Awk I'll join a football forum instead of chatting on Twitter, surely the chat will be more mature.......

I tried that too. I thought this would be a more mature place but it's the same boring chat.

Banter and the like is fine but this is as boring as it gets.

I've now decided to repeat my feat of a few years ago and stop coming on here again.

Leave the bigots to their bile.

  2. Both penalties given were penalties in the modern game but soft as anything for me.

Rangers were honking until Moreton scored then we woke up for a bit.

Considering we hit the woodwork twice and missed a couple of easy chances whilst McDonald had a good game, we should ha e strolled it.

Dessers is never a no 9 for me though.

Yfeko was OK but Sterling at RB was mince. The difference between him and Tav should shut up some of the Tav haters.

Moreton were well organised and defended well. Plenty of experience in their team helped. They just need a few more players.

Solid night for us. Utterly shite night for the swarm of anti-Hibs fans on here. Better luck next time lads. montysmug.png

Think you've nailed it with the solid night comment. Hibs certainly looked the part going forward after the early present from their keeper.

There's also definitely issues in the back line to be resolved, although a 3rd choice keeper obviously won't have helped.

A lot of new players and not much time for them to gel, if we fcuk it up then dropping down to the Europa might not be the worst thing in the world fitba wise.

To be fair, in the pre-season friendlies it's been the defence which has been a shambles so far. And they're pretty much unchanged. 😱

In the likes of Italy, when a club goes bust (happens every week) they just buy the rights back from the national FA and go again. Their supporters accept, though, that they did go bust, they're just on a 17th 2nd life, essentially.

But not for rangers, of course. They never died, they just merely ceased to live, like the brains of their supporters.

I know about the Italian model, because as you say it happens a lot!

I don't see that it matches the general Rangers fans approach or the opposite one.

It's somewhat in between as they carry their Honours etc over into the new iteration of the club.

It depends if you think of a team as a football club or a business.

I hate the money side with a passion and would prefer a more even playing field but nobody even outside the OF wants that. Too many clubs with their own selfish narrow interests.

    Superb bit of business

Didn't realise he was 23. Good business all round as he obviously wasn't going to get into the Rangers team.

    Good luck to him.

His Wiki page starts in an interesting way.

"Mayo was born the day after Rod Wallace scored a hat-trick that helped Rangers beat Motherwell 6–2 in March 2000.[2] A Rangers fan from a young age, he excelled as a student and attained straight A's at High School."

    Step forward....Viaplay

Who never saw this coming when they were constantly selling their product at half its original cost !!!

BBC News - Viaplay: Broadcaster of Scotland games and Scottish League Cup pulls out of UK

It'll now be down to other companies picking up the rights as Viaplay are basically selling up.

Who is going to be interested in doing that?

You'll be campaigning to separate Rangers 2012 from the previous incarnation's honours next.

No, I'll leave that to the desperados with the inferiority complex.

Personally I'm not entirely sure what difference the history of a club makes to the current team. It's really only a fan thing and when you really think about it, it's not actually that important.

  9. I have a feeling it'll be Rodgers.

Unless he invests in the defence Celtic are one injury away from a central defensive crisis.

And if Kyogo was to get injured? Who comes in for him?

The level of cover just seems pretty thin to me.

All of this is a serious post, except for the first line as unless Celtic are 3rd or 4th after the halfway point in the season he won't get binned.

Isn't that their target demographic? It certainly seems that way, especially in the summer months when so many (often overweight) middle aged men take great delight in letting everyone know that they support Rangers (or Celtic, I have no skin in the game).

It may well be, but in my opinion, any middle aged man buying and wearing a football strip other than to play football in, is a sad sack and possibly for the watching.

They don't suit you unless you're a regular at the gym or a teenager.

Both the Dundee and Rangers kits look utter pish. Although, I fully expect St Johnstone to trump both of them.

Rangers seem to have a knack of producing kits that both look instantly un distinguishable from prior seasons and already dated before they are actually released.

As a Rangers supporter I concur wholeheartedly with this post. I have no idea how this differs from any recent shirt.

Then again, I'm a middle aged man, so I wouldn't be buying one. Maybe the strip nerds can explain the subtle yet essential differences that require the outlay of another gazillion quid for a t shirt.

  12. What a night. Glad I was watching on the TV rather than being there, which shows I'm getting old.

Some excellent football on display from a technically brilliant Scotland team, organised beautifully by Steve Clarke and his team.

Both full backs taking high cross field passes with one simple touch, whilst on the run demonstrates the basic quality we now have available.

Special mentions have to go to the groundsmen, the DJ and every single fan that booed the shite bag Georgians. They all contributed to that win last night.
