not some sort of “free hit”...

Easy to see the free it if you look at Falkirk's return against other teams they've so far surrendered 1 point to Cove, Hamilton, Montrose, Queen of the South and Edinburgh. Taking maximum points from the other games.

A loss means losing 1 point in competition with those other teams mentioned as I'm writing off a late run for the title. I'm sure we can agree a 27 point lead over the next 17 games is nigh on unreachable.

Gaining 3 points or two on Cove, Montrose, QoS and maybe Hamilton might be nice but like I said I'm not going to go home in gloom if we are still on 26 points on Saturday night. Far more important to take points off those teams who are in direct competition for places around. Those games are the cliched 6 pointers. So absolutely no pressure on us - I'd take another performance like we produced at Motherwell.

Dickson was reluctant to say how much it is costing to run the club - which is in the third tier of Scottish football - for a season but confirmed it was in excess of £500,000.

Shows how beneficial it is to own your stadium. Don't think our costs are that high but we can generate savings and have an income from the stadium.

I remember someone credible telling me when Edinburgh put us out the challenge cup a good few years ago that they were paying 3 times the wage of our highest paid player to their top earner. Just seems mad to me that you'd throw all that money down the drain and not build any basis for the future.

Tbf in the game against Edinburgh we rested most of our first choice 11 and even Man City would've struggled to play football on Bonnyrigg's mudheap of a pitch.

No excuses if we can't get a result on Saturday but confident we'll be back to our old selves

Wasn't too long ago there was a strong 'McGlynn can't be trusted' narrative though. Self inflicted for Edinburgh and if that's the turning point of your season I'm sure a few dissenters might be back.

Although I've said it after the first couple games though that I'd much rather 3 points from games against the teams around us than a 'headline' win against the league leaders. Either way I feel like this game is a bit of a free hit.

I thought Virtanen did OK in both positions. Not sure I'd be comfortable with him starting at RB against Miller (or Morrison) next week, but maybe we'll have to go with that.

Or could Kev stand in? 🤔

    Behave😂

For me PJ and Scougall were our best players and special mention to Virtanen who I thought looked comfortable playing at right back.

Thought that myself - sods law he's been waiting for game time and two players that he can cover for go down in one game with serious injuries.

  6. Quite surprised on the media stuff. Expected Motherwell to be a much more accommodating place with doing the media. It was like they were surprised to have us there but I assume much bigger media teams than us work there regularly. We are way too reliant on Sky in this country. The setup felt a bit archaic and muddled. BBC had one single camera, QTV had one single camera and despite what it says in the commercial requirements we didn't manage to get a feed from them. Really disappointed there's not any more joined up thought in these competitions.

  7. I watched quite a bit of the youth games with streaming the home fixtures. Luke Rankin in my opinion was far the superior striker. Rayan was physical, but frequently offside and with a touch reminiscent of what we saw with Conor Sammon in the first team.

The foul and penalty won against Falkirk was a handball no? If it was I'll give Mohammed the credit that he was going for the challenge on I assume Brad McKay and forced the error. We got a fee for him and I thought it was good business at the time but he may well have improved at Dundee.

    rodden didn't reappear  🤔  , i shall cease forthwith ..  i know my place  .😉

I only took Wales of the other day when the record man updated his piece that it wasn't a recall - his loan was over.

Figured it was public knowledge by then. Rodden was off on Monday.

particularly the last few minutes ? Not the only player we have who could be a bit less greedy though , he is here to learn and i am sure Andy noticed as well and has probably had a word, he is on his day a good player for us though ,

    PS

Bobby wales was taken off the club website on Monday along with Rodden , Wales got added back this afternoon  🤔

I do the website - if you've got Wales it's just cached pages coming up.

I watched Stirling Albion beat Alloa earlier in the season but suspect I can take nothing from that game into this one.

We were awful to begin the season, couldn't score and couldn't defend but I'd say turned the corner before Brian Rice left and are now 6 games unbeaten under Andy Graham. Better football on show and I think we've still got a gear to go up if everyone is on form at the same time.

Has anyone seen anything official from either club that he has been recalled ? all i have seen so far is some guy from the daily record saying so

surely it would have appeared somewhere  ?

His deal ran out on Sunday but when Motherwell highlighted him as a threat I thought I would just leave it up to not give them any clue.

I assume it'll depend on no other strikers going out but it's a good sign - they've got Innes Cameron, Marley Watkins, Andrew Dallas, Kyle Vassell and Bobby Wales. 5 strikers for two positions is probably too much. Primed for a late announcement though 😂

Unfortunately it’s going to be the way now for all Scottish clubs, English clubs are taking a chance by swooping up all the potential coming from our youth systems.

You just let us know any rumours of strikers in at Killie. There's never a better grease of the wheels than having too many players for a position.

You obviously did not speak to either of the 2 full time employees Saints had (They were there that day) nor the part time videographer who was also there.

We do run with a big team , 2 on comms , a match reporter and myself on facebook and sometimes twitter , these are voluntary posts but there are full time employees on the media side.

I did speak with Gregor (Sleith?). He was the paid one. It was the other boys I asked about it and they said your media team was all volunteers and outwith the big 4-5 in Scotland that was what the going rate. Was quite depressed at that.
