Has Cupar Hearts confirmed their intentions to move?
Just wondering if anyone knows which Amateur clubs are thinking about moving up to the Pyramid Senior Leagues in the future?
This time around, so far, there seems to be Kilbride Thistle (Ayrshire Amateurs) to the West of Scotland League and Cupar Hearts (Fife Amateurs) and Letham AFC (Perth Amateurs) to the East of Scotland League.
Are there any clubs thinking of moving up to the North Caledonian, South of Scotland, North Juniors (soon to be Seniors?) or the East Region Juniors (north of Tay Bridge) which may also soon be a Senior League?0 -
Shame as the strollers have a great set up
Rejected for not meeting the entry criteria. More importantly I think not being able to provide an actual plan to meet the entry criteria.
We know the ground issues Syngenta are still having. Aren't Strollers meant to have basically given up?
Which so far is more like a new restaurant having to meet H&S standards.0 -
Cupar and Am soccer are now joined as a team
Cupar Hearts are the obvious one think it’s been said on here about a possible link with AM Soccer and I guess St Andrews University will have the resources to get everything in place for membership if they wanted to. Outside of those two I’m not sure if any have the required ground standards although I’m certainly not an expert. I’m hopeful we’ll see a few more licenced teams here in Fife and added to the Fife FA Cup but it’s probably a bit down the line for most teams. There’s always Glenrothes Strollers, they applied before but didn’t meet the criteria. Maybe they should consider a link up with Glenrothes FC. As a Rovers fan I’d love to draw some of the new Scottish Cup entrants, missed the Linlithgow game sadly, great to visit some of the non league grounds for a cup fixture. Linlithgow were incredibly unlucky not to beat us that day.1 -
They have all ages of football, including 2 adult amateur teams so I wouldn't imagine the pathway wouldn't be an issue
Presumably Letham will be going down the Community route with a player pathway? That seems to be the new pattern. On that basis we could be seeing clubs aim to move up on a regular basis provided there's still interest from the local kids/youth/parents.1 -
Astro isnt owned or run by the council
If the EoS accept this ground presumably it would need to be adjusted to meet league requirements but that could be done over the first season. It has Floodlights so that's a bonus. Maybe this one of a large number of loss making Council owned grounds which are being taken over and run by local clubs and associations throughout Scotland at present e.g. St Cadocs YC in the WoS. Anyone know more?
If this ground is Ok, subject to adjustments, there must be lots more grounds around which could be considered as potentially OK soon.
Wonder if Letham AFC will be the only Perthshire Amateur to apply this time. Still kinda hoping someone like Breadalbane will try to join.0 -
No other amateur team from Perth have the facility's like Letham. Breadalbane have a great set up but I presume they are to far out the way?

So basically you'll be leaving soon anyway?
We played Kilwinning today in a friendly and it was great to see their new facility progressing. It looks like a community facility that will be the heart of football development In Kilwinning.
I know the future seems uncertain for junior football and many junior clubs, but what I have seen in my short time in junior football is the importance junior clubs have within their respective communities. Irrespective of where each clubs future may be, everyone has responsibility to ensure each club has a future no matter what league they decide their future may be in.
In today’s society places where communities can come together young and old, a place where they have a shared passion and togetherness is becoming less and less. In my time in junior football I have found theses club and communities truly inspiring, whatever journey your club takes I hope it’s a successful one and those traditions and that environment for community empowerment isn’t lost.0 -
I wouldn't be surprised if you did beat them after your last round victory against Thorn. Glenburn are a very good side
A bit disrespectful thinking it would be a surprise if we beat Glenburn, I'm sure Glenburn are a good side and will know their in for a hard fought game up in Dundee, but every team in the 16 is there on merit and for me I wont be surprised if theirs a few so called upsets just my opinion0 -
Definitely way off
Dont know why I thought you were from Perth0 -
East? Way off unfortunately
Mate your starting to bore me now aye, being from the East yourself ur just making a c**t o urself0 -
Maybe you should lay off the weed. All about opinions and mine is Scottish won't be in the east
Ach well hopefully a few surprises for you on Saturday then m8, sorry for being so stupid to think the cup could come east this season , how silly o me, one game at a time, tell Snoop I was asking for um ffs0 -
I'll be very surprised if you get past Glenburn
Hahaha fs sorry Tupac, Westside0 -
Nobody from the east winning it.
I think they'll be a few shocks yet again this round, everyone writing Merpro off etc, not an easy place to go to for Drumchapel and no mention of East Coast Sides though, Tollcross putting out The Burn and Fintry the Thorn, Menzieshill dispatching Uddingston easily and Cowie Thistle a good result also, being from the East hopefully it's our time this year but it is all on the day no easy games this far in the competition0 -
Isn't that what good teams do. Win when it matters and with the players that they have?

Fair point but doesn't look good when they get beat by a Doune side that most people would say aren't that great now a days
For the East, so not beat, a defeat in the league doesnt put you out the East Cup last I looked0 -
One word "Beat"
One word, Cambusbarron0 -
Committee members been suspended of duties now

Who are you then?
How can you possibly know if I’m a shite player or no [emoji38][emoji38] pay your money to watch me before passing judgement young man0 -
Seen stranger things happen with the safa but good luck hopefully they get told to bolt
There’s not much anyone can do or say until it’s all received by relevant parties. Our chairman should find out more details today.
My own personal opinion based on a lot of stuff that has been sent to me on social media (by complete strangers backing us) is that it won’t go very far.1 -
Thought protest had to be done within a certain time scale of said game being played?
It’s probably wise that I don’t say much of my personal opinion as I really don’t know what’s happening.
What I will say though is at no point before the game was corner flags mentioned or brought to anyone’s attention from our side, to be honest it’s not even something I’d think about.
To me, the game was played as it should have been. The ref quickly asked early during first half if there was any but that was it, never heard anything else until I was informed that there was something on here and twitter. If it was a massive issue I’d have expected protest procedure to kick in before or during and certainly not after the game was lost. I now know what’s happened after the game - it will be interesting to see if anything comes of it because there are also clear rules on protests. If rules are rules then it’s for all rules.0 -
