An interesting move and may suit some of the clubs nearer the bottom of SMAFA to get nearer to the top divisions quicker.

Bannockburn to Caley now confirmed.

If that's the case you struggle to see how the SPAFA can survive?
SPAFA is finished.

Apologies, I was talking about in the West. Bear in mind in the last 3 seasons the SAFL have lost everyone but Goldenhill.

In my opinion the SSMAFL is ‘behind’ only Ayrshire, Caledonian and CSAFL.

Is this the boy that was lined up to be the assistant at Colville Park?

My personal opinion is they have to find some way of finishing it. No matter if it takes to August or whatever. Then restart next season around October and we would have the summer football we all want. The back end of the season big games all played in the summer.
How does that work if they’re delaying the Euros for a year?0 -
Semi Final Draw
EKYM or Tollcross v Eastfield.
Shortlees v Drumchapel or Fintry.0 -
Could wait see who finalists are and try get someone easy for both fans to get to ? May be tough but could happen
Falkirk shouldn’t be hosting nowt east being there is bad enough
What’s the problem with Falkirk?0 -
Glenburn vs Gartcosh next week.
That played in the Scottish a few years ago, went to a replay and was carnage at full time. That game could be fun.0 -
This for me today, should be a cracker
Could watch this then get the second half of EKYM v Tollcross indoor at Ravenscraig.0 -
Who exactly attached to Sandy's makes noise ? There's a couple of people on here who claim to be and come out with a lot of shite . Quietly "our" players fancy there chances but we also know that shortlees have and are a good side . One to look forward to and would be a good game for the neutral .
I’m not saying they are players, coaches or committee members mate but they clearly align themselves with Sandys. It was in no way a dig at the club itself.0 -
Eastfield are favourites but Shortlees in their day can beat anyone. Glenburn destroying Drumchapel in West today was a shock to some
Have Shortlees had enough days lately? Their tie with Sandys will be an interesting one, 2 teams that fancy their chances with folk attached to them that like to make noise.
Eastfield are clear favourites in my opinion.-1 -
Bridgewater - not ignorant question not sure the answer but I know for a fact it was a big issue years ago when this was talked about so I have to assume its still a big issue thus why our proposals include keep your Leagues name, We at the SAFL are the oldest League in Scotland ( Est 1900 ] even older than the SAFA so more to lose than any other League
Its been said to me The SAFL are putting forward these proposals as we are loosing teams to other Leagues, yes that's partial true but in turn these same Leagues are having teams fold year after year.....so this is how its in all our interest
But keeping your league’s name is selfish. The future of amateur football is what is important, not what the name of the league the teams play in or who is on the committee.
Why don’t you put a proposal forward that says ‘We don’t care what the league is called, we don’t care who is in the committee but we care passionately about the future of amateur football?’
The SAFL as a respectable force is finished, for now, sadly. The loss of Oban, Alba, St Joes, Thorn and and add to that Motherwell Thistle being consumed by a gang dumped from the Caledonian League has left it in a position that probably isn’t recoverable.1 -
Why good luck to the ref?

Nonsense, hopefully common sense will apply. It stinks that Eastfield had the forsight to put a paragraph in that they would accept any decision if the SAFA decide to pursue anything in the referees report. Almost as if they had been told it was in the referees report and withdrew protest to take some of the heat off them at the time. They could have just said they accepted the result and do not want a replay. Maybe they will do the right thing tomorrow at Hampden and tell them they accept the result.
*Harestanes.0 -
Drumchapel Ams vs Uddy Anvil should be a good one, Anvil with a great result last week against Bannockburn after getting pumped 7-2 earlier in the season.
Easy for Drum by the look of it.0 -
Asking for a friend, should referees for games in the west be neutral and not from the same league as any of the teams playing in a fixture?
Referees are neutral irrespective of the league they normally do.0 -
Cambusnethan Talbot 1 Oban Saints 7
Saints still not dropped any points in the league this season.
A combination of their quality and the fact they’re playing against very poor teams every week means this isn’t a surprise. I hope it doesn’t effect them in the Scottish.0 -
Eastfield
Sandys
Draw then GMW after replay.
Shortlees
EKYM
Oban
Don’t know anything about the teams in other games and, to be honest, I’m probably going for Sandys on reputation.0 -
They shouldn’t be refereeing if this is the case.
That doesn’t answer the question though, does it?0 -
To those quoting rules etc, this is a genuine question.
IF a team raised a problem with, for example, corner flags and the referee didn’t know he/she should have captains sign team lines what would happen? You can hardly ‘punish’ a team because the referee didn’t know what they were supposed to do.
Like I said, it’s a genuine question and not designed to criticise anyone.0 -
It has nothing to do with the committee, it will be harestanes decision if they appeal it , what r the league committee going to do if there is no appeal, kick Harestanes out the league?
The point here is Harestanes r well within there rights to appeal there is a rule there and if they wish to use that to there advantage then its there choice.
It may not stand well with the majority of Clubs within the amateur game but they have that choice to make if they want to go down that road.
No, of course they won’t be thrown out the league. Don’t be ridiculous!
The point I’m making is that there is a certain arrogance about the CSAFL committee and they will be smarting at many of their big guns being humbled by teams from ‘diddy leagues’. This may provide an opportunity to have one of their number reinstated and I believe they will encourage the appeal.1 -
I fully expect Harestanes will also come under pressure from the CSAFL to appeal the decision. This hasn’t been a good year for them in the Scottish and the committee will be raging.

Couple of shocks yesterday, Greenock & Glenburn going through and Drum held at home by Garrowhill. Both of last seasons finalists still in.
