He really needs to stop coming on here, for everyone's sake. I thought City were rubbish to be honest and certainly didn't deserve anything out of the game. One good chance that was cleared off the line just before QP scored but that was about it. Difficult to know how to judge these games, pre-season or competitive, but apart from a relatively encouraging cameo from Calum Hall there were zero positives for me.

    The blokes a weapon

  2. The chairman had genuine empathy in his voice in his phone call to me this morning  about my stance on the matter. As I've said before I'm walking away but I've nothing against those who decide to go next season or anyone on the board even though there should've been a meeting with fans beforehand. I wish them all the best(not Thomson)

  3. Just had a call from the chairman who was superb on the phone with me. I am being given a refund. He respects the fans stance who  don't want to come back and I tell you what I do have a lot of respect for the man.

As I said before I have nothing against the board personally but I won't be going whilst thomsons there.

Arranged for season ticket money to be refunded for both my own and son's STs.  Stopped my direct debits. Over £1000 of income lost annually alone from my side of things.

That's me done with over 20 years of involvement including one as chairman five or so years back. I have helped out on match days when required in the last few years but generally just gone along and supported the club I truly cared about, simply as a fan. This effectively clears out the old guard from the club the guys who have been going along for decades. The club's soul has been sold and all for a 1 year contract for a convicted child sex offender.

Ally thanks for meeting up with and passing on the details of your meeting with the board. You're a sound guy and whilst I have made my mind up, as you say we all have decisions to make, I'll judge no one if they carry on attending games.

One final moral dilemma? What to do with my £25 ew @ 25/1 on City to win the league. Answers on a postcard...

    Hi mate,

Who do I contact in regards to a refund? I've rang football nation who I must say have been superb and on a couple of times tried to give the club a nudge to get in contact with me. The club promised they would. But nobody has at all

    Great post from you Ally.

Unfortunately I don't share the boards view that the reaction in the SPFL will not be as bad as you think. Much much much bigger stage than Kelty. He'll be getting it bad every game from now until the end of his career rightly or wrongly.

I could only imagine the reaction if you were to play Hibs away for example..

I agree top marks to Ally for a superb post like that.

However I'm done. Can't bring myself to go back whilst he is there

I reckon You'll have to reach out more than on here if you want a fans meet up bud. :o

Not every City fan will read p&b, in fact I'm sure it's just a tiny minority of the City support who will actually be on here

True but some is better than none

  7. All fans that want a voice heard and to discuss what we are going to do please inbox me and we can arrange a meet up(with pints) .

Only we can try and stop this happening. I'm not against the board, I don't have any personal gripes with anyone at the club but hopefully we can make them see a bit of common sense

This purgatory where I don't know if I'm going to be able to go and watch City this season is driving me daft. Just tell me if we're signing a predatory sex pest or not!

I'm in the same boat mate. Normally I'd have been happy about signing a player like Ashley Grimes but it's all been overshadowed with the " are we signing Thomson or not" sideshow. I'd rather everybody knew what the craic was

I've had no acknowledgement at all, the only thing close to it was the woman who emailed about season ticket renewals said she'd pass it on.

I think I said in a previous post I didn't really expect a reply due to the reasons you've outlined

It was football nation who acknowledged me not even the club. I've now sent a further two e mails to the people that deal with hospitality as they're the only e mail addresses I can get from anywhere so hopefully they forward it on to the right people. The club were meant to get in contact with me but still haven't about me requesting a refund on my season ticket IF Thomson signs. Don't bother phoning the club either as the number given is the one for the social club and the social club have said to me twice now they are nothing to do with the football club which I find baffling. They couldn't even provide me with any contact details for anybody either. To me it seems the club are being run by a clique who are reluctant to let supporters old and new have any say on anything at the club.

So are you saying breakfast could be me last meal as a City fan, it's like being on death row. The last few days have been awful, I keep on thinking I'm having some sort of episode, I cannot for the life of me understand who in their right mind thinks this is in any way a good idea. So many families go along, I feel for the boy in the Evening News who had taken the strips to Bolivia. 'I love it at City it's great', ask him, his wife and three kids again if this goes through. They just don't seem to get it, they are going to lose so many fans and deter so many potential fans. Or the guy from Football Nation who has said this has been one of the best kit launches ever, sullied and ruined if this goes through. If I were CMC or Bakerfield the new shirt sponsors I would be ripping up the deal, saying that they must have run something as controversial as this by the sponsors already you would have thought, no?

I can see Spartans smirking in the background having lost so much ground to City, they get it all back and more, all except the league status. I have was Spartans charity who have the long term lease at Ainslie Park, I would be fuming to have tenant that actively employs sex offenders. The more you think about it the implications for the club are huge.

I'd be getting the lawyers in and I would say Max Clifford for the sh*tstorm that will be unleashed, but Max might be otherwise engaged for a while yet for quite apposite reasons.

Think Spud from Trainspotting - not worth keeping those bedsheets after that, just don't do the same to our club, I beg you.

For all those who have written to the club anyone even had an acknowledgement? I am hoping that the club are working this through properly and maybe an acknowledgement is not possible as it would be an admission of even considering the signing in the first place.

I have had an acknowledgement. The club will contact me personally via phone hopefully in the next couple of days . Let's hope this sideshow is all cleared up and forgotten about by then

Obviously I don't  having much knowledge about Edinburgh City but isn't he the manager, wouldn't he be the person that's picking who signs for the club? If he is then why would you feel for him?

I hazard a huge guess it was Jefferies. The only reason hearts let go of him was because the sponsors were pulling out

Paraded as a City player.  Deary me.

Well the whole thing might be getting binned off mate fingers crossed. A lot of folk are ready to walk so let's hope they sack it off

I actually feel for Gary Jardine in all this. Bloke is in a catch 22 situation

You can't say that until it's a stonewaller that the lad has signed. At the moment it's nothing more than fan speculation.

It's not speculation at all. If the board give it the green light and not listen  to the fans and the people that have been loyal to city for years then the lad is signing on the dotted line

Looks like they aren't listening to you, I enjoyed watching City last season and intended to be back this season with the Grandkids for more of the same, that won't be happening anymore, not while a known child groomer is playing for City.

Have the people running City really thought this through properly, what a huge mistake it will be for the club.

Apparently the club are discussing it between themselves and we should hopefully hear something by Tommorow.

Sorry to be apparent but that's all I've been told

  15. I know two of the Angus clubs were sniffing around last season and when I asked him in the stand at the Stirling game if he was gonna stay on next season he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. I thought he was staying though.

Not gonna begrudge him wanting to play in the division above. He's certainly a handful and useful at this level. Good luck to him
