Reilly is not going to do shit, he's not fit enough and is always injured and for that reason alone the club. Probably can't trust that the player is going to pick up another injury similar to his other ones the guy is made of glass, and imo will be released at the end of the season by the club  I'd imagine. Very injury prone, and let's be honest he ain't starting in any Wingbsck roll what so ever in a too tier game.

A pretty savage assessment but, sadly, probably true.

  2. I'm resigned to losing McCowan but can't begrudge him looking to move on. That said, he should have his sights set considerably higher than Hibs and I really hope we don't just bend over to some paltry offer (no signs of that as it stands, however). He's been great for us over the past couple of seasons and hope that he'd be welcomed back at Dens for whichever club he moves on to, assuming he stays in Scotland.

What a load of jobbies you speak on here man.

Firstly, we have a number of players that have proven themselves in teams that made top six.

Secondly, why does it matter anyway if they are 'proven' in the top six? Celtic/Rangers for example sign players usually from outside of Scotland, does that mean they are not proven either until they've done it for a season?

Thirdly, we have brought in players from other leagues that genuinely look very decent on first viewings (Ferry, Trap, Babunski in particular) and expecting a few more signings to improve the first 11.

Lastly, just because your team scraped top six one year where the likes of Hibs, Aberdeen etc had horrific season doesn't mean it will repeat itself, there is absolutely nothing to split the two teams and if you think so then you are deluded.

May I take the liberty of quoting something you recently said on the Jobby Sleeve forum:

"If you're no happy then off ya pop to the Dundee [United] thread you mutant"

Just with Butters being here - wanted to talk in his language and see if we can bring him on as a human.

    Thank you

It's entirely understandable and I commend you for trying with him since it seems he has little else to keep his spirits high but it feels like we're arguing with a 3 year old and not getting anywhere.

I was talking about a one off game for one person and If you were going to attend the whole season then you would just buy a season ticket which happens to be pretty good value compared to buying a single match ticket 18 times.

I know certain people complaining about the extra increase ticket costs tend to be the same folk that go to the boozer or go out for meals/eat take away several times a week, booking big holidays throughout the year etc

It's not a one-off though, is it, if every away team increases their prices by "only" £5. I'm not sure why you're on about season tickets - Dundee supporters clearly aren't going to buy one for every ground across Scotland so the additional £5 would need to be covered, assuming every club does something similar and you go to every game.

You may very well be in a comfortable financial position but many aren't, and clubs increasing their prices by 15/20% is, in my opinion, taking the piss.

Considering what you get out of seeing your own team then I don't mind paying an extra fiver or so to see a game as its f**k all in the grand scheme of things.

£5 x 18 home/away games = £90 net of tax = c. £150 gross (depending on what you earn) x 2 (assuming you go with a family member) = £300 per annum of income consumed from increases like this.

Dundee is not a wealthy city and £300 to watch relatively sub-standard football (I love Dundee but can admit they aren't going to win the Champions League any time soon) in a decrepit stadium just can't stack up for a lot of people, and understandably so. You might find sums like this "f**k all" but it's easy to see why a lot of people will stop going.

Clark Robertson has a problem with his hamstring. He hasn’t gone to Poland and he isn’t guaranteed to be available at the start of the season. There isn’t yet a time scale on the injury.

We may need that extra centre back.

We really have a knack for signing the injury-prone.

being announced as a 6 figure fee

Those with a knowledge of a Peep Show will recall Superhans' offer to Jez of a 5 figure sum for assisting in a bank robbery..."well, there's a decimal place after the first 3 figures". This sounds like one of those instances where it's 6 figures total, 4 figures actual.
