He's scored in semi finals, finals and in Europe ffs. All in the last year/season.

A goal in the league cup final v a very poor Aberdeen side on the day and a goal against minnows in Europe. He’s completely anonymous in every old firm game and for Scotland. International football is a big game every game and he’s always found wanting.

  2. The commentary is dreadful. There has been several games where they have used the radio commentary with the highlights online only to change it back to commentary post match pretending to be at the game. I don’t know what the reason for this is as the radio commentary is live and far superior. Surely can’t be that difficult to do.

  3. Personally haven’t seen enough in Christie that merits a start for Scotland. I’d like to know when he has ever turned up in a big game for club or country. A decent enough player at home to bottom 6 teams but not an international player. IMO

  4. 3-5-2 when fit:

                         Marshall
           McKenna Porteous Tierney

    Paterson                          Robertson

                       McTominay

               Mcginn       Gilmour

                         McGregor

                           Griffiths

Listening to Heckingbottom's press conference it sounds like he hopes James will be available for selection after the international break which is good news. He looks like one of the better summer signings. Some reports suggets that we are in the market for another defender.. while we have been poor at the back, I'm disappointed that we aren't investing in the final third.

This really worries me. Game of opinions but I have not been impressed by James as well. He seems well out of his depth. Whittaker will be fine for the odd game but we really need a new right back.

  6. Just listened to this back. Derek Ferguson admits “growing up as a rangers fan and singing certain songs” and that  “these songs are no longer acceptable”.

Not only that, he can’t see the connotations an orange kit and Richard Gordon helps him out by saying it was a marketing ploy to honour the Dutch players of the past. In any other society these guys would be sacked without hesitiation. Sportsound pandering to bigots in 2019. What an utter embarrassment.

They didn't. They had Michael Stewart on, who was as incredulous as any sane person would be.

Richard Gordon nipped it in the bud like another sane person, and got everyone back to the fitba.

The same dinosaurs have been on that show for as long as I can remember and whilst 90% of the content is old firm related they have never challenged the sectiarian elephant in the room. Richard Gordon “nipped it in the bud” as you say and that’s the problem, they’ve been nipping it in the bud for decades and look where we are now. We need to be highlighting, shaming and challenging these behaviours not turning a blind eye. UEFA has stepped in and with one action it has already prompted more reaction and discussion than Scottish football has conjured in history.

Lets not confuse the two, sectarianism and racism are the same thing, something uefa has had to make clear. Ferguson’s comments on how the songs are not appropriate NOW is another example of how sectarianism, unlike racism, has been dismissed as banter. Richard Gordon et al do nothing to help Scottish football move into the 21st century. Get these Neanderthals off air and stop pandering to the bigots by making excuses for orange order kits.

  8. Utterly shameful the BBC have allowed those comments from Dodds and Ferguson to pass without challenge.  If the club was genuine about tackling this they wouldn’t feed their fans the opportunity with this choice of kit, and let’s not be silly, it clearly has connotations. To suggest otherwise considering Rangers long history with sectarian rhetoric, from signing policies to bigotry in the stands is a nonsense.

Dodds and Ferguson are part of the problem. They are feeding the culture by spouting that ridiculous attempt to legitimise clear profiteering from bigotry.  The Scottish media have been as much to blame for turning a blind eye to it. It’s now taken external organisations to act against Scotland’s shame. Embarrassing.
