  1. I guess it was a historic occasion. Cue pitch invasion from the 4 armed Hibs fan...
  2. Re the 15 team leagues, you could end up with a scenario where the teams in 10th and 11th places play each other before the split, with both wanting to lose to improve their chances of avoiding the drop! Personally I'm not a fan of league setups that have teams sitting out fixture weeks.
  3. Bit of an era ender, last game v England for McGrain, Dalglish and Jordan.
  4. Fair doos you would've been young during his brief flirt with the Scotland team (4 caps all in 1982).
  5. Surprised at that, bit of a legend at Villa, league and European Cup winner.
  6. Gordon Durie tangles with Brazilian goalkeeper Taffarel in the opening game of the 1998 World Cup. By playing that day "Jukebox" became the only Scot to be capped at 4 major tournament finals, and let's face it, it's unlikely to be repeated (by a man anyway).
  7. Very true. Plus the fact they had been scutched off them in the semi.
  8. I'm guessing the Celtic support weren't rooting for Franco's XI?
  9. Great photo! Reminds me of... The good old days when we could fly, nevermind fly into space!
  10. Was Jack Mowat's final game in charge, probably wanted to point to the spot one last time.
  11. 60 years ago today! There's some great photos from the occasion too. Here Alfredo is wondering what happened to their bagpipes...
  12. Legendary Glasgow ref Tom "Tiny" Wharton gives Alan Ball a stern word at Ninian Park, Wales v England 1970.
  13. Well the converse of what you're saying is that if you are looking back at Earth, like Mr Moon here, the orientation in which you appear in the sky to the guy waving depends where he is standing...
  14. Colin Jackson rises above Aberdeen's defence to score an injury time winner for Rangers in the League Cup final, March 1979. Astonishingly this was the first League Cup final not to feature Celtic since October 1963!
  15. Excellent interview. He starts off sounding frail but you can sense his ailments disappearing as he gets more into the conversation. Similar to his live shows when he would talk his way into a frenzy of adrenaline that would take several hours to come back down from after the gig.
  16. The guy behind Brogan in the St Johnstone pic looks a bit like McCoist, but surely he was away by then?
  17. Pat Gardner gives Dunfermline the lead against Hearts in the 1968 Scottish Cup final. The official attendance of 56,366 was the lowest for a Hampden Scottish Cup final at that point, although there looks about half that many spectators in this photo alone!
  18. I'm guessing you're not a frontline NHS worker?
  19. He can blame it on the weatherman for not getting a full house...
  20. The shed used to bend round the corner too, always like that feature...
