Big Jim Thomson banned from the Queens Arena and needs to inform the club if he wants to attend home games. What’s that all about ?

Seems all a bit bizarre. I have spoken to JT in recent months at some away fixtures like at Dumbarton, as he stays in Kilsyth and he was more than helpful when organising Testimonial Dinner tickets. A poor way to treat a former club captain.

We should have signed a experienced keeper on loan when Martin got injured

We are asking a lot of Lieghfield to play so many games.

Lieghfield will be a good keeper when he plays more games but that really should be in the under 20 team.

Do Queens have a goalkeeper coach who can help Lieghfield ?

You can get away with it playing young players outfield but a keeper has  to have experience he can be the difference between you winning and losing games .

Martin is the GK Coach by all accounts.

a big week coming up to see where we finish in the league - I'm looking behind me rather than above!!

if we can beat either Falkirk or Inverness I think we have a good chance of finishing above them, to lose to either will I believe mean they will finish above us. At moment a BIG IF they win their games in hand they would both go above us.

Any one else think that Brechin may get that first league win on last day of the season?

Unleash Lyle up front at Brechin if he's still chasing the 3 or 4 goals to equal or overtake Black's 120 goals tally.

As I mentioned on an other thread we had a very young team starting yesterday goalie 20, defence 21,25,21,21, midfield 22,21,26,23 forwards 22,35. It would be good if we could keep all these players together.

So Queens Starting 11 yesterday had an average age of 23.....

We had 4 attacking players starting today. Plus we have full backs who like to go forward. Couldn't make the game today so can't comment if it looks like they were told to sit back but Dobbie, Murray, Dykes and Thomson are all attacking players. Would you rather we had started with more attacking players and been left short when defending? Might have been a crap performance but part of me expected us to get beat today so I'll take the point.

    Thomson wasn't even playing...

Have to say that an incredibly high proportion of the goalkeepers signed  permanently has to have some sort of misfortune.

Colin Scott - Made of paper maché gets displaced by Andy Goram in the only cup final he ever played in, retires early.

Andy Goram - Swoops in, wins trophy, drinks the town dry.

David Hutton - Career defined by a massive mistake 10 minutes into a cup final.

Ludovic Roy - Gets seriously injured after looking good

Roddy McKenzie - Gets a stroke of luck by getting offered an extra year by accident, tears his ACL in a testimonial, retires after coming back and playing like someones dad at fives because you were short.

    Bryn Halliwell - 'shrugs shoulders.'

Scott Fox - had to play as an amateur, for some reason we preferred David Hutton.

Lee Robinson - Comes in and fails to displace David Hutton and leaves mid season, comes back and stars despite the team getting relegated. Next season he becomes a cup winning cult hero, leaves to go to the arctic circle. Comes back and undoes all his previous good graces by conceding corners, daisy cutters, 40 yard headers. Falls out with Naysmith and leaves whilst being white knighted by his mate on P&B. It doesn't get worse than that really

Jim Atkinson - Doesn't get a break whilst he's here, as soon as he goes a mass injury crisis happens.

Callum Antell - Is so bad that he is now the byword for crap goalkeeping.

Alan Martin - Gets injured, then portly, then has to resemble a marshmallow in a not very flattering pink kit, then forgets how to do the whole goalkeeping thing, gets injured again.

Sam Henderson - Finally gets to go on the bench but is ruled out  the following week through a bovine related mishap.

If anyone has to fill in with some more examples (positive or negative) that would be great but my main take away is that we should only ever sign goalkeepers on loan.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned

John Burridge who signed fairly late in his career for Queens and swings on the crossbar and plays a handful of games...

    Jim Butter Fingers......

Willie Cunninghame who lost 6 goals to Killie with Watters scoring 5 of them...

How long does the old stand have left? Was it not mentioned a while back that it didn't have too long left?

The main stand has been up since the early Sixties, so is approaching 60 years old with the roof covered in moss.  The present BOD seem to have a plan to rebuild with a casino and various other businesses included that seems a rather pie in the sky idea.
