Jasmine turned 16 today, which puts her way past the average lifespan for her breed. Considering the rotten start to life she was dealt, I'm happy to see her still trucking along.

To celebrate, we took her to the vet.

Wow, what a Grand Dame she is! Love her long coat.  Nothing better than giving a dog a good life after a rough start, too.

Don't see how I was having a 'minter' or 'in a complete mess' because I saw the game differently from Thistle fans.

We were not 'thrashed', yes losing 3 goals at home is not great, however to put a different spin on things and to see it not through red and yellow tinted specs.. Thistle's 3 goals came from, a huge deflection and 2 really wild defensive errors, apart from hitting the crossbar, Thistle never really threatened. We had more shots, corners, also hit the frame of the goal and (although I can't find it anywhere) I would imagine we had more possession, so hardly a thrashing, we only lost by 1 goal.

Don't get me wrong it is a great result for Thistle and a bad result for Dundee, and in the end that's all that matters. But if Thistle see this as a great performance by them, then they are sadly mistaken imo.

Just my opinion of course, but take away our errors and we win that comfortably.

In many ways I agree with you - we didn't really threaten at all in this away win apart from the three goals we scored, oh and and hitting the crossbar.

And yeah, if Dundee had made no errors, they would have won comfortably. In fact, I'd go further and say if Dundee win all the rest of their games this season, resulting in promotion and do the same again for two further seasons with no errors in their performances, they will win the Champions League.

    Danke Schoen.

They need to adopt the Soccer Saturday approach and allocate the reporters to teams they don't have an affinity with. So no more Allan Preston to Tynecastle or McDiarmid Park, and no more Willie Miller to Pittodrie.

That way, it might actually be possible to figure out what's happening instead of being met with screams of joy or despair.

I completely agree with you on not sending these morons to the teams they support every week - the orgasmic screams from "Biscuits"' were unbearable yesterday when Hearts scored - although they did tell us immediately which team had scored - he really wasn't all that enthused by the Ross County goal.  I usually think of Chick as the wage thief I'd most like to see booted (preferably literally) out of the door of the BBC, but then I am reminded how bad Preston is - as a massively biased commentator, a clueless analyst in debates (like the VAR rubbish yesterday) and an agent constantly publicising his players at the licence fee payers' expense.

One small point on the above - I've never heard any screams of joy and despair from poor old Wullie.  Perhaps a small rise in cheerfulness at full-time when he can go home - yesterday his full time score/summary was "that's us finished Kenny". He often misses stuff that's happened and sounds absolutely miserable to have to watch football for money every week.

  4. The dawn of a very depressing new OAM era as we move from a wry, measured and calm professional in Richard Gordon who often sounded like the only adult in the room, to a tabloid rabble-rouser who spends a lot of airtime stirring up "debate".. MacIntyre wasn't even able to get to the right grounds at the right times, and instead allowed idiots like "Chick" and "Biscuits" to argue over each other and run (ruin) the show.   One thing RG was very good at was telling Chick to get to the point with match incidents - and swiftly cutting away from him when needed.

You know it's nearly time for the new league season when someone from the BBC files this sort of self-hating drivel...

The most tiresome thing about that article is that "Nick McPheat" (an AI bot?) churned out something similarly unfunny and try-hard about the wacky world of Scottish fitba this time last year too:

Plenty of poor guys have made and continue to make a career from the BBC

She’s just part of the old boy’s network (if you’ll forgive the pun)

Yes, and this thread has 800+ pages of folk pointing out how bad "Chic", "Biscuits", Wullie and Pat Bonner et al. are.  Chic is the worst for me - because he is supposed to be a vastly experienced reporter and isn't even an ex-player, so there's no excuse at all for the drivel he spouts and all the mistakes he makes.  Plus, I've never forgiven him for promising to retire and then not doing it.

Jane Lewis deserves plenty of criticism - not because she's female, but because her job is to host the program and yet she is clearly incapable of stringing a coherent sentence together despite having been a professional sports presenter for many years.  I remember being surprised when she popped up on the BBC years ago, because she was so amateurish on STV.

I came on here to see if there is anything on here about Robbie Crawford signing for us. When I came across your post Morton fans certainly don't give a f**k about Plastic and every team certainly have their fair share of poor posters.

Hmmm. You can't have read the Morton forum thread linked here where various weirdos demonstrate that they do indeed give a f*ck, for an assortment of salty reasons, then.

Just been sent a link to this glorious thread. Toby’s headsgone is a particular highlight.

This is weird and wonderful stuff.  What makes it all the more pleasing is that Thistle fans don't really give a f*ck about Morton.  They have some truly dreadful posters on here, we cruised to the league win against them in 2013, then they got humiliatingly relegated the very next year (10-2), they haven't played top-tier football in decades, their actual rivals St Mirren are a million miles ahead of them, and that's about all I can think of.

Panmure is brilliant, well 4-15 are brilliant - 1-3 and 16-18 are on different land that I don't like quite as much, but 4-15 is as good a stretch of golf as you'll find. It's in amazing condition just now after the regional qualifiers. Usual green fees are £145 and they basically never do discount for normal, non-tour guide, tee times.

I'd say £200 for the rounds and B&B in the Ferry is a really good deal.

+1 on Panmure.  Played it in April for the first time and it's a stunning course with some really memorable holes. Even in early Spring the fairways and greens were excellent so I can imagine it'd be top-notch now. It also has one of the best clubhouses in Scotland and everyone we encountered was really friendly.

Scotscraig isn't quite at the same level but it's still a very good course and experience.  Years since I played it but remember it as more heathland than links.

£200 for both and B&B is a genuinely great deal.

Thing is, if it is a bam up, its a fucking shite one.

Trolling your own fans who already largely despise the ownership  even in something as inconsequential as a strip, is a strange choice.

I hope this is just shite patter. But Im gearing myself up for this being legit and it being the biggest riddy of the season.

Even if it is real, it wouldn't be in the Top 5 riddies of the coming season - we have Jacqui in charge, digging in to cling on to her power despite having promised to hand the club over, and likely a whole year of patronising, passive-aggressive "statements" to look forward to.

Is Richard Gordon actually fucking off or is this another Chick Young retirement moment?

Even though he isn't actually disappearing from the coverage, the two situations aren't remotely comparable.  RG has been a beacon of calm competence in anchoring Sportsound over the years amidst a sea of idiots, and it's quite clear that he's standing down from Saturdays but still doing other days.

Chick on the other hand has enjoyed the luckiest broadcasting "career" I can think of given his absolute lack of talent  - and he really did trumpet that he was retiring, with the BBC sending him off with a farewell series about Scotland at the world cup (IIRC he swanned around abroad making it?), before boldly turning up the following season on OAM with his usual terrible jokes, word salads and pointless interruptions, as though nothing had happened.  He's the George Costanza of the Scottish football media, with less charm or integrity.

It’s small margins. We qualified for the Euros which is great. We then played fairly badly against three sides higher ranked than us.

We then took 7 points off teams higher ranked than us in ECQ and were the highest placed 2nd placed team into the playoffs.

We then played badly in a single game against a team who are both higher ranked and better than us. Our players are clearly tired. The Ukrainians, for obvious reasons, were not.

It happens. It happened to Italy twice recently, and to the Netherlands repeatedly.

We’ve then collapsed in Ireland, and whilst it’s hugely concerning it also effectively means nothing. We’re seeing poor performances and results across Europe right now, and though we might have a mentality problem, we’re not alone.

Objectively, our results have been better than any other time in 25 years. We’ve under-performed, but that’s not failure - yet.

Get Tuesday done with and let’s forget about this month.

Have they though? I'd say the qualifying campaigns for Euro 2004 - except the play off second leg obviously - and (especially) 2008 - except Georgia away obviously - were better results and performances.  This time around we capitalised on the new one-legged playoff by squeezing through on pens, and played really well against an already qualified Denmark. Austria away was a decent result, but it wasn't exactly up alongside beating France home and away.

It is outrageous that 3BC/Low has not fulfilled its promise to transfer its PTFC shares to The Jags Foundation. You sound like Javeajag, on WAT.  We need answers to the following questions asap.

Why did 3BC/Low/PTFC refuse allow TJF and its advisers to undertake due diligence before the planned share transfer?

Why did the above parties not share financial information with TJF as claimed by the latter's board?

Why did was the Motherwell fan ownership model (IIRC originally the one favoured by Colin Weir and proposed by TJF) apparently rejected by 3BC/Low?

What sort of fan ownership model, is now acceptable to 3BC/Low? [The PTFC Trust is not acceptable to me.]

What information is 3BC/Low/PTFC willing to provide to the organisation that will receive the shares?

What is the planned timescale for the deal?

Nothing can happen until 3BC/Low/PTFC gives clear answers.

I agree with everything you say.  My Jackie Chiles gif may in hindsight have looked sarcastic, but I do in fact find Jacqui's recent statements to be outrageous, egregious and preposterous!
