  1. My initial guesses as to which games will be televised:

    Aberdeen v EK

    Dabs v Falkirk

    Hibs v Kelty

Dundee v Arbroath (if at Gayfield, Dundee v ICT otherwise)

    Motherwell v Patrick

    Ross County v Raith

The Hibs & Aberdeen games would be for novelty value of the match-ups, the others are probably the most "glamourous" picks available.

Fermers v Morton, Livi v Pars and maybe Dabs v Buckie as potential others, depending on how many will be shown.

If it does finish 2-2 then the fixture should be branded the Desmond Derby, with a trophy given to whoever comes out top in the head-to-head between the clubs at the end of the season.

Surely, by definition, there will never be a winner of this trophy, as we are destined to be locked together at 2-2 every game until doomsday...

Will need to award it on a jury basis for most stylish goal or most comedic way to lose the lead after being 2-1 up after 97 minutes.

  3. Totally random question here:

I was cleaning out some stuff from a fellow Dee, who sadly died a few weeks ago, and there was something in his collection with the lyrics to Johnny Scobie written on it. I had always assumed I knew the first line, but am interested to hear what you all think:

"As I was coming down the Overgate, I met..." now, is it

"wee Johnny Scobie", as in Johnny Scobie, who is small?

    or is it

"wi' Johnny Scobie", as in I met with him?

I've always thought one and this has the other on it, which one is correct?

This isn't true yet, is it?

If Dundee win all four of their games, and St Mirren win their three which aren't against Dundee, and we lose all of ours, then Dundee would be a point ahead of us and St Mirren level on points.

You're forgetting that the Dundee v Killie game is already in the books as a 2-2 draw, so you'll be fine...

Are you only including players who were great players for Dundee or are you including has-beens who helped you go bust?

Assuming the former, I'll give you Dave Mackay, Alan Gilzean and Gordon Strachan. The rest of the team would be Buddies. Actually thinking about it, Frank McAvennie or Dougie Somner would probably oust Gilzean for the striker role.

Dundee lose all their games after the split.

St Johnstone win all their games after the split.

St Johnstone end the season with more points.

Cunning plan there. However, you forgot one important thing: one of our games is against Kilmarnock, so that’s a nailed-on 2-2.

Sorry to mess up your wet dream…

Curtis Main, Josh Mulligan and Ryan Howley all back fit for this game, only Owen Beck and Diego Pineda unavailable tomorrow.

Unless you read the BBC website preview, who insist on telling us that Lee Ashcroft will miss out through injury…

Just looking at the teams for the 2004 game when our strikeforce was Leigh Hinds and Budgie Stewart, then I think we've had a lot worse than Billy Dodds.  No wonder there was a protest at the state of that !

Dundee had obviously cooled their jets a tad recruitment wise by then, and had three soon-to-be dandies in their side - Lovell (who scored a peach of a winner), Mair and the useless soapy t1tw@nk in goals.

Starting Soutar with Speroni on the bench??!!

  9. I'm going to miss this now, so is there any chance that there will be somewhere in Dublin city centre that will be showing this live? Don't even know if you get UK Sky Sports in Ireland? I presume it won't be difficult to find people who want us to win (although not out of any love for Dundee, I would guess), but don't know if it's likely to be a major draw there...
