  1. Linked with Gareth McAuley (39 in December) in the papers this morning.
  2. for Kaiserslautern, who have gone from being German champions (in 1998) and having a World Cup winner in their team to the third division in ~20 years.
  3. True, but it would be beyond stupid to go into Europe with Oli Shaw as the only striker available. Which is what would happen if they sold Murray and the deal(s) coming in fell through or took a bit longer than expected to complete.
  4. "Some reason" = the only strikers Hibs have under contract for next season are Murray and Shaw. They won't sell / loan Murray until they sign another striker (hopefully Kamberi).
  5. Looks like Gillespie was dropped in January, and replaced by Liam Roberts (?).
  6. Opened this thread thinking that something newsworthy had happened. Nah, it's just a Jambo making a c**t of himself.
  7. Nah, the Sun report was quite specific. But folk just read the headline and don't bother looking at the story. "SunSport can reveal Gerrard’s No2 Gary McAllister has enquired about his situation." "Enquired" = "what sort of money are you looking for?" It means they haven't offered him a contract. Obviously that could change, but "enquired" is the first stage in a long process, and a lot of things don't progress any further, as other players are available and they have other priorities (particularly centre-back).
  8. Probably as absurd a comparison as saying that "Burke is finished", but it took Gareth Bale some years to figure out how to use his physical attributes effectively. e.g. mind that stat about Spurs never winning a Premier League game that he had played in?
  9. That guy's always trying to punt former Yugoslavia players to Scottish teams. I doubt that Grasshoppers will be keen on punting Hibs another player after (potentially) getting robbed blind with Kamberi.
  10. Not true to say that McKinnon can only build a good Championship side with a big budget. He got into the playoffs with Raith (in a year when Hibs and Rangers were both in the league). I think folk are being negative because they were hoping for Hopkin. That was knackered as soon as Livi won the playoffs, boosting his profile.
  11. Looking at that, I wonder why Exeter don't sell up and move in with the Chiefs.
  12. Aye, it was on this thread before it got hijacked by yon Jambo numpty. I think the Kamberi situation is as follows: He would like to go to England (who wouldn't? $$$), but we're not sure if there's concrete interest from there yet Hibs really want him, he liked it there and it's a good stepping stone to England If he lets the Hibs option expire, then Grasshoppers would have full control over him again He really doesn't want to go back to Grasshoppers IMO he will sign for Hibs unless someone actually makes an offer for him in the next 10 days or so. Hibs might have to give him a good deal where he can go after a year if there is an offer, like Cummings did.
  13. Lennon says that the option on Kamberi expires on 14 June. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2686205/neil-lennon-hibs-increased-transfer-budget-easter-road-stay-main-reason-leeann-dempster-meeting/
  14. Hibs have only been in the top 5 twice in the last 10 years (4th in 2010 and 2018). Hearts have been outside the top 5 as often as not in the last ten years. Before McInnes showed up, Aberdeen had been in the bottom six for four years in a row. Arguably things have changed a bit recently, but saying it's unrealistic for the other clubs to break top 5 is going too far.
  15. Lennon also confirmed the Halliday story is a load of pish. Thank f**k.
  16. Alloa fans will have seen more of him, he played all of last season there. He only played about ~20 minutes for Hibs first team, when we were running out of defenders in February / March 2017 (a 2-2 draw with Dunfermline). He wasn't going to oust Stevenson and we have another young left back (Mackie) to go with instead. Sounds like the sort of deal you would have made in expectation of being in the Championship TBH.
  17. TBH he was wresting for >50% of the time he was supposed to be playing football. ... While we're reminiscing about 2016, I just noticed that Niklas Gunnarsson now also has a Swedish Cup winners' medal. He came on as a sub as Djurgardens gubbed Malmo a couple of weeks ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Svenska_Cupen_Final
  18. What a great thread. Just sprinted through the first 40 pages and gave out some greens to various bams. Ayr United fans giving it big licks back then. f**k me, Ayr United. The Espanyol of Ayrshire.
  19. You're all laughing at this, but it seems to be his actual excuse. The player's agent, Kenny Moyes, says he was at Hampden Park to watch the Steelmen in the final. Moyes insists "Michael didn't realise he would be surrounded by Celtic fans...and he now regrets the decision as he accepts it doesn't look too good." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44193760 We believe you, Michael Francis O'Halloran, we believe you.
  20. Gordon Waddell had a right meltdown in his column today. Basically a Falkirk fan whining that it isn't easy enough for Falkirk to get into the top league.
