I totally appreciate what it does for the community and how it supports. However the flow of a "professional game" is haltered by the fact the SPFL authorities allow it. The fact they allow to promote this on a national level (Sky TV - Killie v Rangers ) is embarrassing. On a different note. . . .if Celtic want to fund it, fair play. How much is it to fit a plastic pitch in comparison to employing someone to install a proper pitch and look after it. . . .Our pitch is owned by the West Lothian Youth Foundation and is used for a lot of things within the local community. It is used for our 1st team and reserve team training, 1st team and reserve games too. It's used by a number of local teams too. After our game against Berwick Rangers there was an amateur game on an hour after the final whistle. Not only is it great and a sustainable option for Livingston, it's a huge benefit to the local community too.We don't live in a fantasy money land, the alternative of grass isn't just that. With grass comes 3-5 cancelled games a season, which you'd be the first to moan about, our alternative is not just to hire groundsmen (which we can barely afford). To further hammer it home, it's not even our choice, we don't own the stadium and we certainly don't have training facilities beyond the stadium. So if Celtic want to so graciously stump up the money, I'm sure Livingston will be 100% happy to put down a grass pitch if all other costs are met as well. Shouldn't be too much to find each season for a club about to sell a player for 25m, incidentally more than Livingston has turned over in every year of our existence (1995) combined.

Fair point. Well played. What would you prefer though? And Killie have finished 5th and 3rd in the last two seasons while Motherwell have finished 7th and 8th, so it's clear who have "managed the cash" better.0 -
Cheers for clearing the renting out part. You can notice a difference. However your average attendance is 6k. Motherwell very similar and they have one of the best pitches in the league. . . . It's how your team's hierarchy manage the cash. I do not believe in this day of age that "Professional Football" teams find the need to install an artificial pitch.Killie don’t rent out our pitch, but we train on it as do all the youth teams, which saves us a fortune. To people who say they’ve never seen a good game on one, you talk pish! I go to rugby park every home game and you don’t notice any difference.0 -
Spot onThe powers that run our game are quick to introduce all sorts of bizarre criteria and seem to have over looked one of the fundamentals...the feckn pitch!!!0 -
They don't. Upgrade to a new plastic pitch this summer and don't rent it out. ShamblesThey do. The presence of it also drastically reduces the cost of a separate training facility which becomes redundant if you have a pitch in the main stadium that the first team can train on.
If there were 'no real benefits' to these pitches then clubs wouldn't install them.0 -
Great deals^^^* turf and topsoil salesman.0 -
Cheers blades. WTF (what the f#@k)
Your opinion should be disregarded immediately as you have absolutely no idea what the SPFL is. Not a football fan IMO (in my opinion).0 -
AyeThis again? Seriously?0 -
They don't rent it out though so how does that fund repair works?[emoji848]Professional approach is making as much money as you can. Killie use their plastic pitch to fund the repair works needed every time the old firm come. Makes sense to me.0 -
Do Kilmarnock, Hamilton and Livingston rent them out? Is it really professional approach? Not this shite again.
These pitches are the lifeblood of numerous teams who rent them out train on them and generally profit from them on every day, not just saturday. If you don't understand why they are necessary in 2019 then you don't understand modern football.0 -
Night nightzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz0 -
Nonsense. . . .Employ a decent groundsman. Would never happen in the English premiership.Every club should have one and one of the highest quality. Some grass pitches are not up to standard and are dangerous as they cause more injuries. We need to move with the times. Some parks have a mixture of grass and plastic which is madness.0 -
Why in this day of age are the powers to be allowing clubs to install artificial pitches in the Scottish Professional Football League. . . . Professional football. Are there any real benefits to this within Kilmarnock, Livingston and Hamilton?

How the above tackle isn't a red is a joke. Also never made the highlights on BBC!
Seems a strange decision not to show it..
Conspiracy. . . . . Or maybe it was a fair tackle!0 -
For a minute there I thought this was meant to be a song and was about to call you a terrible lyricist.

Celtic win the treble.
Craig Whyte found not guilty.
Rangers knocked out of Europe.
Rangers found guilty of institutional tax avoidance.
All this in the space of 2 months!

Keep the titles, strip the titles. . . It doesn't really matter.
The proof is now out there. . . Rangers cheated the full of Scottish football during those years. And now it's pretty funny to see the imbeciles that "lead" the new club cheat the current fans.0 -
HMRC will receive a substantial payment from BDO, pretty straightforward really.
Why is it pretty straightforward?0 -
It won't be long until Rodgers offers Sir Pedro the chance to shadow him for a few sessions at Lennoxtown whist he is on his upcoming sabbatical.

They might want to step back from the same club patter now. . . [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I don't know what creditably means tbh.
I think he probably means that the tie is next week, therefore it is the immediate priority.
*credibility
Excuse the spelling mistake.0 -
Sorry where does he say that?
"Our goal right now is all directed to be in the group stages and we will have to see what happens after that."
Why would you as a manager make your main priority to be the Europa League. . . . Money. Or better still money to replace the bitcoins used to buy half of Mexico and Portugal! Surely after a disastrous season, the main focus for Rangers would be to restore some credibility from last season! That should be the priority!

Sloppy performance overall. Turnbull....cracking performance first half given he never starts, pleased for him. Hart has the heart however far to erratic to continue as a dominent keeper for both League and Europe, dont think he will suit BR. CCV still not 100 percent.. slow at times during the game. Kyogo played well, a lot deeper than normal but well. IMO, we don't have a strong enough SQUAD to realistically challenge in Champions League.
