So many frustrations to take away from that game today. Celtic didn’t have to work for any of the 5 goals which was what annoyed me most. Also, how many chances does Ross Stewart want to score in open play? He’s getting all the plaudits but he’s scored 2 goals this season; both from the spot. Obviously his link up play has been quality but his finishing has been woeful. There was positives though, we are creating chances against even the best team in the league, just need to start taking them.

They’re both stone wall bookings. First one is extremely frustrating because Laidlaw throws him the ball when he is never on for it and he ends up having to take the foul and, consequently, gets booked. For the second one, I understand what people are on about that he has stubbed his toe off the ground and it’s hard to argue he hasn’t going off the replays, but he’s still taken the boy (I think Devlin?) down and it’s another stone wall booking. As for Ketts, he’s got no leg to stand on. He’s basically frustrated at the ref because in the first half Stewart gave away a cheap foul from a corner for blatantly pushing Guthrie in the back to gain an advantage and argues that Guthrie did the same for the goal and no foul was given. Ultimately he was clutching at straws because it was two completely different situations; Stewart’s was a blatant foul and Guthrie’s wasn’t. Don’t understand why he can’t just suck it up and admit he got his tactics wrong. Going down to Livi and playing 5 at the back when the 4231 has worked so well was extremely strange anyway. Yes they scored off a corner but they had numerous chances from open play and could’ve had 2/3 goals on another day. However, can’t complain as we’re still 5th and there is a platform to work with - I’m just worried the players are believing in their league position too much because, for me anyway, our league position does not reflect our performances for our opening 6 matches.

I reckon they’re going to give Staggies Army members first priority then general season ticket holders after that. Personally not a member of the Staggies Army but only fair as those that are have paid a fair chunk to no avail really.

True, Rangers and Hibs are only five clear and we’re bound to beat them both at least once seeing as we’re now fucking massive.

Doesn’t matter whether you win the ball first these days. Maybe 40 year ago that’s a fine tackle but not in the modern game.

Baffles me that there’s even a debate about whether that’s a red or not. Shocking tackle and worst of all, the referee didn’t even give a free kick?!

For all the great work he does before the final third, Stewart’s finishing this season has been woeful. He’s missed one very good chance every game he’s played in so far.

Defending reminiscent of last season.

Our last 2 performances have been decent in the first half but awful in the second. I want a win obviously, but I can’t see St Mirren dropping points here. A place where we normally struggle and their defence looks sturdy. I reckon 2-1 St Mirren.

Absolutely gutless second half. Wouldn’t give one player pass marks today. Hadn’t been convinced on Randall before today but he was absolutely terrible. Felt sorry for Donaldson and Iacovitti as they kept on having to play channel balls because not one midfielder wanted the ball. Stewart looked burst, Mckay was a ghost and who the f**k scouted Charles-Cook because the guy, bless him, doesn’t have a clue.

3-4 decent half chances missed, denied a stonewall penalty and can’t clear our lines. Ladies and Gentleman, Ross County have indeed arrived.

Like that starting lineup - good balance in the midfield and Midge back out wide where he probably does his best work.

Think Hibs’ main problem in the first half against United was their problem to not play through the midfield. I think Paton has to play as he’s definitely our link between the midfield and the front 3, and I’d probably start Vigurs and Draper to try win the midfield battle against Harkes and Butcher. One thing I did notice was Pawlett playing in the middle for United. Is that a regular feature under Mellon as I always recall him being a winger?

Penalty to Rangers.

He’s a bit of a key in the County team. Does a lot of the dirty work and is excellent at holding the ball up and linking play. Also very good in the air and fairly strong considering his build. Is Shankland back for this game? Could be a pretty big deciding factor. I was personally pretty disappointed with us against Killie. I thought we were really sloppy on the ball and poor decision making cost us another 2 points. Having watched United against Hibs the other day, United were probably unlucky not to get something out of the game. They pressed Hibs really well in the first half and forced Hibs to hammer a lot of channel balls that didn’t work. Hibs changed shape though and United became a bit unstuck so I can see us matching up in midfield. I can also see Draper keeping his place as I thought he was our best player last night and we need someone to fight with Butcher. I’m going to be positive and say another game where we don’t lose. If Shankland plays, I think we could have a 1-1 draw but without him I’ll go 1-0 County.

This. The boys went behind for the first time this season and, albeit with a bit of luck, got themselves back into the game which shows great character.

I can only comment on the game from after the goal as that’s only where I saw from. Thought County were pretty poor on the ball for the majority of the game. Lots of slack passes and just all round sloppy play. I thought we were fairly solid defensively for the majority; first goal was not the defence’s fault as I have no idea what Vigurs was even trying to do. Second goal was a great ball through to Burke (can’t mind who played it)but Laidlaw should’ve done better at his near post. For the last 20 I personally felt we looked a lot better on the ball and there was an intent to actually keep it instead of hitting the channel every time. The penalty is very harsh and if I was a Killie fan/player I would be very annoyed about it but I’m not so I’m not very annoyed about it. Last 10 mins could’ve gone either way and both teams had decent chances to win it but over the piece a draw probably does seem fair.

My stream was alright quality wise (and I was running off a laptop with fairly poor graphics) but I didn’t get on originally as I had two accounts in my name for some strange reason.

Exact same for me, it worked for the pre-season preview yet isn’t working now?
