many of their players would walk into our starting line up.
Apart from Liam Fontaine you're surely having a laugh?
We were wasteful all game and still won at a canter in the end.0 -
Winding up orders are very public. https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4517832
Didn't know the amount right enough.
Some paltry research:QuoteReasons for HMRC issuing a winding-up petition could include:
Unpaid Taxes: The company has accrued a significant amount of unpaid taxes, such as VAT, PAYE, or Corporation Tax.
Previous Attempts Failed: HMRC may have previously attempted to collect the debt through other means, such as issuing reminders, demands, or even pursuing legal action like statutory demands.
Severe Financial Distress: HMRC believes the company is in severe financial distress and may not be able to meet its tax obligations in the future.
Failure to Engage with HMRC: The company may have not engaged with HMRC in a satisfactory manner to address the outstanding tax debt.
Exhaustion of Alternative Options: HMRC may have exhausted other available avenues for recovering the debt.0 -

The loss of the TV money for this match
You don't get TV money for the league. It's distributed centrally through the prize money pool so usually your crowd will take a hit and you make less money.

Bradley Rodden played well today when introduced in the second half and I look forward to seeing what he can bring to the team.
Thank you.
Avoiding catching eyes with him after blasting him earlier on this season by any chance?

Sorry to hear about your young fans getting attacked leaving the game. Our "casuals" are an embarrassment. Hopefully the club can do something about them going forward and keep them away from the games.
3-1 flattered us a bit today. You didn't look like a club in the midst of financial troubles on the park. You're number 10 (Dean I think?) looked pretty good.
Out of the loop what happened outside today.
But I will say there was a few in trouble that I have never seen or heard of after the Hamilton game. I don't think it's a coincidence that we've got one of the most impoverished areas in the country across the road and kids kicking about with nothing to do, getting their kicks from breaking things. The culture is broken.
Policing is dead soft now too. It's like they're not even around. Almost makes you long for a bit of Italian or French police brutality.0 -

How was young Finlay Marshall for Edinburgh City today? Have seen him in a few games over the last year. Big step up and will take him to develop but could be a player there.
Wasn't one of the ones to catch my eye. Judging by the fact I questioned if he was playing for the first 65 minutes odd. Didn't mind Deane and Zaid but understandably not a great Edinburgh side.

On 11 December 2023, a petition was presented to Livingston Sheriff Court
Livingston trying to kill another Edinburgh football club.I assume the petitioner is HM Revenue and Customs so it's a tax bill they've not paid. Local sheriff court because they're not big enough to go to the court of session.

Not to cast doubt on your rumour, but they signed a player today from Aberdeen.
He is right. It's a very public notice. All they've got to do is pay their debts and it'll be withdrawn. We'll find out more in the next couple months.

Probably quite inevitable Rodden would go. His opportunities likely to be limited with Sammon and Roy ahead in the pecking order. I liked Rodden and could produce on his day- always hungry and put in a ton of work.
Our squad is pretty large, so if a few more leave to get more football then may pave the way to perhaps bring in less numbers but higher quality.
Aye I'm pretty similar. I liked him when he got an opportunity. Still our top scorer this season despite the limited appearances and some tidy goals I've enjoyed this season. Don't think he's a player who can carry the ball when you're up against it and not supporting from midfield but a buoyant Stenny he might end up with a hatful of goals. Definitely the player I looked at and thought he would be one that someone would gamble on.
Tough on the strikers in general because there's only space for one or two at a stretch with how Andy has been setting us up. Interesting to see what business we do coming in or if it will just be shaving the squad numbers down.

Interesting signing Makenzie Kirk. Was hoping for either his signature or Bobby Wales after seeing our struggling forwards for a few weeks.
We're running a big squad this year but that's definitely not a recipe for keeping your forward line happy. Assume there's movement going out?0 -

The chairman John Dickson has said that the club is not at the stage where administration is being considered but they have admitted that they simply have no money which was why we’ve lost so many players, and folded up our women’s and under 20’s teams
If you have no money and a creditor comes calling... then there's not much you can do to avoid it.
I just wonder how enthusiastic home supports will be to watch what is on offer. Season tickets are meaningless as you already have burned through their money. Unlikely to have regular walkups for the home team and only really the big gate of Falkirk this year. Beyond that there's not too much away supporters. Certainly not enough to sustain the kind of wages that follows a League 1 side.0 -
Wonder how many doings like this before the club goes under. Not likely to have many people attracted to come when every week is a sure thing.

Prediction: The game will get snowed out after I've driven over and set up all the equipment.

Couple minutes of madness happened. We were good today but failed to do the thing that great teams can do... kill the game. Andy said almost exactly what I said in the disappointed atmosphere of the Alloa press box... coming up as soon as I get my dinner.
In tech news, my connection at the club...

Article 48 seriously needs to get in the bin. It's a total myth that being able to watch the games at home hurts attendance.
Preaching to the choir. Unfortunately looks like we'll be stuck with it for a while yet with the broadcasting contracts running to pretty much the end of the decade now.

Cheers mate. I dunno why but I was expecting a PPV option. Oh well, £18 it is then. COYB.
Saturday 6th January will probably be a PPV against QoS. Our game against Edinburgh will be.
For some reason Scotland has an exemption that day but England doesn't (so no watching from English IP addresses. Awkward when my phone thinks I live in central London.)

The SPFL might forward them their prize money to keep them going, 10th place at first, then any extra if they finish above that at the end of the season. That's what they did for Gretna which worked well.
I don't think you get the prize money in a lump sum. It's regular payments throughout the year and topped up at the end with the difference.
It would suit Alloa having dropped 5 points so far to Edinburgh for them to fold but I have my doubts they'll be going anywhere. They'll just drastically cut the cloth and get through with the bare minimum and kids. Most if not all of their player budget will be alleviated in January so unless they've royally miscalculated they'll be a League 2 side restarting next year.1 -

You do a great job, especially considering it's a one-man effort on the production side. We're much the same on the rare occasions we stream (thanks to macros and Stream Decks and suchlike!) and have to dial the quality back to 1080p for live streaming, which impacts on highlights.
4K is lovely, but even having upgraded to a decent laptop and started doing a bit of editing at the ground, I'm stuck with 'superfast' internet instead of fibre at home which practically kills any chance of getting 4K highlights up for midnight. I'm in two minds whether to switch back to 1080p but wanted to give 4K a good go first!
Thank you.
We've had a leased line* at the club that makes me think 4k uploads for midnight might be possible in the near future... *Although the thing that really hurts my soul we got an internet 'upgrade' last month that's turned 66mbps upload into 16mbps upload. Do get a ridiculous 200mbps download - I need to ask if there's something wrong that upload is so low.
Streaming in 4k would need a new capture card, probably a newer laptop and a new configuration on AWS, I've just not looked at it in years because what I've got works and I've forgotten how to set it up...
That's forgetting I'm shooting on a Sony a6400 in 1080p50 (it does 4k 30 but frames > resolution) which I think is a bit of a limiting factor just now. An a6700 is a great step up and already have the compatible lens... or I'll really go all in for a FX3 and a £2k full frame power zoom lens. At that point I'll be content with what I have I think

You just keep your team beating or drawing with our rivals and you are doing well
Only if you give us some free points once you've won the league.
Cove, Hamilton, and Falkirk could all be dead rubbers by the time we get there at the end of the season. We might need those points.0

Not a clue. I wouldn't assume so unless they have another football slot to fill.
