Listen, the players don’t want to be call ‘students’ in every match reports every season. Yes they are College backed but have no policy in picking college students only. They already have a team that play in the Uni/college leagues and they have to be a student. This is an independent football club backed by the college open to all.

Deary me someone got up on the wrong side of the bed today eh?

Why are Nitten Star called that when there aren't any Stars in the side......I can see it for Whitehill Welfare as their season has seen all around them benefit from their welfare.

If they plan to be based at the Queensferry Sports Hub would they be thinking of taking it over as Inverkeithing has done at Dalgety Bay? That would be a really good base if they have the manpower and other resources needed. Wouldn't be an over-night job though.

Guess, if anyone is interested or has lots of time to spare, it would be an exercise to check what similar hubs are out there with Councils wanting to pass over responsibilities for management, maintenance, etc to local groups or clubs. There-again maybe not!

Queensferry Sports Hub passed over from Edinburgh Council to being a Community asset a number of years ago.  Incidentally theres also a spanking new 4 g pitch right next door to it at the High School.

Some game. Shippy 3.1 down back to 3.3 last 10 some great saves from the Dalkeith keeper to keep them in it. Great Scottish cup tie.

It was some game. Cracking entertainment and great to see Dalkeith finally get rewarded for their endeavors of the field  these last few years.

Blood, sweat and tears according to their Website and FB report is very apt.

Glenrothes not happy about fixtures. Suppose that's one of the problems with replays in the Scottish Cup, cancelling other games in the league.

To rub it in they are away to Edinburgh South in November - on a Sunday! Hopefully the morning groundhop will be worth it.

The club are unhappy to announce that this weekends rearranged game against Edinburgh South has been cancelled! This game was arranged as Burntisland had earned a replay in the cup and Edinburgh had a free week! We are disappointed as we now have a free week with nothing lined up for the team or our venue that heavily relies on home games. We now do not have a home game until the end of September and after that our next home game is the end of October.

We have tried to discuss the matter but the game remains postponed.

Co-Managers added: “Kev and I are extremely disappointed at this decision by the league committee. Already we are playing catch up on games with the teams roundabout us. The fixtures have not been kind to us, we have both 11am, 5pm Kos and we are also been asked to play on a Sundays. When we all signed up to this league we all got reminded that clubs shouldn’t take for granted that they have a free week and fixtures may change, then for a team that’s just in the league 5 minutes to be granted not to play on a Saturday after a fixture been made is ridiculous. We have had 4 away games in 6 over 4 weeks and now with the postponement of this Saturdays game we now have to wait another 3 week for another home game. Times have been difficult enough getting revenue in and decisions like this don’t help. We personally think the league should’ve been stronger on this instead of letting teams dictate when they want to play or not. We can also only apologise to the hospitality and sponsors that were coming to our game on Saturday.”

Criticising the League board on Social media wont help their cause., however disappointed they are. Daft irrelevant comment about the length of time South have been in the league....will that not be the same 5 mins that Glenrothes have been in it.

In the EoS there seems to be also Dalkeith Thistle, Musselburgh Athletic, St Andrews United, Sauchie Juniors and Oakley United which are making progress towards getting a licence. Which ones will do so this time? Anyone know?

Unlike previous years there has been an extension to the deadline to have everything in place for licence approval.  I believe clubs have to have everything in place by 21st June before being submitted to the licence board for approval the following week.

My first thought was that no-one who didn't understand "null and void" could possibly be in a decision-making capacity at a club.

Then I remembered this is Scottish football ...

See social media quotes attributed to The Leith Athletic chairman.  he's still banging on about asking for PPG.

On the EoS fb page: "In the Board's opinion, it is now not feasible to restart the season in time to complete fifty percent of fixtures."

I'd fully expect the majority of clubs to agree.

In addition you could be playing up to 26th June get three weeks off and then straight into a new season starts  again.  Null and void now and let teams prepare properly for a new season.

So basically with a minimum of 4 going down, potentially 6 if all the planets align wrongly. We are going to see at least 6/7/8 clubs vote for the season to become void. And for belt & braces sake another 2 or 3 clubs likely to vote in a similar way.

Then we have the scenario where promotion is really between 2 clubs - TJFC/JS.

Why would the remainder of the clubs want to become involved? Where’s the benefit and what’s the risk?

Vote wise is pretty clear which way it’d go.

Why would there be a vote - it's already been agreed what will happen if less that 50% of games cant be played.  Null and Void.

Presumably the latest National lockdown will mean that the Licence Audits due to take place at the end of January will be postponed - giving some teams a little longer to complete any outstanding work?

Being done via zoom or phone call.

Sorry I was thinking more for new licence applications ….shouldn't have said audits. haha

There is undoubtedly a conversation to be had at the next meeting to review the season so far, and what it looks like going forward.

I think most clubs were prepared to give the season a chance with the hope that dressing room access and fans would be allowed by the end of the year. If no fans, then at least some prospect of Govt support.  It was the right thing to do IMO.

We've made progress on the first point ie dressing room access (but still no showers), on the second point of fans it has been clarified that unless your area is Level 0 or 1 there wont be any however some areas are at Level 3 with some having moved to Level 4 for at least three weeks. On Govt monetary support, clubs have heard very little.

There wont be fans this year.  Will there be Govt support? it doesn't seem like it, certainly not imminently.

It does seem wrong somehow that clubs at our level can travel here, there and everywhere, from Level 2 to Level 4 areas whilst people are being asked to largely stay at home and not travel in Level 3 and 4 areas.

Some big decisions to be made.

Season should never have been allowed to started without full use of the changing rooms including showers ….and more importantly fans.  Even the clubs with the lowest fanbase get enough through the gate to pay the ref most weeks.  But  football matches must be played eh - doesn't matter about the financial implications or the safety of players moving from Covid hotspots to lower transmission areas - cos footballers, coaches and committee's are all immune cos they are "elite" sport...Gies a break

It's going to be interesting to see the next steps in the EoSFL and similar.  Many of the clubs will be unable to operate without any match day revenue.  Is there any meeting our announcement signposted?

Cant see the leagues starting on the current basis - asking players to turn up kitted out ready to go - no changing facilities or showeres.....yeah that will be great when its pishing wi rain and blowing a gale.
