  1. Social Media Volunteers (x2)

At the Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) we are keen to progress our digital activities by increasing our social media output. Subsequently, exciting opportunities have arisen to add two highly motivated volunteers to assist in the running of our channels.

We are looking for volunteers who can increase the SJFA’s digital presence and marketability by providing fans with insightful content on a regular basis. The roles provide an excellent opportunity for anyone who is eager to pursue a career within digital or social media. Our volunteers will be responsible for the promotion of the Junior grade of Scottish football and in return will gain hands-on social media management experience.

    Purpose of the Role

Assist in the management of the SJFA’s social media accounts, particularly on matchdays.

Work together with clubs and the governing body to create a content plan.

Develop relationships with photographers/club officials to source social media materials.

Design social media content which builds interest around forthcoming fixtures and events.

Research the history of the junior game and specific clubs, to discover key moments/dates.

Act as a point of contact between fans and the SJFA.

    Person Specification

Ideally studying or recently graduated in marketing/media/journalism or a related degree.

Highly motivated and looking to build experience within social media.

Passionate about Scottish football, particularly the lower leagues.

Actively interested in social media trends.

    Requirements

An understanding of the landscape of Scottish football, particularly at Junior level.

A working knowledge of social media channels especially Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Proactive and keen to develop new ideas, from inception through to delivery.

A good writing ability and great attention to detail.

Competent in graphic creation or video editing (desirable).

Social media, blogging or web management experience (desirable).

Able to provide a minimum of four hours of spare time per week.

(As this role is based remotely, volunteers should be comfortable working from home)

    Applications

To apply please send a CV and covering letter to AFITZS200@caledonian.ac.uk

This is for a programme feature we're doing for the upcoming Juniors 7-a-side charity tournament.

Best of luck. I would try to contact each club by their social media. You will get all contact info there I'm sure.

Anyone know if the surface will be anything like the new surface at the reccy in Mountblow?

Had a look at it the other night and the pitch was shocking considering it's brand new.

    All artificial surfaces are shocking.

It’s a shame Yoker have done this as there pitch a decade ago was the worst in the Juniors and they raised the standard hugely most recently to a decent pitch.

  4. Well done.

The bens now are a long way from old Tinto where it was falling to pieces and you wondered if they’d ever come back.

Mightily unlucky not to win the league but back in the big time; well done to all.

Chill out man,  just a laugh. The nutter is still posting on the thread so he obviously took it with a pinch of salt.

That’s it, enjoy the basement, fellas.

Search it for grace and class remember.

At least there is one blessing when you're on here, the weans aren't getting hit.

What a tantrum over, let me get this right, a game that wasn't even played!

You are an oxygen thief of the first order.

No tantrum I’m pleased to say.

The uncouth amongst you are coming out in droves, please get some class. Or, dare I say it - “a life”.

What is it you will be thinking? Let me leave you with no uncertainty; delight and satisfaction at your impending relegation to the basement all because you so brazenly cheated previously.

Side note: ask any fan how endeared they would be to a club that cheats and get back to me.

You might want to Google the address of your nearest Life Shop. I suggest you visit soon and get one, because the Buckfast counselling clearly isn't working. Dearie me!

    I repeat, enjoy the basement.:thumsup2

Looks like you have already had a right good drink, you clearly just come onto this forum to wind people up going by some of your previous posts and your forum reputation. If we go down we go down and will wish all the best to the teams that didn't.  At least have the balls to name your team instead of hiding behind "Scotland".

    The truth hurts I'm afraid.

It is a pity you didn't have the same grace those years ago. Instead, cheating in an attempt to maintain your status in the super first. Enjoy the basement :)

  9. I'll have a right good drink when you lot go down. Long overdue since the time you called off games after a week of sunshine claiming a waterlogged pitch during your time in the super first.

  10. Outrageous way to run a club.

Piss undoubtedly an eye watering sum to buy success to get to where they are whilst all along knowing they did not have a suitable home, especially for where they are intending to reach. Now to top it all of; having to relocate stupid distances from where your supporter base is.

If you’re looking for an idiots guide on how not to run a junior football club please look no further.

Not sure when we're going to catch a break this year. That was a sore one on Saturday. Should have been 2 or 3 up at halftime instead of a goal down following a sclaff at a corner.

Good to see Tiny back and playing in the middle rather than wide as was the case previously. Hope he's with us for the season.

Still too generous at the back and missing Hynes' goals badly.

Is that the boy who was at Neilston last season?

Probably make the game all ticket and sell a maximum number so that they don't exceed capacity I would imagine...

    So much for this idea.

The SJFA are a disgrace to say MTC Park is suitable for league ties but not the Scottish Junior Cup.

Aye how fucking dare you guys show ambition. I mean having dreams of success and going out and achieving them one step at a time showing steady progression year after year its not right. Developing the club on and off the field in order to provide a solid future it will never catch on

Being local and knowing a lot of the guys thats been involved since day 1 I’ve seen all this patter from the beginning about throwing money about. Gartcairn know what they doing and are not stupid. Years of experience in the game. Its a shame folk can’t be happy for a club that want to go places.

Reality is people would like to see Gartcairn fail just to say get it up them and money doesn’t buy success. Mental logic as that would be a detriment to the junior game.

What a load of absolute tripe.

You won’t  find anyone in the “Junior Family” who wants to see newly formed Junior Clubs fail.

i have to laugh at lavish spending lol it costs us £260 per home game at our current park so we are doing all we can to move and include better facilities. On the park we spend what we can afford just the same as any other club.

    That is entirely my point.

You surely cannot afford to pay anything for playing staff when you don’t have a suitable home venue?

    So tug w

You know what our dastarding plans are

For the record I’d rather have what we have just now than some of the shitholes that claim to be good enough for junior football, that being said we are in the process of changing parks to include our own facilities, two 100 seater stands , toilets, pa and food court, oh and electricity

Hopefully you’ll come visit again when we get it, hopefully completed within the next two years.

No bad for a daft wee club in only their fourth season I’m sure you’ll agree

    That’s good to hear.

    I wouldn’t say that you’re a “daft wee club”.

I simply questioned is it prudent to be spending money on a playing squad when you don’t have a suitable home venue.

The fans can only stand at one side of the park so what’s wrong with that. Yea it’s a 3 minutes walk to the changing rooms which is not ideal but surely not a huge drama is it?

The park and facilities is clearly not befitting of junior football.

Instead of splashing cash lavishly on a playing squad, why not save and try and get a proper facility.

Ask yourself what would happen if an Auchinleck or Pollok came to your park?
