  1. Didn't think we looked so bad today despite losing to 10 men. Life goes on. Sad to say that Stephen looked off the pace and I had a sinking feeling when they took Lyle off and left him on. Not often I'd say it but I'd have left Lyle on and taken Dobbie off. For me the whole way the game went gives some credence to those who say we need another creative midfielder. No-one, on a Dobbie off day, looked like unpicking that defence today.
On the bright side, I thought Rankin played well and given we have a youthful defence both Fordyce and Brownlie deserve some credit for their performances. Jacobs continues to be solid too. There's a gap between midfield and the front though that needs filled and I'm not convinced Danny's the man to do it. Guess that's what everyone's been saying.

I too was shouting for Dobbie to be taken off. I think there comes a point when a player needs to know if they're not cutting it then can be hooked!

Having seen the highlights, Durnan clearly knows Dobbies back issues (spasms?) and knees him right in the lower back for the free kick leading to our goal.
  2. Have tickets now sold out for ibrox? would it be possible for the club to sell tickets on Sundays in future? Impossible for me to get there between 8-5 through the week, as I work these hours. I realise that this is done on a voluntary basis but would certainly allow more people to have a chance at getting a ticket.

  3. Noticed Partick thistle have signed another centre back, local lad muirhead will be getting further down the pecking order, would he be a good loan signing for QoS or are we really needing a defending full back?

Going along to Palmerston today to watch training and meet the players.

Good shout. Can see Higgins and Muirhead gelling really well together ;)

  4. Surely Young cant be 100% fit otherwise he has to start. Always felt Burns is a better player out wide. Not the quickest but gives him chances to go forward and create something. Russell might be more effective in a 4-4-2 up front with Lyle. Looking at our starting 11 we should be minimum midtable so could be a rethink on the formation needed.

  5. Cheers SD. As I said we are all looking forward to this. I know Dumfries is a nice town, although I was about 15 last time I was there, so well over 30 years now, so I am looking forward to a good day out and to see a couple of trophy presentations is a nice bonus. Also glad we are getting to see a game on grass at Palmerston as I am not a fan of these artificial surfaces personally.

Two of us went to a game at Annan earlier in the season and the plan is to do a couple of Scottish games at a new ground every season when Sunderland are not playing or at an away game we are not attending.

Funny you could potentially be attending Queens' last competitive game on grass at Palmerston then before we go to 3G next year!

  6. They say selection is on merit so I suppose on league position we would get in.

However, I don't fancy the SPL proposal. Let's be honest, they are not offering any more spaces in the league and there is no mention of relegation and promotion from SPL2. What's wrong with keeping things simple like almost every other league in the world?

Having three leagues of say 16, a Scottish National Conference below that (10 to 16) and feeder leagues from North & East and South and West below that with local leagues feeding into each of them. Promotion and relegation determined by bottom two and top two from the league below. Third bottom and teams in third, fourth and fifth from the league below contending the play offs. If they wanted to fanny about with a split after each team had played each other twice then fair enough.

For me the bigger leagues with more promotion/relegation and play off spots is the key, along with the opening up of the league at the bottom of the SFL. This would oxygenate the leagues nicely.

Second that. Has to be bigger leagues. This SPl "reconstruction" is hardly a reconstruction at all is it!? Its just a renaming of the second tier - teams might get a bit more money but thats it. Still play each other too many times in a season which is what the fans are BORED of and partly (along with financial reasons and games on TV) to blame for lowering crowds.
