A football club lying about a failed medical to cover up the fact the deal bombed due to cash, after a deal had apparently been agreed?

We're well within our rights to withdraw a contract offer at any time for any reason.

Of course if we had signed him Romeo wouldn't be on here crowing about us wasting money.

    he would too.

ps. your right the europa is peanuts compared to CL.If Barton and co win us the league they will have paid those wages many times over.so even 1 season wonders all warbs has to do is pick the right gladiators for the job.

also the most powerful reason celtic were glad to see us disappear.no challenge for the big bucks CL. Bad news for them cos were back

its a case of spending it as you get it hoping to get more! if it works out great but its a dodgy premise to try and fix a club.but its what rangers are doing and if they pull it off and get into europe ,keep the season ticket sales high ,then it just might work.at worst after a few years we will just be a middle table prem side but that is not the plan.

Winning the whole damned thing in May then, might bring as much as Celtic will get for stumbling past Israelis in August.

How does it break down?  Hearts and Hibs won't have made anything significant at all.  What would Aberdeen have stood to have made if Rooney had scored that penalty?

If the argument is that Rangers can't yet mount a serious challenge for the Scottish title, it's hard to buy that they could be looking to sweep all before them in Europe.

    Genuine question:

Is there significant money to be made from merely getting into Europe?

Obviously, obscene riches await if you reach the CL group stages, but what kind of money exists in the Europa League?  Is it enough to make a vast difference to the standing of the club?

UEFA Europa League Prize Money Breakdown (Winners to earn around €25 million)

bit of a push to get in let alone win but theres serious money to be had.

Sorry but I disagree with that, players like Kranjcar & Barton especially will not be on a fairly low wage, they'll be commanding high wages to play up here as will a player like Rossiter.

true but without the huge outlay up front those are probably manageable at this stage. it looks like theyve spent the pile on the striker!

Surely the Ibrox faithful must be worried that Dave King is following a lot of the examples of the old board (of which he was a member) of signing this decades Ugo Ehoigh, Egis Ostentaad and Henning Berg?

not really. cash is still tight and we are just putting ourselves in the best position to be competitive and get the money coming in. get to europe and sort out the sports direct problem and longer term younger signings can be aquired. we can only afford old has beens. hopefully warburton picks ones that will have the passion to do a job in the short term

I can't fathom Warburtons singing policy. Rossiter is highly rated and I reckon he'll be a decent signing but players like Kranjcar, Hill, Barton, potentially Lescott, Senderos & Garner are not the type of players to win you the league IMO.

Warburtons policy was spot on last year. He seems to have a plan. let him make the signings he sees fit within the financial constraints hes under. the proof will be where we are after 10 games. i think he deserves support.
