From third tier of scottish football to scoring for Scotland within what 12 months?Good luck to the boy. Feather in cap to Ayr and McCall for brining him on!

If Burley’s hat is in the ring then surely worth a go ( but only if SS stays). He has managed and played at the highest level. He is (was) a local boy but...not sure we could afford him even though he has not had a job for 7 years. For me we do need some continuity which is why SS MUST stay.

I know this is not the best place to ask. I have been overseas for 12 years now thinking of making a trip for the dumfermline , ross country dbl header. Is there a bus running up to the county game and any recommendations on a decent hotel to stay at in ayr?
I come up once a year from England and stay at either the Kylstrome or the Carlton...prestwick is better sadly than Ayr for a few beers...other than the wee Windaes. I've also flown in from a Singapore for games!!! The missus thinks I'm mad but once AUFC is in the blood!!!!!I'm hoping to be up in April and do away at DUFC - spank them again.

Right, so we have lost to a v. Good Junior team who woul beat a lot of League 2 and possibly League 1 in a one off ( I know not championship but hey ho we must get over it). I watched it here in Thailand with a few Singha beers...that was the good news, the worst bad news, other than the result, being my English son in laws who took the piss unmercifully on whatsapp. Any way so what next?
My view is that Forrest is a must to return ASAP, he makes things happen. Shankand also - just what is the injury? Moffat MoM 1st half but not so much second half but also a MUST play for me.
We do need to add to the squad but only 1 or 2 and if no better than what we have why bother? Wasted money.
Finally is US as suporters....WE MUST SUPPORT. Agreed this is a bad run but heckling abuse will not help.
I don't watch regularly as based in England now but see highlights and live to games and come up a couple of times a year so many may take issue with these thoughts.
C'mon Ayr...we can do it Premiership beckons!

I just cannot believe the sad news about Davie Stewart. I was lucky enough to watch him before he left for Leeds. Brilliant keeper and surely Ayrs best ever. I was also lucky enough to meet him at his Hall of a Fame induction. A true gent and great guy. RIP Davie

Happy days, I'm in Bahrain and see I can buy the game on the Rangers tv (I accept I hate giving them the money) for £5.99. Only two hours ahead here as well so not too late a night. 'Mon Ayr!!

How did Hare-Reid play at Forfar....only saw short highlights and he didn’t look too bad..it’s the experience that worries me a little although playing is best experience...but needs to be strong on crosses in championship imo

Davy Stewart by a country mile then Hughie Sproat the extrovert .
Agree totally. Big Davie was brilliant and deserved more than 1 Scotland cap. Trivia...only Scotland goalkeeper to have a clean sheet and save a penalty and be dropped the next game. He also played in Leeds team in European Cup final...1975 I think.

RIP to one of the true Ayr greats - I used to watch him regularly (until like him I started playing for Darvel Juniors) - I was also fortunate enough to meet him at his induction to the Hall of Fame..a true gentleman and too young to pass away at only 77.
