  1. Haven’t seen it back yet but in real time the Motherwell player’s focus was on winning a penalty and thought he tried to orchestrate a penalty. Possibly VAR panel saw that as well. Many teams seem to be coached these days more on how to win penalties at corners than how to score goals from them. At a corner just before or after that incident Van Veen was trying a similar move trying to interlock arms with his marker ready to go down.  Hate that aspect of the modern game.

  2. In the livi game they gave away a penalty for handball (harsh maybe) but having given away the penalty, did their player get a yellow card? Don’t think he did, if not what the Fck is the rule? Several other teams have had players yellow carded when it’s a handball even when the ball is fired against a hand/arm. Where’s the consistency??

Love the idea of the bigotry tax. Tell the spfl for every bigoted song, we're adding a quid to the price of away tickets for the next game. Camera/mic on the away end for proof.

Imagine the raging reactions. We'd be fucking pioneers.

We could have a barometer Blue Peter style which goes up on the big screen and for every sectarian chant/song it goes up. A sectarianometer if you like. If it caught on and was published weekly might shame some of them, but doubt it.

I do wonder if Ross regrets any of his choices yet. I mean, probably not right now, while he's sitting in a mansion in the North East's most exclusive area, but he is miles away from his stated aim of becoming Scotland manager. Goodwin will be in the Ireland job before Ross is anywhere near the Scotland role.

Obviously I'm biased, but I firmly believe he'd be better off today if he'd stayed with us for a further season. I agree with @AW saint - I really don't give a f**k - but I hope there's a salutary lesson to others there.

Agree,  Ross has burnt his bridges and he reaps what he sows from now on in my book, I had wanted him back before he knocked back our approach. However I doubt he’ll ever think he should have stayed another season with us. He absolutely maxed his pulling power when he did. He’d have had to get us up and minimum got us into the top 6 to stand out the following year, had he just kept us up it wouldn’t have attracted such an offer. Had he stayed with us an extra year and then moved to Aberdeen or the likes he’d still have had to do well with them to get such an offer. Sunderland was a free hit for him, he was always still going to get an offer from a Hibs or an Aberdeen if it hadn’t worked out (barring a total disaster.) Being biased, I think he should have jumped at a chance to come back but not our problem now.

One point about all this is either the media have got this badly wrong or we've been desperately trying to snare a football manager in the same way pissed desperados try to get a lumber at 2 in the morning in Viennas. Thats us apparently offered contracts to Ross, Naismith and Robinson all in the last 24 hours.

Are you suggesting we had to get him pissed to get him to accept🧐

Aye. We signed up Fraser and gorgeous Joe on longer deals.

Ideally you'd hope we can keep Erhahon, with Brophy up front that's the spine of the team. Resigned to losing Alnwick but have faith they'll be able to find a decent replacement, after all we thought the Czech Wall was irreplaceable.

I’m sure bigger teams will consider AInwick but I’ve not seen anything yet to suggest he’s been approached for a PCA? Also I’m sure he gave an interview where he said money wasn’t his biggest motivator and he was happier with saints than he’s been elsewhere. (Or maybe I dreamt that).

  7. Tommy was a coach at some big teams so he must have been highly thought of, but he’d never been a success as a manager which is why giving him the job, then giving him a two year contract when he’d probably have signed a one year contract was madness. He shouldn’t feel hard done by, we boosted his pension which presumably is what he’s doing now, i.e. retired.

I don’t think Jim will be in trouble by Xmas no matter what happens and I don’t think he should be.

He could help things however by ditching the ridiculous back three system that he seems to have embraced with the zeal of a convert.

Something that seems to get overlooked is the fact that our goals against is worse this season than ever before under Jim. I think this is down to the system rather than our defensive players not being good enough.

Oddly enough the defensive record is worse away from home where although we are playing better and creating chances in most games we have also conceded 2 or more goals in 6 out of 8 games.

We defend better at home but hardly create a chance let alone score and it is turgid to watch.

Agree, if, and I don’t think it will happen, we end up relegated then he’d be out but if he keeps us up again I don’t see him under any threat, and I doubt the board will jump the gun with any decision. Too early to be thinking this negatively.

16 year old Reid v. 33 year old Flynn. If Gus was still the manager then we all know who would have got the nod! Was bold from Goodwin. Was thinking at HT we might see Flynn before long but, to be fair, we had improved before he finally was brought on in the 74th minute.

I guess we market ourselves as a club who give youth a chance.....  Likely too that one of the main reasons for Dylan signing his first professional deal with us was because he was told he'd get a chance in the first team.

Did Dylan just sign a two year deal? If so, sadly one of the reasons could be to make some money off him next summer as keeping him till next season will see us get little when he moves to hibs🥴

Bit of a slap in the face to any centre mid that didn’t get a game today. Playing a want a away centre half in there instead of them along with a want away centre mid.

Agree with the slap in the face bit but most plaYers are want away players these days, if they are in the last year of their contract and they think a better deal could be offered they won’t sign a new contract until they see what is out there. Players like Flynn (who I’d like to see given more of a chance) sign extensions when offered as they don’t see an offer coming elsewhere.

Is it just me, but in that image Erhahon could really do with bulking up. He's young, sure, but he seems as gangly as he was a few years back. You feel a bit more beef on the lad would pay dividends considering the position/style he plays.

Thought that as well but more like he’s got the start of a beer belly.

  12. His signing turned our season around making us think we had a real find, then he was asked to play a different role and he didn’t look anything special. Not his fault that the manager altered his role after such a good start.  I think United have got a really good signing, but I agree with an earlier comment, this is Cammie’s chance to kick on and if he does JDH won’t be a big loss.
