Good hard fought game of football by probably the two best teams in the league. First half I thought the nauld shaded it but due to a truly class goal by a class player they were 0-1 at the break. Utd had the best of the chances in that first half but failed to capitalise on their play. Second half Darvel started the brighter and had chances to go further ahead. Cumbernauld then made a couple of subs and rallied again creating some golden chances of their own. About ten mins to go and the match still very much in the balance, Utd shot themselves in the foot with a bizarre own goal which effectively ended the game.

Ultimately we missed the creativity of young Jack Harrison today as we had nothing on our right side going forwards. Tony, C-Hall and our midfield three all did well today. For Darvel Miller, Meggat and Grant were the standouts for me. Also well done to the Darvel support who were noisy but well behaved. Special mention to Meggats I assume dad who certainly expressed his love anytime the boy went near the ball.

Cumbernauld and Darvel still out there as we head for Christmas/New Year. One Championship but two leagues as has been clear for the last three months. Top 8 with the top 2 looking like stick ons but a third promotion place wide open for 5 or 6 others. Of course going up is one thing, staying up is another. Can imagine a few wiser committee heads will be happy to get a top 6 space without the worry of being cannon fodder for Talbot and friends.

Bottom of the league the same in reverse, couple of teams starting to pack the suitcase for the departure hall with 4 of 5 teams watching the exit door in case it swings shut with them on the wrong side of it.

Think its still far to early to say the top 2 are stick ons. Blantyre look very good with Renfrew and Neilston  still very much in the mix and Kilsyth are more than capable of beating anyone on their day.

Ah well despite my rampant pessimism another 3 pints and 4 goals to the good today .0-0 at half time and unlucky not to convert a few decent chances in the first half all change in the second when defending the deep end and shooting towards the shallow end .Not a failure in the Cumbernauld colours today but Chris Hall in particular was immense ...thanks lads

Another really good performance yesterday and agree Hall was very good for us. Thought wee Bubba had a good first half and we were unlucky not to be a couple up at half time. Again Harrison was immense for us, constantly making runs and setting up chances with another assist yesterday. I hear hes close on 20 assists for the season so far which for a right back is pretty decent. Still a lot of football to be played this season and a lot of good teams in this league so not counting any chickens yet but so far so good. Forgot to mention Tony Stevenson who I thought was superb at the back yesterday. Also welcome to Kieran McAnespie. A great addition to the club.

third time ive watched cumberbauld this season and got to say they have looked very good each time. Cumbernauld's right wingback particularly impressed yesterday. creates some amount of chances for the forwards. Should have been a far bigger scoreline but Mcstay missed some glorious chances. Strange sending off yesterday anyone know what happened?

As far as I could make out from what I read somewhere, the player who was being subbed off wouldn't leave the pitch where the ref told him to, so picked up a second yellow card. Players will soon get wise to the fact that the best place to stand if you think you are going off is bang on top of the centre spot

cheers for that. never seen that happen before and to be honest never knew that was a rule. a bit harsh imo. was hoping to see wee bubba yesterday. heard hes doing well
