  1. This is a good opinion but I like Rodden and I still feel like his luck will turn. He always gets the chances... once he calms down and stops snatching at them then the goals will come.
  2. We're not changing nay strips this year. I think that was more a comment on expanding their range of kits they're selling. Which will mean more in the future to choose from. Although saying that we got new kit for the staff and they are very good. The 1/4 zip top I have on if they add this patterned textured sleeve a top it'll be really nice. That's the only detail that makes pendle kits stand out from the really expensive brands that I've not seen before.
  3. You're paying for meeting the media license terms that are required to offer streaming at an SPFL and the expertise that has come with catering for Dunfermline already. There's not an off the shelf service that meets everything. There's always some mixing and matching and even if there was a complete all-in-one system you'd need to pay them their cut. would love the SPFL to conglomerate and make one central system that I can send my stuff to but.... We're a bit factional if you haven't noticed and of the really saleable assets especially Rangers TV is very good so why would anyone try to rock the boat and change what we have? Basically you have two or three components to a streaming service: You need to have a shop (technically optional if you were giving it to season ticket holders only) You need to have an access control system - can't see unless you buy, check IP addresses, only allow logins on one device per user etc You need to have a video hosting service The login one might be his server. The actual streaming at least was https://www.dacast.com/ which never struck me as ideal. I can't recall QotS TV quality but I don't assume it was any different from ours. We were the three SPFL teams. Actually the help from the Brian and the guy at Queen of the South who I've completely forgotten the name of was excellent at the time so I'm not knocking in that respect.
  4. For the actual platform, yeah. I'd assume you've got a band of volunteers to make the stream home and away. The club don't even own falkirktv.uk - Brian's company does according to the WHOIS request. Tempted to buy Falkirk.TV domain for a laugh now that I see it's available.
  5. We = Alloa, Their = ParsTV, BonnyriggRoseTV, and the new FalkirkTV platform, I = The person who's running their own system on alloathletic.co.uk and regrets nothing.
  6. Kieren's good - sure he works with your new commentator or at least down the hallway in the SFA/SPFL office. I'll retire when I get another. I'm honestly juggling too many plates to keep up nowadays with controlling everything so when there's nothing obvious to say especially about the opposition I'm struggIing and of course I just like to cause a diplomatic incident every so often
  7. It won't be 4k for sure. Not sure my laptop can reliably encode 4k without thermal throttling - my desktop can but it's harder to carry around. Besides 4k capture devices is expensive and there's a lot more fun equipment for HD I'd rather have. Anyway... We used their system for about 6 months and one of the problems I felt was the punitive cost of higher bitrates. Fairly sure they were running about 2000 kbps bit rate. See youtube's recommended bitrate below but the bottom line and I've heard this from Dunfermline's fans is that it runs with blocky video because it's not been encoded with enough information to show you details. Also the CMS he uses to log in etc is an absolute relic - I hated it. We stream at the same bitrate as the BBC do now which is 5166kbps give or take. There's no extra cost for this better picture quality too. Your CEO said he was impressed when he watched our stream so I'm surprised he never asked about what we do. I think I'm paying slightly more than what Brian's setup costs him but I pay a lot less by not having to pay Brian's cut.
  8. Ah that could be true. I've only ever been while it's been dry (but foggy)
  9. The clubs that are entry level on the ground are maybe unsurprisingly the newly promoted ones. Bonnyrigg, Edinburgh and Cove. The exception - Kelty's ground, is a good small stadium. I've been to Cove and it's fine. I assume they must be lacking a few rooms or something to get bumped up. Meadowbank should burn in a fire as a long-term venue for football. I look at those two fixtures with nothing but misery. Can't tell you what Bonnyrigg is like yet. The others are short on staff with either the qualifications or actual roles which is usually easier to make it to bronze than building adequate facilities.
  10. Well I have his name and I'm none the wiser who he is. He has one match report from Harrow Borough I could find which was a 5 minute sub appearance at the end of the game. On the goalkeeper - He was good. Could definitely see him doing a job, quick off his line and proactive. I'm sold.
  11. Get him upfront and in their box! Away from ours hopefully
  12. We don't tend to announce trialists hence the secrecy but it was indicated on the teamline that he wasn't signed so it may be that the paperwork hasn't gone through yet.
  13. Cheers for that. Hard going doing commentary for our pre-season just now without many goals. My agent hasn't had any offers unbelievably. Thought I was a shoo-in for the Falkirk TV gig but they've never been good at identifying talent.
  14. When it was first announced there wasn't a detailed route but I thought the diagram showed it going through Alloa & Stirling en route to the finish. Quite disappointed by that. I did think they'd need to do a road to an acceptable standard to accommodate the race right enough. Time trial routes are good. I've cycled most of that route.
  15. I mean the road race goes through Alloa but I assume that'll be on the Sunday. Actually no it doesn't. I'd saw us on the first release of the UCI world championship but the route comes across the bridges and seems to turn back.
  16. Would prefer goals under the belt right enough. I'm away to Denmark 3-10th July so missing Livi and Albion Rovers. No doubt they'll both be thrillers.
  17. Same. but might do tomorrow's on Youtube. Morton Saturday will be on Wasp TV
  18. Just wait til you see what you can do with a few million then at Meadowbank You're in for a treat.
  19. I wouldn't worry too much. Alloa's is also less than Stirling's season tickets. Numbers might not be his strong suit.
  20. Sour taste in my mouth with Henderson and O'Hara both signing for you guys. I think that'll guarantee a fair few goals and inevitably give you an outlet to perform well. Can only hope midfield recruitment is awful at this point and they get no service but I'm not convinced.
  21. I have a sensational back heel assist for Virtanen that I will share once I have a desktop to download the clip and that has already clouded my judgement that he will be excellent. Likewise Deveney I think will be good. He will get good guidance from Rice. Church was poor defensively but could deliver a wonderful assist every 4 or 5 games. Matching that is at least a win for a player who is only 21 and still has bags of time to develop.
  22. Nah unfortunately he was still on holiday. So I'll need to spend some time working on it rather than just have a picture. I was out earlier and have completely lost the use of my eyes due to hay fever.
  23. For you guys especially it's not hard to predict. I don't remember you ever having particular strength in depth just investing in tried and tested players. (Guess it comes a cropper when you pick up a few injuries which I get the impression you had last season. Although I'm sure you can tell me if I'm mistaken)
