    Such incompetence is almost criminal.

Getting depressed - we are heading for a very bad place.
