My reaction was more to do with the fact that it’s an odd reaction to the derby win, where he set up a goal by winning the ball and playing in O’Hara, to come on here to moan about him never winning the ball/doing anything and not even mention the win/overall performance.

He wasn’t great tonight and hasn’t had any particularly good games for us. However, I thought he did more than Lawless tonight, but he was nowhere near one of our better players, I do agree. I expected more when he signed. It’s worth noting though that we’ve started scoring more goals since he came in to play in that number 10 role and him being there seems to create more space for O’Hara, Thomas and Lawless. He also helps drive the team forward and gives our striker some support - something a lot of people on here were moaning about nobody else doing before. He does the basics and that’s probably all that’s needed in that role at this level, when we have Thomas and Lawless out wide.

My frustration isnt just tonight’s performance from Polworth ( and Lawless to some extent)  but both have been very poor for the last 4 plus games. They wouldnt figure in my starting 11.

Not usually a fan of the gushing football fans do over people who have any kind of impact on their club; a stand named after them, retired jerseys etc. But I think it would be fitting for Ross McArthur to have something dedicated to him, perhaps a part of the training ground.

It’s been easy to forget recently how dedicated McArthur has been to the club. Some of his mistakes have been very frustrating, but I think his commitment to the club should be immortalised as he steps down.

McCarthur Park has a certain ring to it.

Why are are board delaying this?

it’s clearly the only option, the quicker they implement it the better.

What benefits to the club to we gain from letting him take more training sessions? he’s only going to make things worse.

Maybe there will be a double announcement : goodbye Peter Grant , lets welcome XXX as the new DAFC manager. Just a thought.

  4. Our German investors have the option to increase their shareholding to that of controlling interest over the next 12 months. They will therefore have a major influence on any decision. Our Board wont wish to do anything that jeopardises that investment. Our form over the last 5-6 months has been more akin to relegation threatened rather than winning promotion. Over that period we have delivered some of the most wretched performances I can remember in 5 decades of watching the Pars. That wont have gone un-noticed.

I’ve been moaning about/focussing on the Wighton sub so much, that I actually forgot the tactical ineptitude that cost us the 2nd goal.

We took off Murray, a strong CB that Crawford made captain, and moved Whittaker to CB to mark Ugwu - who is a powerful striker. Whittaker off had to be the change, unless we were switching to 1 CB. Honestly, his subs today are enough justification to sack him. Never mind our last 12 away games in the league.

Suggestion that Murray was injured. But I agree the Wighton and Mayo substitutions were bizarre.

  6. I thought before the game that we needed big performances from Thomas, Wighton and Henderson and sadly only Henderson delivered. We failed to exert any continuous pressure on Raith's goal and we failed to get in  behind their defence. At no time did we overload their defence or get them turning. They looked pretty composed throughout. Raith seemed happy to let us play in front of their defence. Crawford adopted a three quarters press  which failed to exert any pressure on the back four allowing them to play the ball around the back at will. Raith let the ball do the work whereas our players were having to work very hard.

I thought our chances were more or less "half chances "  other than O'Hara's at the end and maybe McManus in the first half. On the subject of McManus, Crawford stop wasting him in this role, his ability to contribute effectively to the game is severely curtailed despite his willingness.  I thought  Henderson, O'Hara  and Whitaker were our best performers. That was some shot from Whits that hit the crossbar in the first half and he did well to navigate the whole game after picking up a Yellow after  25 minutes.

I dont think Raith set up to win that game so they will be pleased with the result.
