  1. Bearing in mind these are played away from Saturday 3pm, some clubs might not want to do that, plus Clydebank's game will be one sided, long journey for Lossie, Linlithgow, Musselburgh, Darvel have been on TV before. Same with Berwick and Brechin, and I don't think asking Cumnock to go to Brora on a Friday night is reasonable...
  2. Well which of the games should the BBC have chosen instead? Bearing in mind they don't like leaving the central belt for the opening rounds.
  3. Semis are Maryhill v Forth and Eglinton v St Cadoc's on 19th October. This weekend the SOS are playing their semis (one of which is 1st v 2nd in the league) and the EOS are playing their quarters (favourites being Premier Division Whitburn).
  4. As the only other Premier clubs not playing that day presumably it'll be Cumnock at home or could also be Auchinleck at home (moved from the Scottish Cup third round date).
  5. Looking at the Round 3 draw, everyone should be able to play on 19th October as they have a free week or are playing a fellow SJFA club - except Camelon of course... However they have a favourable draw if they can actually play the games, while Pumpherston away to Kilbirnie and West Calder hosting Broughty the hardest ties. Win in R3 and you get £100 prize money in R4 (last 32), though since you're paying 15% of the gate to the SJFA each game you're basically just getting your money back from the first two rounds.
  6. Sam North goes to Forfar for a basement battle and asks about the pyramid. Stranraer chairman: "it's the same as any thingmy in football, the play-off at Wembley to get into the Premier League is a prime example" - rightly corrected by Sam as being for teams from 3rd down not the champions. Guy from Stranraer's media team at the end agrees with the pyramid but "only if your ground is suitable....these clubs seem to get promoted and their grounds are hmm..."
  7. Can't be SFF as Cumnock are in the Scottish Cup.
  8. Loving Max's press conference answers.
  9. Dunno if playing on a Friday night because Celtic B are using the stadium tomorrow is "upmarket" but there you go.
  10. In the park towards the Palace from the south? That's downhill in a 20mph limit, I highly doubt cars driving legally to the speed limit are being held up by "lycra clad" cyclists. From the north, here? https://maps.app.goo.gl/wR4c6sgbxTBARZaSA That's a shared used path on the left which is barely wide enough for two people to walk side by side.
  11. Electrical issues (that were supposed to have been sorted by now) according to posts on the nonleaguematters forum.
  12. You seem to have got your threads mixed up. It was the WOS Cup that had to be redrawn, and so far only 10/53 Junior Cup games this weekend have assistants assigned.
  13. tbf last season you complained when the Benburb game was brought forward at short notice to a weekend when you were both out the SCC and that left not enough games to be played later in the season... Could've been filled by the Beith home game I suppose but too late now. You've got a gap in October for the SCC and Junior Cup, I guess for the latter date a fixture will be provided, especially with the week after the Scottish Cup will clash.
  14. On a slightly related note - why was it a VSC and not a full safety car? Normally it would be the latter - was it because there was only a few laps left? As it was on the penultimate lap the only difference would be Bernd coming out, picking up the leader, probably driving slower around the circuit than VSC speed, then leading them across the line.
  15. Stephen Craigan on that St Mirren player challenge - "careless is a yellow card".
  16. Reward for being one of the pioneers of the East Region's move to the licensing/EOS in early 2018. Bonnyrigg and Hibs at home on the same day so chance of a bigger Friday night crowd.
  17. No, they have precisely the number of covered seats required, but having checked their highlights that's all they have so will need an extra 400 capacity covered area built somewhere.
  18. You never know how close a club is to meeting Bronze, it could just be one thing in each category. Their last review was June 23 so they could have met the Bronze criteria a year on, just need to wait on the next update. tbf it would be funny if they did get a Bronze licence as I'd love to see what the minimum criteria looks like especially in terms of a glorified cage.
  19. It's a friendly so they are safe until next month when they play Gibraltar

Maybe someone smarter than me can have a look at their accounts (to end May 2023) and tell us what it means but appears to be liabilities within the year of £43k and a further £111k after that (loans?). https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/SC535003/filing-history Also seems like they brought in £55k in 2020 which reduced their liabilities by half, presumably that was Scottish Cup run money.
  21. The flip side of that is the fans who haven't so much as read the laws or kept up to date with them let alone refereed game, commenting on decisions - especially when footage later supports the ref. Of course there doesn't have to be a bad tackle for a player to receive a yellow card, but I'll await the highlights. And I've just watched the video of Penicuik v Hutchie Vale in midweek and the referee seems to have got all four red cards correct so maybe have a look and reconsider if the referee was "brutal"... Winning the Alex Jack Cup and then the shield for a Scottish Cup place would certainly be helpful...
  22. In the immortal words of Hugh Burns on Rangers TV: “What’s the goalie daein’, Tom?”.
  23. They'll get at least £460 or the gate minus referee/AR and 15% to the SJFA split between them (assuming a crowd of 500 that could be about £1k each).
  24. Waiting for this to update to see the +/- points, surely bigger than VOLs huge +45 gain for beating Benburb (who are worse than Talbot).
