We were one of the first reams to register this year, even though we lost nearly an entire squad. The rumours of our death have been greatly exaggerated, we aren't dead yet, we were only badly wounded, so beware, as we are healing quickly, Trust me there is plenty of fight left in this big old dog, and pre season means nothing.
We will decide when we are going to die, and I am sure you will all on here, be some of the first to know. We are a determined bunch at Shortlees, myself being one of the worst offenders. We are going well with what we have, having brought in new young, and older experienced players, who are only now buying in to what is required of them, to play for Shortlees, with hard work being the main ingredient.
Also we have a new management team, and the boys are listening and learning from them, they are taking onboard what the coaches are telling them with great enthusiasm, and implementing their instructions to the letter on the park. I think the committee, management and the players deserve great credit for their response, as they have been magnificent for us, I honestly cant praise them enough, as in our darkest hour, they have given us everything they have got.
In my opinion, it is far to quickly to write anyone off this early in the season, as on any given day, anyone can beat anyone, with only the fancied Glenburn remaining unbeaten, plus there is not one draw on the board.
Ok granted, we might not get fully get there this season, but it definitely won't be for the lack commitment, from all at Shortlees. We wish everyone all the best for the season, and keep your eyeswideopen. I will leave you with this famous little sentence.

Following a discussion between myself and Kier we have both agreed it’s best he leaves the club. Unfortunately where Kier is at this moment in time he can’t give the commitment I require to be part of the club.
In his short time at Darvel he has been a joy to work with. Kier will now deal with the club to secure his release, I would like to wish Kier all the best for the future.
Hoefully the club will be in a position to announce a new signing tomorrow

Hopefully we are starting to create a club the community feel proud to say represent them, still loads of improving to come in the future.
I know the players have been given some stick by some fir being mercenaries etc, what I will say is it’s been a pleasure working with the so far, they have been dedicated, hungry, committed and the level of togetherness they have shown in such a short space of time is remarkable. They have truly bought into the ethos and culture I believe in creating. Hopefully in the future people will recognise the same qualities I see in them as men and players, and will understand why I brought them to Darvel.
Ive no doubt the future will bring many challenges, we will work hard and see what the future brings us. Good luck to everyone associated with junior football as the season truly begins this weekend.

Strange how its rumoured that Shortlees are struggling with various players leaving?? wheres the comradery and friendship that this team was supposed to be built on? nonsense, Shortlee's last year were put together to beat HT and now that's achieved the players aren't interested especially after this seasons campaign.
I cant believe that people are on here complaining that they have no class and basically cheating scum! tell you what id tell the lot of youse to go f**k yourselves too if I had to listen to that shite day in day out. See at the end of the day whether they are paying or not paying I guarantee that there are other teams doing the same one way or the other. The fact that HT constantly win the league has driven the bitterness into all opposition and youse just cant accept that the best team won the league. FACT!
You reap what you so and if HT are paying players Karma will come knocking at some point but until then why don't you all concentrate in trying to knock them off their perch like Shortlees last year, that way you will feel much better about your achievement.

Lol mate , don’t think referee is going to try and swing a league title , a reckon Mick would rather not win it , than have a twelfth man on the park, he gives everything for the cause, if the referee makes mistakes that’s his problem , colville would rather win it on merit , than have loonballs come on and say the ref this the ref that . IMO , they would rather lose it , than be given a helping hand , surely this is ridiculous.

They have done consistently well in league , just need to go that final step,but considering the quality shortlees have had legally, and the quality thistle have illegally, then they’ve done well to be in their wae a shout as late in the season. Who knows , with shortlees in transition next year , and if Willie tarmac stops wasting money , they might win it next year . Lol

Stewarton United are a great club, the three guys that run it are the best people I have ever worked with in my chequered amateur career, whoever replaces me will get the full support of them. What’s the big deal mate , his attitude hasn’t been poor imo , his attitude towards football is spot on , men like him in the amatuer game are great , passionate about all levels of football , a die hard attitude , ok no team has a given right to any pitch over another team , his passion maybe over took his thinking , towards the grange pitch , but I see where he’s coming from towards playing their , he’s want to give shortlees their best chance of winning this match to progress to semi of Scottish , and let’s be honest it is the biggest game in Ayrshire this week bar none , fans can walk to game and so on , and is their home away from home , regarding matches played .
