Starting to look at options for travel, my name is in the ballot.  If unsuccessful this will be the first ever Motherwell match I have attempted to get a ticket for and failed.

Any appropriate info would be gratefully received.

I’ve done a bit in the European thread Ropy.

Hotels over there work out cheaper if there’s 2 of you also there’s 4-5 B and Bs within a mile or two of the Showgrounds.

I’ve stopped in Sligo Southern Hotel which is very nice but pricey, and a couple of B and Bs.

  2. I've been to Sligo a few times.

Easiest way to get there is fly to Knock, then bus into Sligo which takes about an hour. Dublin is about 3 and a bit hours away by Bus/Train.

Two pubs by the ground Mooneys and O'Neills both decent sell standard Irish Stuff. Near the Station, Donaghy's Bar won't sell you a pint unless you are eating and the Railway begruded just selling me a pint when i went in last year. Theres other pubs in the Town Centre too, i went in a Sports bar.

Unless you fancy the overnight bus to Dublin about 1am, it is a stopover trip.

    Don’t encourage everyone 😡😛

By all accounts we will get only 400 tickets or less from Sligo should they progress. As someone at the club said to me yesterday. There are going to be a lot of disappointed people.  There has been the ability to make 2 or 3 applications as each time they send link out it seems to let you apply again. However I was assured that the club will de-dupe the list so that only one name appears in the ballot.

They hope to carry out ballot on Friday and inform the lucky ones by email same day or early next week. This should be fun 🙈

Sligo's ground only holds about 3,000 so there won't be that many to go round. has anyone pre booked on the off chance?

Will do a bit of info on the place if anyone interested.

So does that mean that Scunthorpe are trying hard to keep him, and more pertinently, if he signs for us, there'll be a ton of Scunthorpe folks covering their keyboards with tears, snotters and flecks of rage-spittle as they take to twitter and the fan forums to express their hatred and disgust at this guy's fickle treachery?

No, the sooner he is off the wage bill the better most would say.

The main forum’s twitter embarrassed themselves by posting, er “Hibs? Embarassing” last night.

Er, no you lot are embarassing...

  5. Bit of contract wrangle going on with Funso Ojo, he says he’s activated a relegation clause in his contract, Scunthorpe say he hasn’t.

Hes a defensive midfielder. When he’s good he’s really good, and pops up with the odd goal. He’s been in a sulk for the last 12 months though, and posted various comments on Instagram etc about wanting to get away.

  6. A 'new Rangers' - rising from the disgraced ashes of the oldco, actually 'facing their dangers' and working their way up - is a genuinely interesting story! Christ, if Mileson's Llama FC were worthy of a TV documentary - a newco Rangers story would be well worthy of press column inches, TV documentary, and maybe even Sky would cut a deal to show some of their games?

'Scottish football will die' - I actually think it would be more interesting. Mind you, what do I know, I'm just a muppet fan of a diddy team with a hyper-active keyboard gland.

If the demise of some established top-flight clubs in England(Sheffield Wednesday and United, Nottingham Forest)is anything to go by they'll dissapear off the front and back pages soon enough. you have to go looking for stories involving these teams. the only exception would be Leeds United.

Hibs i remember got a bit of coverage but not that much.

The Record, like its fellow Tabloids, will always go with the team who's winning... so it will be Celtic, Hearts, Dundee Utd, Motherwell etc... and the SFL tucked at the back of the paper.
