Trouble is Gallagher, Golding, Jones and probably Ewen won’t be back next year, possibly a couple of others so another complete re build required so difficult to be overly optimistic. Also nagging at the back of my mind is how much finance will we have after obviously spending more than we usually do in the last window.

The increase in crowds certainly helps to start paying that back and if these guys keep producing this form, it's gonna surely lead to an increase in season ticket sales in a few months too. Isn't Isla Benzie's background in Bank management? You'd like to think that would help keep things under control a bit.

  2. This may be the first time I've ever praised an Elgin city board but Bringing Hale and Laird in has been such a fantastic move, I've been so impressed by everything they've done and said since coming in and their contacts and eye for a player seems to be quite an asset, I don't remember a time in our league history where players being brought in improve the squad so much rather than just adding numbers, excited to see what kind of squad they put together over the summer.

  3. This was in today's article with Isla Benzie's response

It is understood that the Gleaner money, which had been part of a six-figure shirt sponsorship deal for City, was not part of new manager Ross Draper’s budget to improve the team’s squad for the coming season.

How true that is or how much that budget is, I dunno.

If you watch the video you can clearly see Clarke hits the ball off the defender before the defender goes right through him. At no point did the defender get the ball first, then the man second. Not saying it was intentional, but awful timing and definitely dangerous. That's why the ball travels forward and doesn't follow the direction of the defenders tackle.

The ball travels that way because Bronsky hits it off Clarke when his foot goes through the ball and then the player's ankle, it wouldn't loop up in the air that way otherwise

Looks like being the first League 2 game with fans since we beat Cowden 3-2 on a Tuesday night in March. 220 apparently allowed in but I won't be one of them as I don't live in Moray. Pixellot will have to do. Hopefully Iain Auld is involved in commentary again as he is very good.

Is it not Chris Saunderson and Jonny Clark that do the commentary?

Firstly, congrats to Elgin fc. a good three points from an away fixture.

Secondly, my my apologies to any viewer whom were offend by the use of  inappropriate  language during the broadcast. Fascinating and interesting afternoon should not and will not be tolerated.

I really don't get the constant apologising about bad language going on during all these closed door games, there's not going to be a single person watching that hasn't experienced hearing1000x worse stuff from the pitch, sidelines and terraces while watching their team in person.

Should also say I thoroughly enjoyed the coverage. I know it was meant to be on the Stranraer website but my youtube stream was good quality and the camerawork, although a bit slow at first, was better than the pixellot cameras managed last week I thought. The commentators kept me entertained. It sounded like 3 fans sitting in their own living rooms which was amusing and they stayed fairly balanced and talked about our players throughout. Good work Stranraer, if we're not allowed into stadiums by April I will be more than happy to pay the £8 again.

Completely agree with this, the angle provided was much better than the faraway zoomed out version you get from Pixellot and I enjoyed being able to rewind to see if Hester was onside (he was). The commentators were also very good, I was very impressed on the knowledge of Elgin and our players that the main guy had. If any of them are reading this, just to let you know Elgin is indeed further north than Dingwall, it's not by much when you look at the longitude but it is slightly further north.

As for the result, very comfortable, we've looked great in every game so far, a sign that having a settled squad really does wonders instead of the squad overhaul and loads of loan players approach that we're used to

. Camera at times not up to the play, had a few moments of seeing the Albion goalie looking up field to the play and nothing happening.

That's just the way the Pixellot technology is unfortunately and the clubs have absolutely zero control over that, there was a game the other night, I think it was Albion vs Ayr where it missed goals and there's definitely going to be other goals that will be missed in future, we just need to accept it if we want to help our clubs out financially and watch our teams

  9. Thought the live stream was good with a clearer picture than I was expecting. Judging by a lot of posts on social media, I think a few people need to remember this isn't being done by Sky Sports and the club don't have much control over the technology so aren't directly responsible for any hiccups which are bound to happen, looking forward to the next game already.

Fancy Elgin to get into 3rd spot and stay there until season end. I’d also say that Elgin are most likely to gain promotion from the playoff contenders.

How good are Forfar or Peterhead; definitely not insurmountable

We have a mental block when it comes to Peterhead, lost our last 11 in a row against them, we'd shit the bed for sure.

Any word on the extent of Shane's injury yet? It didn't look to great at the time.

    P&J:

Price said: “It’s not looking great – it’s his hamstring. A bad pull or tear, then he could be out for four to six weeks. If it’s a slight strain it still could be a couple of games.

“It’s a shame for him. I’m sure he’s chasing his own records and wants to help us get into the play-offs. It’s a big blow to the team and he’s a big part of how we play, but it’s up to other players to take their opportunity.”

Take i there were no sports reporters there today? BBC Football has "Elgin shock 10 man Dundee" and Local radio has Elgin scoring last minute winner. Keeper was sent off after 2nd goal and the only shock was that it wasn't more.

The whole team was immense as were the travelling support.

The Courier had a good write up

    Dundee 1-2 Elgin
