Having heard some of the players mauchline have either signed then I don't think it will be long before they start picking up points. Think it's 4 players that started the season with either thistle or shortlees a couple from catrine, and a couple ex juniors. Fair play to them and hope that continues during the Xmas break and they can be as competitive( if not more) as they were last week against craigie. I didn't see or haven't heard any thing about yesterday's game but seems that they are moving in the right direction.
The Mossblown result shocked me a little, they seemed to be on a good run and glenmuir seemed to be a little off it in recent weeks. Not sure if we can read too much into mid December results tho as teams really struggle with Xmas work nights out and players needing extra shifts for the fat man coming. I can guarantee there was alot of teams delighted when they seen that weather warning issues.
On that note, catrine pitch is one of Ayrshire better grass pitches, called off about 2 miles away from mauchline, one of Ayrshire worst grass pitches?? Or was the mauchline game taken to astro?
Catrine pitch was frozen in parts, not worth this risk to players1 -
What cups are they still in mate? Might take a game in

Bark, Stevie Glass just finished playing took the whitletts job in summer at 33 yo. When Tony first came out of boys club he signed for our old ayr amateurs team. Most of that team stayed together including myself going from there to Craigmark then to Wallacetoun eventually merging into whitletts last year. I've not played in 2 year and hardly saw a game but a lot of the boys are really close and that's the reason boys like Tony are back at amatur level mate. It looks like a common theme in a afa at the minute there seems to be a lot of boys playing lower than they probably should be. Hope that clears it up a bit
That’s good to hear mate, getting a close bunch a boys is half the battle! Wish you’s all the best in the season bud0 -
Shocked at this from you bark. Being a catrine man and having the players uz had in the 3rd and 4th divisions. Imo one of the best centre halves in Ayrshire so why is it so crazy to think balfour is that good?
I’m not questioning their abilities or that mate I was just wanting to know there story, why they weren’t going to higher level and I had never heard of any of them but read the bit about the boy Balfour and seems like a real good junior player etc, but the boy answered my question above saying it’s their local team etc, which is good to hear.0 -
If these 2 boys are that good, no offence to Whitletts at all but why they not playing at a higher level than bottom league amateur?

I think you guys are pulling the story together without me saying anything
No ones pulling any story together mate, I was wondering what the script was with it, and you’ve confirmed to us it was a broken floodlight0 -
Was this the game that the opponents refused to play because they never got 24 hours notice on change of kick-off time and venue?
That’s what I heard mate but as stated above by Gary that’s not the case it’s something to do with a broken floodlight0 -
Anyone any fresh information on why the stewarton game wasn’t on couple week back?

Whoever puts in Enough work at training etc, and is performing on the park, if your good enough to start and your on the bench then your either not turning up to training or trying hard enough and the player on the park ahead of you is doing everything he should be doing, but end of the day it’s hard to take being on the bench but you should know it’s a team game and your time will come

It's a shame this is being played so early, I think it will be a decent game regardless but with holidays and suspensions that usually come at the start of the season it may do the game a dis service. Also agree with the big numbers new farm have, the quality they had even on the bench last week they simply can't keep everyone happy. I tel u something, if I was the waverly or craigie manager I would be showing the players this thread. Not many people given them a chance, they BOTH came up at league winners.
Got to agree with that mate, the manager should be showing this and telling them to go out and prove everyone wrong! I tipped waverly as one of my winners but Craigie will
Definitely be up there as well, strongest this league has been in couple years I’d say0 -
Prem- shortlees will be close but I think its a certainty, Stewarton and Cumnock to come down.
1st- far too hard to predict, but to pick between 3 I’d say west Kilbride, new farm or Catrine. Mauchline and glenmuir to go down0 -
New farm and catrine first game of the season, the thing with new farm is they have depth in numbers, they had at least 20 body’s for the friendly against Cumnock
